Vision and feel are the primary goals. Plus it looks pretty sick (from the face of the glove). By no means was it easy to get on there this first time. Probably had to try at least 12 different ways to lace it before settling on this iteration. I probably take an excessive amount of pride in having gear that’s different from everyone’s which is what causes things like this mesh pocket and white goalie pants.

I am a Flyers fan living in Chicago and I Didn't give 2 shits about that game. Shame on the NHL for televising garbage in a game of the week.
The fact that Florida and Colorado are the best 2 teams in the league doesn't probably help. If NYR goes deep in the playoffs, ratings should be okay?
Scoring is way up and hockey is exciting for casual fans. It's on ESPN. This makes no sense...The thing I was most excited about with the new TV deal was I thought I would get a plethora of games on ESPN/ESPN2. That is unfortunately not what we got. Everything is ESPN+. Such a shame.

Did the NHL extend this season? When do playoffs start? I see that the Flyers have games through next week.
They need to award the cup by Memorial Day. June is summer.
There was a 2 week break built in where the Olympics were supposed to be played. Well, where the NHL players were supposed to play.

I have a 2021 custom 2400. I love the fact it's a complete tank. Never get hurt (yet). The only problem is what everyone knows and I knew is that its heavy. Also the arms are not very mobile. Wondering if there are any mods people have done with them to make the arms (globe mostly) more mobile? I usually make l alot of glove saves and am not a butterfly goalie. More of a train wreck scramble. Any input is appreciated.
I really want to make this one work because it's so nice to wear something you feel almost invincible in.
I have remember to take new pictures of mine because the ones from page one are no longer working.

I think Andrew @ Bauer ordered my Hyperlite pads/gloves back at the end of Oct. 2021 and I got them the first week of January 2021. Not too bad at all! I probably should post them up at some point.

Your English cousin is coming in to get a new kidney and your (close-ish) relative is giving it to him.
You’re welcome
Lol. I can't just take off for the game. I mean, I could, I have the time. I just can't afford to waste it on a beer league game. I need it for everyday life and for travel games in case they pop up.

We have another championship game this Wednesday night but I am stuck at work. Trying to get a shift swap or swap days off. Not looking good though. This is our 3rd straight in 3 seasons since becoming a team. 0-2 so far.

Ace Hardware. It's just standard pvc tubing. Dirt cheap.
Got it. That size tubing is bigger than I thought it would be

Quick, easy little mod today for less than $1. I had to buy a new cage for my helmet after a shot to the face dented one of the bars. I noticed it scatched the paint on the forehead just a bit from the impact.
You can see the scratch to the right of the vertical bar here
To the left of that bar is the mod I did today, installing vinyl tube wraps to the cage at a few points on the forehead and the chin, like how a lot of Bauer helmets come stock. This is a great addition to a cage to help protect paint jobs.
This was super easy and quick and it cost me $.89.
Here is the size tube I used which works best for helmet cages
Minor little surgery down the center to open it up
Then just cut 6 pieces to wrap on the cage, 2 pieces on each side of center up top and 1 piece on each side of center at the bottom
I put these on now without taking the cage off since this is the bent one, so some were more difficult to get on than others. Obviously these should be wrapped from the back so the slit is not behind the cage enabling them to easily come off. When the new cage comes in I'll install the wraps before putting the cage on the helmet so I'll be able to get them on tighter and a bit more cleanly.
As a bonus, this vinyl tubing is perfect for dangler dampening on the chin. I haven't put these on this helmet yet because I haven't yet been able to bring myself to putting super glue on this paint job.....it's still too new and exciting for me.
Where’d you get the tubing? I wanna get some.

