  1. There is nothing like playing a league game with your team. Congrats on your first win! I would put that voucher on the same level as winning some sort of trophy. I'd keep that thing and write the date/score on the back.

Congrats again on the big win!

Spring/Summer 2019 Championship game.  Didn't get many games, photographer didn't stay long.  It was an embarrassment of a game to be honest.

Looking good man. Hey, a win is still a win. Enjoy it.

Some people never win a championship. Have fun with it :)

How in the world have you been wearing a size 4?!?

    Yes, those should fit well.

My toes scrunch at the end like crazy haha, and I just deal with it. I'm used to it by now, but it can hurt sometimes. In fairness though, the boots have been stretches out over time, so they aren't really a size 4D anymore.

Thanks! I am hoping they fit well. Wearing skates that aren't too small will probably be strange at first. I'm so used to having the entire skate filled up.

    Something doesn't compute about this ... a 9 playing in a 4D?

I only have one pair of shoes in a size 9 (my running shoes), and they are probably a tad big for me at the toe, but they fit well, especially in the heel. I barely wear them though

The majority of shoes I own and wear everyday are a size 8-8.5 so I'm hoping these skates will fit. I'm sure they will be fine.

The seller of the skates said he wears a 9 shoe and these wear very snug on him. So I'm sure I can make these work.

  4. I have these incoming. seller stated they are size 7-7.5D.

I've only worn a single pair of goalie skates until now. right now I rock a pair of Bauer Supreme 1000's size 4D that I got when I was 12 years old (I'm 26 now). Stretched out like crazy and my feet hurt everytime I play in them for at least 15-20 min, haha.

I wear a size 9, 8.5, or 8 shoe size depending on the type. So these should be okay?

Hoping for the best. Beyond stoked to get them! Will update when these skates arrive. :)

Same here, I’m in the market for a neck guard and was looking at the original model of this but heard it did not offer enough protection. Would love to demo this model since I’m on the ice so much.

Agreed. I've checked out the original but this seems far and above. Would love to get my hands on one!

Now this is definitely different from the rest I’ve seen.

might consider cutting the shoulder floaters off my Optik and onto my SZ3!

Thank you! Those old Vaughn wraps fit perfectly into that upper arm area. When I tested them out, I did receive some shots to that problem area and they didn't hurt like they did before, which if why I'd love to add them to the upper arms of my CCM Pro C/A. The arm protection on my CCM is great right now, no problems, but I just want this C/A to last as long as possible, which is why I'm thinking of "what if" Mods for the future. I love the P1 design and protection/mobility/coverage I get with it, so I want to stick with this for awhile.

And your mod sounds great! When you go for it, pictures would be great ! :)

  7. Also, I’ve played around with the idea of a way to add more padding to the upper arms ( that's IF at day comes with my CCM CA, and I tested it out with my old RBK P2 C/A):

Pic of my old Vaughn Knee/Thigh wraps:

What I did to test them:

Just velcro’d them around the upper arm with the strap that is used to wrap around your leg.

Back when I tinkered with this MOD, this was my main C/A at the time. When I tried this in a game they worked SO well. They moved around a lot, but that was because I just strapped them in to test. Looking to get a permanent fix one of these days.

My my main goal of this mod is to have them behind the arm (if possible) so it won’t be seen, and the visual look of the C/A still remains original on the front.

I just plunked them into the general area of where i’d Like them to sit. No idea how I’m going to get them to stay though. They have a lace area on one of the sides so maybe I can lace them it? Or maybe cut/sew them somehow.

Any my tips and tricks (or suggestions for this mod I will attempt ) would be helpful. Thank you!

This thread is awesome. We should totally have a “MOD Thread” on here.

Very nice. If I can get my hands on a set of junior floaters, I’m going to do the same thing to my AB Pros.

Thank you! I'd highly recommend the Junior floater idea. When comparing my old Junior P1 floaters to my current ones, I realized just how small they were and just how perfectly they fit behind my CCM AB Pro floaters. Not to bulky, and they fit just right.

I'm sure you can find an old Junior size C/A for really cheap to use for spare parts on your current C/A.

  9. Great C/A's! This thread inspired me to finally put my horrible sewing skills to and do a small mod to my C/A. Not super necassary, but I've always wanted to hone my skills and mod my c/a and was always a little afraid to do so.

Today I took my old Junior Reebok Premier 1 shoulder floaters and added them to my current CCM AB Pro:

    622572016_MyModdedCCMABProCA.thumb.jpeg.9cea511141b9a66f91adbf0a8b8a07de.jpeg

I also added the old Reebok P1 heart guard behind the current heart guard, too. Right now I have that stuck behind in place with adhesive sticky velcro. I want to add longer elastic tabs so I can sew them in permanently, like I did with the floaters.

If anyone have any MOD suggestions or tips, I'd love to hear them. :)

I would advise getting a neck guard, don’t go the same route as trav4 did in breaking his collarbone / neck.

    +1

Once I left minor hockey I ditched the neck guard and dangler for a bit (we were forced to wear them). I got a scary shot that I felt up top one day and while it didn't do any damage, it scared me enough to go back to my dangler (which I tie fairly "tight" to my mask so it doesn't annoy me) as well as a CCM neck guard shirt style with the additional sternum protection.

All it takes is one puck to find its way through...

I just picked up a pair recently as well. I've been using them for quite a few skates, just curious as to who you love them so much?

Only difference I've found is that it's nice and soft.

I used it last night, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they hold up long-term. But yeah the softness is something I noticed right away. Very comfortable.

i doubt it. he said in an interview that he feels ccm eflex line is the best brand for the style of play and that he only would play with the best thing available towards how he plays. unless vaughn does some super big step i think its safe to say hes staying in ccm

I agree, and of course it's not all about the money. Goalies need gear that works for them, whether they are being paid or not. But if he ever did switch, hypothetically, whichever company making his gear would go above and beyond making the exact gear he wanted to 'play' like an EFlex pad (or whatever he wanted at that given time) in a sense and I believe he could be happy in any brand he wore given the right pad build, and he's an NHL goalie who could ask for whatever he wants.

I highly doubt Price would ever switch either, but who knows. Not as high profile of a goalie, but I remember Jose Theodore breaking his endorsement deal to switch brands. Unlikely, but it can happen.

  13. I don't think Price would give up his endorsement money to go back to Vaughn. But hey, you never know once his gear contract is up (if it gets to that point).
