  1. I'm confused. What do you mean what shells he sells? Do you mean it's more unclear which shell you are getting?

I see it much clearer in this post

I'd say too big for you. The one thing going for your favor is being used to a loose pad Any chance you can check them out at a local store? @djtendy - any feedback after testing the EF3 today?

Measuring ATK from ankle up, im 18.5" i wear a size 10 skate If I were buying at retail, I would do an L. The medium is better than XL, but my knee hits the top of the block. There is no way to wear a 1S tightly and that's why I suggest sizing down. In the XL, my knee would hit the block and then slide off the bottom on quick moving plays what size are your p4s? Strap them loose or tight?

1S blocker is probably the best part about the supreme line. That is definitely not just a blocker.
  6. Website is updated... Don't worry, this isnt like GoalieStore!

I don't have numbers, but there are definitely way more Bauer in CHL and NCAA than ever before. Bauer is blitzing the kids with hopes that guys who make the NHL stick their gear. Each NCAA team has a different goalie program. At some schools, the goalies can wear whatever. At others, the starter can get whatever and the back ups have to wear gear from the sponsorship. One of the reasons that EF3 is so popular in the NHL is that it's a modern take on a traditional pad. It's less of a departure for a guy to wear an EF3 than a 1S. It doesn't mean that Bauer won't grow like a weed in the long term. I hope this is not coming off a Bauer fan boy because I am not. I think the 1S has some major flaws. I just think Bauer is doing an amazing job with pushing the limits of what's possible right now and it's paying off. From a marketing a long term approach, I think they did the right thing ditching the traditional pad, but I get that it's only my opinion. I also agree that 1S and 1X should have more differentiation. I bet the lines will evolve over time. I also know that more custom options are slated for retail which will help people dial in the pads more as well.

I have not tried the 1X yet. 1X will also have a double break vs single break in 1S. If I were to stick with Bauer, I think the next gen Supreme will be exactly what I want. It's a weird boat... I think Bauer is pushing the issue of a modern pad and I respect that. As we all know, Knee rolls are pointless now and it's kinda silly that Leferve was integral in trying to kill the knee rolls and is reviving them with EF3. If it was not for a Price endorsement, that pad would not exist. I understand that Bauer is loosing part of the market by killing the Reactor line, but I think they are okay being full steam ahead as a tech leader. I think they will leave that niche to goalie specific companies that specialize on customization. Brian's Heritage line is solid and that will pick up a nice audience. Everyone can get the pad they want, but not every company is focused on being everything to everyone. Look at it from a marketing standpoint. Was Bauer more represented in CHL, NCAA, and Pros with NXG / Reactor combo or 1S / 1X?

If I were buying these at retail, I'd probably request an L. Haven't found any as a good deal used. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like 1S holds its value. To sell it in a timely manner, you loose on it. People who try to maintain a reasonable sale price don't sell it. Pads are $1800 new. My red set was mint and I got it for $700 shipped. I sold it for $630 shipped like 60 days later? I was dumb enough to think I might make a couple bucks because I thought $700 was a steal!!! I moved out of XL because I couldn't find a combo of strapping that I liked and kept my knees hitting the blocks. I literally have bruises from my knee missing the landing. however, seeing 6'1" Reimer in M and 6'4" Oettinger in XL made me think that it wasn't fair to write off 1S without trying a smaller size. As of today, my feeling is that the performance is outstanding. The durability is suspect and the strapping system / leg needs a revamp. I already know that a few of my concerns are addressed in the next gen pads. In a perfect world, I'd want 1X strapping on 1S like Dubby. Options is not yet available at retail

  13. What review or initial impressions are people most interested right now? CCM Pro Return Pants, Warrior Jock, Howard 9500 Glove, True Goalie Stick, or Bauer Sweat Bands?
  14. Awesome, I am glad they accommodated that. I would love to hear a comparison of how Primo slides compared to his last set after they arrive.
  15. Nice montage from @Joe Messina with most of the 2017 Brian's stand out pro set ups. Disappointed he missed Raanta which was one of my favorite graphics. I felt the Halak graphic was his best to date

@MadsM - I agree with the comments above, that's definitely not correct. I'd look at getting that replaced or repaired by the Vaughn
  17. I didn't ask before, but I have a sinking feeling he won't do a CCM clone. Probably a conflict of interest of some sort @chakal - an insider info?

Was sent to me by a follower on IG. Assuming these are from GGSU 1S graphic on next gen Supreme pad. Please do not post these images on other social media and/or mention they came from here. What little repour we are building with Bauer will instantly dissolve! Based on the images, it looks like an S Curve is now possible. I'm assuming that a double break / pre curve is standard or an option the calf wing on the current 1S is recessed. It looks like it's now flush with the inner edge of the pad Toe toe bridge is now offset only, no option for standard or offset

Great Stuff. Kind of confirms what I was saying, my Brian's is more like a 34+3
  20. TheGoalNet

    Bauer Gear

That's basically my exact issue! I will not be keeping this set long term. I currently have a GNetik 35+2 so 37" total and the Bauer is 36+1 so 37" total. I was thinking an 1" in the knee wouldn't kill me. Unfortunately, I cannot find a strapping set up that leaves me happy in this pad. Also, from what I heard, Brian's 35+2 is really a 34+3... So in an ideal world, I would want a Medium + 1 and that would be 34+2. Given the stiffness of this pad, I recommend sizing down if you are between sizes or questioning the size. From what I have seen on the Bauer customizer, this is NOT an option. So if you are a P4 33+2, you could consider a S or M Bauer. You will either be going with a shorter pad or a taller knee cradle.
  21. I literally have never heard a bad thing about him and only have had positive experiences with him myself. It's a shame he doesn't have access to the new CCM shell style. I just love the look of that mask.

    Bauer Gear

You are correct. Bauer is doing M, L, etc but those sizes do correspond to traditional sizing. In my case an XL is basically a 36+1.
