  1. Yeah well, if it can put things into perspective of the quality of hockey I'm used to, I didn't feel I got left alone at all during that game. There's this one D-man that tends to let em through pretty easy (which led to the breakaway goal @4:30), but otherwise, I'm used to even less support than what I got that night!
  2. Haven't posted in a looooooong time. Still playing every now and then but with family expanding and work being hectic I'm playing less, and have even less time to edit videos! That being said, I still drop one every now and then. Enjoy. (Comments always welcomed!)
  3. So this beautiful piece of metal wire came in the mail yesterday. I'll probably still suck, but at least I'll look good doing it! Seriously, I think it complements the rest of the kit just perfectly.
  4. So I haven't posted in forever, didn't mean I stopped. New to me set of Warriors. I think I finally found love! I got those for super cheap, yes they are well used but still have plenty life left in them and the good thing about Warrior is that, all the breakable parts are replacable, yay. Never have I ever seen so much engineering put into goalie gear, it's amazing the level of thought that went into creating these. Cheers.
  5. Alright, so you ready to feel better about your defensive system? That was two weeks ago and let's just say that, again, although I still struggle with the new pads, the defense was....well, it wasn't really! Just for fun I decide to pull out some numbers, and they go like this: Breakaway : 11 2 on 0 : 1 2 on 1 : 7 3 on 1 : 2 Because I wanted to see the straping and the new pads in action I made a net video too. Didn't made a special edit for the net camera, just synced them and kept the same markers so it doesn't always makes sense! Enjoy.
  6. Yeah they usualy did, especialy since I used to mount my camera outside the glass so I couldn't change it if I moved.
  7. Team building or team: get outta my fucking paint? Agreed. Just like Fleury! I imagine someone else in the show did it already, but I can't remember who. Maybe someone on here can point me some example. A lot! That being said that set-up looks like it would be pretty bad ass up close, especialy considering you are playing a real league with jerseys and socks and pants.
  8. @southpawtendy48 @Fullright @Colander Thanks. Looking back at the video it's true that, although this hasn't been my greatest game, the slot and bang bang plays were pretty poorly defended against. The majority of these guys having played higger level of hockey meens they are better at picking corners and recognising/exploiting flaws faster, the moment it is not properly defended against, the goalie doesn't stand much of a chance. Colander: that's not an actual league, just a bunch of pals that have played most if not all of their hockey together and still meet up to play. That game wasn't even scored (thankfully!). That being said, you are right they haven't put up much of an effort in establishing an actual defense. At least I now know what to expect if I ever get the call again with them. Speaking of poor defensive effort, the next video(s) is probably the epitom of players not even interested in being on the ice bellow the red line. Keep an eye out later on today, it's honnestly epic, in a bad way I mean!
  9. So has some of you might have seen on another thread, I got new gear. Lefevre design KOHOs that are 33+1 instead of my usual 32+1, and I took a really bad decision and debuted them on a night I was playing with a group I had never played before on a facebook sub. Combine that with a missunderstanding of the calibre I was going to play and I was way out of my league in unfamilliar, untweaked gear. Yes, they picked me appart. It hurt.
  10. Hey, thanks a lot. I really do try to make a conscious effort of not moving out of position has much has it's the one thing I noticed costs me the most. If I look back at my previous videos, I'll often be in perfectly good position and then the shot is released and for some reason I move out of position and get beaten. I noticed it happens more on the far side, whatever way I'm moving. Thanks for the comment!
  11. Bad screen grab of the in net camera before the game starts.
  12. Thanks man. The Ds do indeed have a hard time folowing up on slot and backdoor coverage, but are surprisingly good at screening....me! And that's exactely what happened on the 4th goal, where you can clearly see me gesturing to the guy, after the goal, that I had no visual on that shot whatsoever. That ref was really cool to deal with, always acknowledging great plays and great saves I made. On that one he said it was too bad that the guy had about a gazillion chances to bang it in. He couldn't blew it dead has he had visual on it and it was still a fair puck. He later checked on me to make I was ok after I caught a shot to the dangler. Really cool guy.
