  1. Does anyone remember the Puck Off song by Panthera for the Stars? Do they still use it? Don’t watch the Stars play unless the Sharks are playing them!

I can never keep up with all the subgenres in metal. I can hear the differences, I couldn't ever tell you what they're called though.

I've got such a random plethora of metal bands that it's tough to go: here is what I listen to. But I'll list a few to show off my hipster status.

    Chimaira
    Lamb of God
    Aphyxion
    At the Gates
    ISIS
    Obituary
    Opeth
    Rivers of Nihil
    etc.

Hipster status 😆. Each to there own! But I can get on board with Chimaira, Opeth, Obituary for sure.

The technical skill required to play most of this music is mind-blowing. Play-through videos show how skilled these artists are. Young musicians have greater, easily accessible resources to learn in today's modern world. Similar to goaltending, there are new techniques that musicians use to play better and faster. They can also earn money by playing live to an online audience who give donations. I like the drummer 66Samus who creates Youtube videos and streams on Twitch.

I didn't mention before, I also listen to the legends of the '80s and '90s. Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Sepultura, Testament, Pantera, White Zombie, Type O Negative, Life of Agony, Biohazard. Their predecessors Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden. I should listen to more Judas Priest. '00s and '10s bands like Five Finger Death Punch, Volbeat and Alterbridge. Of course, the hard rock classics like AC/DC and Led Zeppelin.

I'm sure I'm leaving out a ton of bands.

I do enjoy 66Samus from time to time! I do like my 80s thrash for sure. Nuclear Assault, Demolition Hammer to stray from the Big 5. Even Immortal! They were fun live.

  4. Yeh, I get that. My old CD collection of near 509 CDs was predominantly death and its sub sub genres. When I finally parted ways with it, I gave in to the streaming platforms. My taste had always been varied, but I think since using streaming, it’s changed a lot.

But a huge nod to Morbid Angel and Deicide. Archspire blew my mind first listen!

  5. Hey everyone

Apologies to mods if there is a thread similar, I couldn’t find one.

Anyone into death metal? Or any other styles of metal?

Whats you pre game song? In a band? Discuss!

  6. Hey everyone.

TTT, I used to be on the GSBB once upon a time. Formerly Count Buffo. Had been playing for 8/9 years. Unable to play anymore, but love the sport too much to stay away from it! Love everything to do with the most unique position in any sport! And love talking to like minded people about it all!

    See ya around!

Me too , a fan since 94.  The reason I wear #20 is Nabokov.

I watch a ton of Sharks games and out east I like the Predators.

Brett Burns is probably my favorite not-goalie :)

EDIT: East of us. I know the Preds are not an Eastern Conference team.  My favorite EC team is Boston.

I went more classic and wore #1. But for the Sharks I loved Nabby, Irbe, Niemi, Jones, Hayward, Shields!

Burnsy for me too! Flyers and Chicago for me!

    Hey, welcome to the forum.

I have been a Sharks fan for a while.  Them vs Vegas is some of my favorite hockey to watch.  Everyone seems to think Seattle will feud with Vegas and Vegas (including the league, scheduling their first ever game and first home game vs them, respectively), but I'm hoping for some rivalry with the Sharks.

Are you in the bay area?

Sharks fan since 94’! Yeh Sharks/Knights is good stuff, but I’m hoping for a Seattle rivalry for sure.

    Nah mate, UK!
