  1. Well I'm lucky. Got through my company on a lease deal and got it cheap. The buyout is high but payment is low so I'll just get another one in a few years
  2. I did. I want the shoes but without being able to try them on I'm not risking another wrong size. I literally did exactly what the site says and it was way too small. I really like the blocker and I think I might order one. Definitely the best ball hockey blocker possible. I have a 2nd VE8 pro carbon glove I don't use that's all white i might modify for a ball hockey glove and use those two. Might also buy some V9 pads for ice and use these V8 ones for ball. They are disgustingly soft so might work well
  3. They just said they are sure it's a 60 which who knows maybe I'm wrong but it's not even close to the other 5 60 degree gloves I have. The shoes not close to fitting kind of sucked because I liked them a lot. Spending 2k I figured they would be able to maybe do something with the glove or I don't know. Oh well i think I might buy some new V9 ice pads instead. Their loss
  4. Talked to Passau today and they said it's a 60° break. Doesn't seem like it at all and that all I've ever used. With no resolution i ended up returning it and shipping it back to them today. Depressing and I'm not very happy about it and I'll probably never buy anything from Passau again. They had no interest in helping me with any of it at all. Oh well I'll be blowing that money on some other gear this week I guess
  5. How often do you put it on?
  6. Did you ever try this stuff out
  7. Ya that's what I'm thinking but the 2s might go on sale. But then again who can resist a new set of 3s
  8. Ya I've been wondering if I should get different pads lately myself. I have the VE8 Pro Carbon ones. 34+2 but there's something about then I just couldn't get totally use to. I am new (last year) to ice hockey goalie. I tried a friend's pads which were Vaughn SLRs and really likely them. So I decided to buy Vaughns but didn't pay attention that the Velocity line is was softer. Last night i tried his SLRs again and likely them more. But they don't feel overly more stiff. Definitely stiffer but maybe because they are a few years old they are loosing up. Also noticed they are much better for sliding even without the quick slide. Trying to decide which pads to get now. The SLRs or the V9s. As you can imagine I didnt sleep good last night because of this
  9. Worth noting also that the V8 vs V9 are way different in similar sizing. I believe it was Seagoal above who pointed it out on one of his threads of new Vaughn pads I'm obsessed with reading
  10. That set is from one of the new Leafs signings G/f. Was a picture of her wearing it. She's a model. I was more interested in the gear
  11. Selling after 20/25 ice times. Bought a better fitting custom Brown. Size medium. This is in next to mint condition, zero signs of wear. Beefed up from Vaughn factory and added 2nd shoulder cap like on NHL units. Very light and mobile. $350 USD Located in NS Canada willing to ship wherever
  12. The shoes are a great buy i found out. I'm still buying them. Also the blocker is awesome. I'll be keeping that. Just not a fan of a 90 degree glove. I don't know why they said 60 on the site. Kind of pisses me off I was pumped for it.
  13. Got the order today. Lots to talk about. 1. Love the blocker. Might be the best ball hockey blocker i have felt just putting on. Super light, not bulky, lots of movement but you can hold the stick very easy. 2. Pads feel decent. Definitely look like they are high quality. They look much MUCH stiffer than my normal ones so they might need some getting used to. Also very light and the 32+2 fit me perfect even though I usually wear a 34+2 ice hockey Vaughn set. Strapping system is easy and very good. 3. Shoes i went by their sizing system and then feel too tight. Not sure why. I even picked the bigger size of what i measured when I did. I'm not sure I can use them they are so tight. 4. The bad. The glove. I can't lie I actually hate the glove. The major problem is the web site says it's a 60° break but there's no way it is. My Vaughn Velocity XP glove is suppose to be a 60 and side by side it's way more of a break. To the point I can't use it. It's as close to a 90° as I've ever used. Not sure my options because i want to use the set but there's no way I'm keeping this. So today started out great getting new gear but it's depressing when you don't like some of it. The only thing I really needed replaces was my glove. I only bought the set because hell why not. I love buying new gear. Here are a few pics but you can clearly see the glove is a close to a 90°. I've contacted them but they are not in Friday's apparently.
  14. Ya that's probably the best idea. Thanks
  15. Curious to how you found the V9 for protection wise? Most reviews say it's more protection than normal stock Vaughn c/as but I've never tried it
  16. Thinking about selling my Vaughn VE8 Pro Carbon chest protector. Had a few people ask about it but I don't know an asking price really. Still new to gear buying. Size Senior Medium VE8 pro carbon Beefed up by Vaughn Added 2nd shoulder pad at Vaughn factory Excellent condition. Roughly 20-25 ice times. I love the thing and considered keeping it but the arms are too small for my reach. I'm a few inches or more longer than the suggested length and after one shot to the wrist area it was enough The unit actually costed me a decent coin but it's used and that is life. Interesting to see what people think
  17. I'm curious as well because next year when I have a better idea what I want Im ordering a custom Vaughn set. Hope some people help
  18. Third ice time last night and I'm starting to really like it. Close to broken in already. I did however have an elbow strap come undone when I was playing and the clip went on the ice. The paper he gives you suggests to keep them attached or taped i forget, which I did not. I specifically remember looking at it and thinking "I don't need that....". Well now I would suggest it. Great movement. Nothing more than feeling a few picks and I played against some really good players last night. But the most obvious thing to me is that if you decide to get one made I think it's definitely worth the little extra to get the Russian spec. I don't even know if there is much of a difference you feel when wearing it because i never had the normal on but it's not like it's this gigantic chest protector now, it's just a really well protected one
  19. Played second game tonight with my new Brown. It was night and day better than the first. First night I was a complete gas can. Started to get use to it. Playing tomorrow night I'm hoping it's as good
  20. I think it's an option and it just includes the few things. It's what i did. Extra rib/bicep, heavy plastic on floaters. 100% worth it
  21. Nice I am playing the next three nights. Hopefully it does it
  22. First quick reviews are that trying it on with my gear it takes adjustments. Felt VERY restrictive (like any new unit would) at first but after adjusting a bunch of stuff how I like it and trial and error it fits very well. I look forward to trying it hopefully Friday
  23. Driving home after picking it up. This is not as bulky as the pictures so. Definitely looks like i will like it