On Friday, I lost my virginity on the lacrosse goal. I finally got beat on it. Usually I just stay on my dinosaur feet and move to the other post and the puck hits me in the chest. No big deal with my outdated "technique" of staying on my feet. This time I got outsmarted.
A really good player was to my left in the corner with the puck and no one pressuring him (not a surprise) with another good player wide open between the rings in the slot. I was up against my left post (the way a dinosaur like me would be) expecting him to pass to the man in the slot. The skater with puck however began to skate to the back of the net where he had done the Gretzgy pass over the net 4 or 5 times. So I got low on my skates getting my head under the cross bar and expected the puck to come over the crossbar to the man in the slot. Instead, the SOB lacrossed my backside on my right and tucked the puck in the upper right corner. First time I've been beaten on it. Oh the humiliation and shame. The skater tapped my pads and smirked. (I had been kicking his backside all night). Of course with my previously noted big mouth, I congratulated him on a nice move and called him a donkey hole. His smirk turned into a laugh.
Sounds like a world class dbag.

I get any stick that has a chip or minor crack. If he doesn’t want it they just give them away or auction them online to fans. He told me 25in and P31 when I asked though his stick definitely felt a little more whippy so it could have been a V2 underneath not V1. Sadly I’m no longer in Austin to stock up on sticks.
Gotcha. Ok no worries. I have too many sticks as it is. Warrior sticks just do not break.

If you’d like I can try and ask for a few next season. Their equipment managers have given me a few of his sticks as well as ordered a few in my own team colors. I had to pay of course for the ones in my team colors since they were new
They gave you some of his sticks for free? What are his specs? Lol

Your suggestion is something to think about. Might give it a try. Directions say to mist but not saturate, and let air dry. I usually put in front of fan so I could re-bag everything the next morning.
Ok thanks. I think I am leaning towards Clear Gear but the Sweat X is my #2. As far as the second part of your post, yea just dry everything out as you already do and then spray everything down with the Sweat X right before you pack it away. That way it has a chance to get into everything before being prematurely dried by the fans blowing on it.

Last night my Veteran team the LI Warriors played on the UBS Arena ice after the Islanders - Blue Jackets game. We were issued the worst seats in the house at a group discounted rate. Literally the last row against the wall in the upper bowl, thanks Islanders lol. Plus we were separated all over the place. It was pretty empty so the group of guys that I was seated near all moved down to better seats. It was my first time at UBS since it opened. The arena is beautiful. Lots of open space in the concourses. Lots of places to get food, different bars strewn about. The Islanders have always marketed themselves as "Long Island's team" so I found it odd that 90% of their in arena branding is all NYC themed. They have the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building everywhere. You can practically see MSG in a lot of their in arena promos lol.
Anyway, I made the stupid mistake of going to the game without eating in about 6 hours so I spent a mortgage payment on food. A delicious double cheeseburger with grilled onions and some "special sauce", 2 hot dogs, 2 trays of fries, a pretzel braid, and I think 4 waters throughout the night. Suffice it to say, I was not feeling well come game time lol. I could barely bend over to tie my skates.
I have to say, this experience was leaps and bounds better than a similar experience playing at the Nassau Coliseum some years ago. We had a much better area to get changed and ample time to do so. They actually cut the ice for us, and they weren't rudely rushing us on and off the ice. We played to a very fun 2-2 tie and no one knew what to do immediately afterwards. Our arena host happily told us we were able to play a 4 shot shootout which we ended up losing 2-1. Oh well.
I played at MSG quite a few years ago as well and last night I found myself making the same mistakes that I made when I played at MSG. I was too into prepping for the game and focusing on the game that I didn't give myself a chance to really absorb the experience. Aside from the group picture at the end, I didn't take any pictures. Not with my own phone nor posing with any team mates for pictures. I didn't take much time to look around the arena from the ice. I didn't soak it in as much as I feel I should/could have. All in all though, it was a fun night. Fun fact, we have weekly practices as the Islanders' practice facility. The ice is better there than it is at UBS lol.
There was a photographer on hand, I'll have to get some pictures to add to the action shot thread.

Yea I guess you're right, good point. I also wish it was more similar to the way ESPN broadcasts their college football content. If a game is on any channel that falls under the ESPN umbrella it is streamed for free on their app. No ESPN+ sub needed.
