Yes, I know these nuances. I'm more interested in the difference in sensations from the interaction of my feet with skates and ice.
in any case, thank you very much for your response

I personally felt more stability in the 1 piece due to its completely rigid construction. I feel rivets will have a tendency to flex a little with the plastic.

Can anyone share their experience of riding 1 piece and 2 piece? How much difference is there in the height of the skate and the inclination of the holder? Will the transition from 2 pieces to 1 piece be smooth or will it take some getting used to?

I will be grateful for any feedback

One piece use less energy transfer and the pitch of the skate itself is more neutral than the two piece. Attack angle is also different given the height difference between the blades and boot. One piece only come in 4mm steel, while you can get 3mm or 4mm for two piece.

Those are sweet. Let us know how you like their new tongue, debating between that or the traditional t-guard tongue

The new tongue has more segments for flexibility in the skate bite guard, potential for laces to get stuck in there and bite.. The back seems more perforated than the last model and slightly harder on the back. Here's my custom 1 piece from last year vs the new 2 piece boots.

I wonder if the pro palm is the difference, then. Maybe I'll do a video similar to yours to show the closure. Mine's pretty damn snappy. Sucks that they couldn't seem to get it right. Oh well, hopefully your 580 arrives soon! 😜

Comes with the territory of buying gear to give customers feedback. Atleast I used the 581 longer than I used my machs last year.  😬😬

So far for me, the ccm 580 break in is going very well. Not as buttery as your True 580 video shows but I've only had two skates with it so far. But based on progress to this point I'm confident it will get there. Mine's a pro palm as well.

Compared to your 581 video though, mine seems to have broken in quite a bit better and I have not had those issues! Strange....mine wasn't custom though, and is just a game ready palm. Is yours a pro palm?

Mine is pro palm. Total custom pro. Baked twice and 2+ skates a week since late July... even did ccm's tied bake that I had to do for the 20 retail gloves we have in stock.

What size skates do you wear? Last time I got my feet scanned it said suggest custom due to width and volume. As for the 581, after using it 2+ times a week for almost 2 months I didn't like the stiffness, lack of finger stalls, and the t. I much rather the lobster claw than a mutated 590/580

Glove presentation was also another factor. The 581 would present as open and stay open like I can the regular 580. Oddly enough the 581 almost felt like I had to pull the palm to the fingers and was a lot more effort to close. Fingers crossed that my ccm 580 pro palm is as buttery as my true pro palm.

I've had tf9's on my radar for a while now - currently have a pair of Vapor 1x's. Are the tf9's just not the right fit for your foot shape? Re: the 581, I wish I had more ice times that I could dedicate to getting used to it because I think it has a lot of potential. Was it just the pop-outs for you, or was it that wrist pad that you didn't like? I find when I catch it clean it's extremely satisfying but just doesn't funnel as nice as a traditional glove.

    Lol change is hard!

Not when it's for the better. I likes my 2 piece but the tf9's were killing my feet and I was tired of waiting on my custom 2 piece to come in. But the 581 was just not to my liking.

Haha, yes I completely agree! I wonder if that could actually be swapped, that would be amazing. The internal strapping in the 581 feels so good - when you have it dialed in the glove is an extension of your hand compared to the 580 which always feels like it's kind of sloshing around and loose. But that thing really does swallow up pucks. I've had one practice and a game with it, and for me at least, the 580 hype is real. When's yours arriving?

Was quoted 10-12 weeks. Currently at week 8. :/

I'd say go for it. Full right options/in stock are pretty rare as you know so if you're already leaning towards the 580 it's hard to resist. Pretty happy with mine so far - the one thing I wish they had done was brought over the crossform strapping that my 581 has. But mines got a good closure and adjusting from a 590 has been pretty effortless.

See!!! I made that comment about the cross form strap as well. Half tempted to send my ccm 580 and 581 out when it gets in and have a shop swap the cross form strap into the 580. But have  since gone back to my true 580 while waiting for my ccm 580 and all my issue have resolved.

Elvis testing True, would suck to see him leave Bauer he has had some great sets with them. Also curious about this glove, looks similar to Gibson’s 2 piece

The glove is in fact a 2 piece. Took this photo this morning.

I think a couple members here have spoken to Brian's reps and the reps hinted or outright said there's something similar to a 90 degree coming. Some members on the board have seen the customizer and it does look like a 580-style break.

Tgn had them make him a 90 optik2.

I've got the 581 as well, and just ordered a 580 from Proskate in Calgary (skate lace, single T, pro palm) - should have it in a few days and I'm super curious to see how the two compare. The 581 was my first experience with any sort of 580 inspired break and I liked it quite a bit. First two skates were a big adjustment but by the third I was feeling quite comfortable.

I didn't have the negative reaction to the wrist pad like you did, but I agree it's kind of prominent. The closure for me is getting flatter over time as I work it in more, but I hear what you're saying re: the hot dog bun, haha. Maybe not a whole bun, but possibly just the dog? (Nope, not gonna say wiener 😅)

Anyway, hoping the 580 ships shortly. I believe you said you were thinking about ordering a 580 too...did you ever pull the trigger?

    #fullrightrules

I ordered my 580 the week before delivery just Incase I didn't like it. Mine should be in by the end of next month.

You should grab a Warrior G6.1, Vaughn 70Xp, and the rumoured Brian's 90 degree glove and do a full comprehensive review.

Take one for the team. 😮

I have heard the rumors of a 90* Brian's, and they have done them in the past. I'll try to track down a 70xp. I have access to a 6.1 e+.

Not sure if that's a compliment to Bauer's Vapor 580... or if Lefevre's 580 has changed... I'll find out today... L20.2 is out for delivery.

Of course I'm joking some... but the feel of Koho/CCM Lefevre gloves were just incredible. My Axis 580 while having the same break angle also has some updates to it that changed the feel for me. Compared to my short lived stint in a Bauer 2X Pro... break angle aside... Bauer gloves just felt SOOO much different. Not bad... just very different. So to hear that they're comparable is interesting to me.

I will agree that Bauer gloves feel different. I will also say retail/custom ccm 580 will feel different than each other depending on which assembly line they came out of. My only gripe with Bauer gloves is they are tight along the back of my fingers when closed.

  17. I have been in a 590 break since 2004 and wanted to give a 580 a try last year and won't look back. It does take some adjustment though. I will only use a 580 style from now on. For what its worth, the newly publicly released vapor 90 is almost identical to a lefevre 580 minus some things, but the feel is spot on. Hopefully by the end of next month I'll be able to post a true, ccm, and Bauer 580 side my side and their closures.

I'm pretty sure Elvis is in a once piece glove. I took the video real quick after a skate but I can't remember for certain. I'll get more pics at training camp.