  13. So I goaled a .905 game.....that's right a 900 game! Granted I'm not in a position that numbers really mean anything, but a 900 game, I never thought I had it in me. And that's not even my new best game ever I hinted to last week, that one is still to come. Out of the 4 goals, first one was an 18 tap on the pads and finaly in, one I was completely blind on and picked it up it was too late, and one was very unlucky. Standard stick deflection to the corner but the puck somehow jumped the stick and continued on into the goal. All in all a pretty good night. Enjoy because for the next one I'm debuting my new gear, on a night I really shouldn't have!
  14. Thanks! Just got back from a game and tried to pay specific attention to the pointers you gave (especially the standing on my feet one) and it did pay of. I don't know if I succeeded but one thing for sure, the last game I posted was my best game ever. I can tell you right away that todays game IS NOW the best game ever. Even without having seen the footage yet.
  15. BEST. GAME. EVER. That's it! Number wise, position wise, save selection wise, you name it, it was my best game ever. Enjoy.
  16. So I got called-up to sub again, but this time it ended in a lost. 6-5 if I remember correctly (or might have been 6-4). Anyway, I think I still played decently good. I feel that my cross-crease movements are comming back to where they were when I stopped a couple years ago and looking at the videos emphasise that feeling, I look a lot more fluid and in better control than I used to a few weeks back. Enjoy and has always, don't be affraid to criticize or point out flaws. Thanks.
  17. Hahaha, well, it's brand new according to my standards! I endured mine a solid 2 years before retiring it earlier this year, let's just say I squeeze all the life out of it. Might have to consider the BPM120. Still looking for a new composite and haven't made up my mind yet. Still wondering if I go full retard and get the 2S Pro, which, to be completely honnest, I wouldn't deserve or probably even use to it's full potential, or try and find a more reasonably priced stick that would suits me just fine. Still debating.
  18. Well, this set showed up on marketplace a couple weeks ago and the deal was too good to pass up. First time ever in Lefevre pads and even though I'm not a fan of all white gear, I must say they are nicer in person than I originaly tought. Got to wore them once so far and got absolutely lit up, let's just say I picked the wrong crowd to try on new gear I was not familiar with. Will keep on playing with the settings and strapping options but, although my first time out wasn't good and I didn't really enjoyed how they felt, I think I can make it work as I probably hav identified what the problems were. Think I just need more ice time to figure things out. Lemme know what you think!
  19. Man, that 860 is brand new, what are you talking about?! That Sher-wood looks sexy though. It's amazing what black and weave can do. Enjoy it and let me know how the stick felt.
  20. So today's a two for one, in two ways. Two uploads in a day and that one is a dual feed upload, you be the judge and tell me which perspective you like best. First you have the standard stuck to the glass feed and an in net feed also. I had wanted to try the in net cam for a while just couldn't decide how to go about it. Ended up going full low tech on this one and simply stuck a camera mount on a piece of 2x4, works wonders. I thought I would have liked the in net pesrspective better to be honnest. It gives great feedback on my positioning and foot work but nothing on how the plays is developing and how I am positionned in relation to what's happening. Bottom line is: I didn't enjoyed it that much and I don't think it'll make it a standard sample of my videos thread, unless people really enjoy it. Have fun!
  21. Here's our winter league'week 7 game. Date start to come up randomly I know but you know, games are games! Like I said previously, Worked on getting out more and challenging more and found that I'm more confident than I used to be when I stopped playing a couple years ago as I can now better keep up with incomming rushes. Probably due to me being more patient, trying not to make the first move and getting burned everytime! Also, been listening to a lot of Trav4Oilers videos and I honnestly think they helped me a ton. Anyway, let me know what you think. Cheers.
  22. The baseball bat though. I have so many questions!
  23. So I've been playing more and more since word has started to get around that I'm back in the game, and I've been getting more calls to sub. That makes for more video material but less time to edit and post it! So I'm trying to catch up but am failing miserably at it. Here's a sub I got off of Facebook with a gang I had never played with before. These were all people in very good shape so fast players and fast developing plays. All in all lot's of fun and a good calibre fit too. Enjoy. Oh yeah, camera is screwed up for good and hard resets every single time I turn it off so please be considerate about the time stamp, new camera just came in today so not too many more videos with this nuisance. Also, keep your eyes open for the next video, I'm trying something new. Cheers.
