And the normal ripping of arms material will still occur...
I haven't noticed any wear in the inner arms yet and I've worn it a few times a week for the last month.

This thing is selling for $900? Retail chest for $900?? I will say however, my local shop usually coordinates with Bauer and CCM to make their own spec units, beefing things up. I asked if they were doing that with this one and they said no way. The rep said this is an NHL spec unit for protection and sizing. So basically a retail unit that is actually made for the NHL?
Correct this thing is as beefed up as it gets. Take the upcharge you do on a beefed up Bauer unit and it would be about the same. Retail of 750 USD.

Are you still able to add the internal professor strap?
I'm sure if you wanted to you could tie it into the leg channel cording. But I'm not going to.

Sick pads! What’re the specs you got? Also do you have the internal like professor strap thing I think they call it the QMSS2 or something like that
Pads are a single core single outer break
Maxcore rebound
3d grip
Fixed below knee strap
Loose fit with 2 straps
Sold boot.
I opted for regular straps instead of the qmss straps as I have big calf's and I hate tight fitting pads.

Thanks for the info. Custom is staying essentially the same then?
Yes, as far as I know.

As per the new 2024 catalogue, there's no senior price point for the supreme line.
There's new colours on the X5 Pro stuff and that's it.
Might be a strategic movement based on sales numbers perhaps? If I recall their best selling price point pad at the retail level was the 3X which points to heavier demand for squishier pads overall.
Here is the Bauer leg pad line up for season 24..

They were more or less the same stiffness profile as Ultrasonic/Shadow with the 120 degree boot.
Pretty stiff overall pad, especially compared to Hyperlite/x5
Not from my experience with them. I found them soft, but definitely not as soft as slr3 pros.

so they will only offer the vapor pads and no more senior level stiff pads?
The m5 pros were never really stiff, but yes. 1 senior mid price point pad.

with the M5 discounted and no senior line in the new Bauer release will Bauer push something out that's not their usual spring release?
Not necessarily. They condensed the pads down to the x5 pro. There will be two gloves available at the middle price point. The x5 pro supreme and x5 pro vapor. Same graphic though.

Anything you can add to this now? What about the rest of the goalie skates, staying the same with the TF9 and 7, as well as the custom options?
There will be 3 levels of retail goalie states 5x4,7x4, and the 9x4 along with custom one and two piece. The heels are reinforced with a protective pad over them. And the sides mimic the custom skates. The new insert in the heel/ankle is supposed to mimic the articulation of a konekt.

I'm in the All Out customizer and believe that some specs are missing in the glove, and blocker. For example I can't even hit the type of glove I want, pro, game ready etc....some specs for the blocker are missing as well....
The all out customizer isn't even available to the public at the moment. But if you're in the total custom then there will be less options for spec...

The floaters definitely feel thicker and bulkier as they aren't as segmented around the shoulders. I forgot to measure the thickness between the two before I shipped the 18 to the new owner. The arms were a little stiff the first period of play but after that it felt a lot better.
-
After getting to use this thing I can say it fits bulkier than the 18. My only gripe so far is that the wrist straps are nylon with not much room for adjustment as opposed to the old elastic one.
-
For those interested, the qmss2 is adjustable internally now as well. Instead of being sewn in like the axis 2 and ef6, it velcros to the internal calf strap and can be adjusted internally and externally.

I'll post the arms side by side later. Im at my full time job until tomorrow morning. But these aren't special orders so not available without the additional flap.

I kinda was expecting the retail version to be a tad less, meaning not as thick in the arms and belly making it more flexible, lighter, but no less protective for the non-pro keepers...and no more expensive since it's off the rack, not custom. This is where Sezzle and other programs will come in handy.
@Madmedic6 is the overall fit the same? Does it sit the same on the shoulders? is the wrap the same? Anything else you can mention?
Fit for fit to the 18ab is the same. Though the new unit has a additional 4" of soft foam sewn to the bottom of the abdomen , like the removable part of the ef6 chesty (not removable on pro spec).
