  1. I'm in Toronto, and it's interesting to hear about the rules everyone has been given. Makes you think about what hockey would look like once we're sort of back at it.

I expect the next time I'll be playing is in the fall when my league (hopefully) starts back up. I missed summer hockey this year and I don't think our weekly shinny group will be making a return.

What’s the balance like on the P2 stick? Looking into a Saros pro stock stick

No idea about his Pro Stick sticks, but for games he uses a 24" paddle last time I heard (I saw a post and someone had one of his game sticks), which I find interesting. Probably the shortest in the NHL if I were to guess. I'd be on the lookout for one as well. I've always wanted to try a 24" CCM.

I'm a small dude like Saros, so I think I could make it work.

Anyways, best of luck with your CCM Premier 2! Looks like a great choice.

For you beer league guys what made you go with pro over sr?

I have been having an internal struggle whether or not to order some pads or pick up some sr stuff. My main idea of wanting to go with pro is pad longevity, spend a little bit more and get pads that will last and not break down. On the other hand after talking to some of you guys on here the general consensus is that warrior makes nice Sr level gear. If I can still take advantage of TGC presale the difference won’t be that much.

I play two times a week mid level nothing to demanding. I have probably talked myself in and out of ordering pads for about a week.

I want my stuff to last over time. Pro will last a lot longer than SR level gear if you treat it right, plus the protection benefits outweigh Senior level protection all day long. It also depends on what piece of senior vs Pro gear we are talking about, brands, etc.

In Beer Leagues, depending on the skill level, guys can REALLY shoot the puck. I personally need the protection and longevity that Pro gear offers, which is why I primarily wear full Pro gear (CCM, in my case).

It also coms down to personal budgets also. I don't want another goalie to break the bank with Pro level gear, but if you can, it really is a good investment, assuming you treat year gear well and are going to be hanging onto it for a good number of years.

I use an under armor compression(tight) long sleeved shirt with wrist pads UNDER the sleeves.  I very rarely get sweaty hands.  Definitely not to the point that anything loses grip.

    That's actually a nice idea.

Looks like an original VH 1-piece model (see silver rivet on the toe) so these likely have some mileage. That said, they rubberized the toe piece on the gen 2 True model so maybe that was the reasoning for that design mod. I have gen 2 True model and the toe caps look great after a year of regular use.

like anything else, big X factor is always care. I wipe them down after every skate and hang dry without the insoles. So far no repairs needed.

Yeah, this was probably a one-off as all the one-PC toes of the True skates I've seen have looked in good shape. Just wanted to post because it was interested to see a skate cracked like that.

Glad to see you take care of your skates so well. Definitely a piece of gear we can't ignore.

I don't really have any big gear regrets but i'd say back when the reebok premier 2 came on the market i regret not buying the MAF all yellow with silver accent and buying all withe with yellow accent because i didn'T wanted to wait till they got a new shipment back and i wanted them now 😭

Loved MAF's Premier 2's. I didn't have that colour combo, but I loved my blue/white/silver set back in the day.

First game in the new pads! Getting used to the extra inch on the pads, but they feel amazing.

    Those look awesome !

I went from a stock pad +0 to a +2 in my current custom pads. While it did take some adjustment, I felt comfortable in them a month or two later. Keep at it! These new pads will feel better soon.

So I found a great looking pair of True one piece skates on SidelineSwap and they look like they weren’t baked at all (for the record I wanted to try the two and one piece used where I could get them cheep to decide what I wanted custom wise before dropping $1k).

One bummer, no runner tool. Anyone have these skates and have suggestions or images of what the tool looks like? I hate using my Sparks without the runner holder.

If you get a nice enough used set of True skates, you don't need to order a brand new custom pair at all depending on your foot.

I got my 2-piece True skates used and once I baked them properly they were great. No need to get another pair of brand new True skates. I saved a lot of money that way which was nice.

And random question: The runner tool for the true skates. Would that socket be the same type used for these Bauer Vertexx cowlings? Asking because I've never had removable blades before so I'm unsure of what socket to use if/when I need to repalce these blades. Thanks!
