Closure is different feeling but this is quite possibly the first actual game ready ccm I've ever put on. Completely forgot that it only had a pinky and index loop and not actual stalls

Did you get a chance to use it, or even throw a puck or a ball into it? Or was this strictly trying it on in a store...

Nice. Well, I will provide full feedback when mine arrives. Based on your impressions I'm feeling cautiously optimistic.

Just felt one today and if it's anything close to that you're in for a treat

Well this is excellent news...do tell. How does it compare to the Axis 2 you've been using?

I’m 6’2 using 26s shaved like this (this is Askarov’s mine looks a lot more like a garage project)

I’ve never measured how much I cut off or anything but its somewhere in the 24.5/25 range I’m guessing. In other words its super short for my height by “older” people’s standards

I'm 6'1 and use a 24 inch CCM. The shorter paddle just frees up your movement especially in a lower stance and in the butterfly 👍

Great goalie, but his sticks are an abomination 😬

  6. Bobrovsky's new Trues are the first Hzrdus pair that I actually like. I think the key is to use big blocks of colour and ignore all the thin/segmented/angled Tetris blocks.

  7. Ahhh, okay now I get it. I was confused at first too but now it makes sense. The way you've inverted the crossform strap is interesting. I can see how that actually might work quite well. Thanks for sharing.

At the rate it's breaking in it should be about 1-2 weeks before it's truly game ready. I'll still use it whenever I can until then I'll be following a mixture break in methods, mainly TGN's (alternating opening and closing the glove every 24 hours as well as working the glove in by hand)

If you can, give it a couple of good bakes as well. I found the foams and d30 in my 581 responded really well to heat and it made a big difference.

Nothing complex just a sewn in loop for now. I'll make it adjustable on the 2in version. I also trimmed a piece of lace on the backhand to allow me to close it fully without restriction. Not sure why ccm didn't do that instead of opting for the hideous thing they did to skinner and Markstrom's gloves. It also allows the backhand to open fully as shown in the pictures.

Thumb angle still isn't great but it feels like the thumb funnels well though the fingers don't. It's a hard piece to photograph so hopefully that pic gets the idea across

Yup that looks very similar to the 581. It's unfortunate because the pocket is pretty nice and deep with these gloves. It just needs to be matched with a thumb/palm/fingers that flows from and compliments it better so everything works together. But it also might be something you can really get used to over time so it's worth a shot!

  10. How is the thumb angle, and the angle of the palm in general? What I mean by that is, is it somewhat flat or does it funnel and angle back into the pocket? I have the 581 and it's been worked in really nicely, but the one outstanding issue I've always had is the angle of the palm and the thumb. Relative to the pocket, and in comparison to other gloves it's really flat and tends to meet the puck at a perpendicular angle if you miss the pocket, which results in more pop-outs than I'd like. Hopefully that description makes sense. 😅

Might just give the buyer the option of with glove. Might use it. Who knows. I ordered some Digi print eft6 yesterday so we shall see. 🤷

    The eternal quest continues 😅🙏

low and behold... It's arrived today. Just in time to go with a Bauer set I'm trying to sell.

So will you even use it? Or will you keep it and cancel the Bauer sale? Full cleanse or go all in and hoard? 😂

Here I am still waiting on a glove or ordered December 10th. 😅

Yikes. What sort of wait times was the customizer showing when you guys put your orders in?

  14. Oh man, I did not see that at all, initially. But I doubt anyone else will pick up on that?

If anyone ordering is curious about wait times, I placed a px3 order at the beginning of Feb and emailed True this morning to ask about where it is in the queue. She  replied right away, said she'd looked up my order number in their system and said it was on track to leave the factory on March 18th, which is pretty much right on 6 weeks. Very impressive customer service!

I'm genuinely curious why you guys believe that Pro's are getting an entirely different product line of gloves?

As for the topic at hand, only glove I had an issue with after buying new was my Vaughn SLR. Aside from that I've never encountered any issues with breaking in new gloves.

    RGT, RGT2, CCM 2.9, Mach, G6.

I know Warrior's are the absolute king for breaking in quickly, but even with my CCM and Mach I had zero issues taking them into game action immediately. I don't do any other break in processes aside from the standard opening and closing.

I've been getting pro palms and reinforced tees on my Bauers since Ultrasonic (so four models - US, HL1, Mach, HL2) and never had much of an issue breaking them in. I always put them in a baseball glove steamer - not too hot and for no more than 3 minutes - work it while it's warm and then tying it up at night. Plus the standard working-with-it-while-watching-some-TV. Always works great for me.

Did the same with all my CCMs (EF4, Axis 2, EF5), also ordered with pro palms and it worked great. The 580-break Axis 2 was especially good - it wowed a lot of customers and spawned more than a few custom orders.

I'm surprised you're having issues with Brian's - even their top of the line stuff isn't bad out of the box. The worst of the catchers off-the-shelf are the CCMs.

Agreed with both of these comments in terms of break in methods, and I also genuinely don't really understand the difficulty of breaking in a glove. I've broken in an eflex 6 580 (pro palm), 581 (game ready) and a l20.2 590 (game ready) just this year, and used all of them successfully after only having for a couple of days. Bake, tie shut, spread open, work it in non stop and then use it. There's no real mystery or secret sauce.

    get better material! : r/funny

I am also. I've been trying to get an order through of some rather stiff PX3s for a few weeks, but my local shop/rep has been very lax on it.

I put my order in with my local shop last Friday, single break core stiff, no break outer roll. Hopefully the currently listed wait time of 7-9 weeks holds 🤞

And I'll just say I'm glad the px3 graphic is not the hzrdus graphic 😂 @coopaloop1234

I also think the HZRDUS graphic has a ton that can be done with it. Tired of seeing people same the same talking points about it repeatedly, it's rather modular.

I recently talked to someone from The Goal Crease in Toronto, asking for clarification re: the 2023 customization options, and he said that if you chose the stiff core, that essentially meant you were choosing more rebound pop and not a stiffer flex. I wonder if the 2024 option is actually a different foam that produces hotter rebounds or if they're just separating it out as a different option in the customizer so it's less confusing...

After one game I'm inclined to agree.   Shuffles felt effortless, but I still had tons of bite to move while down.    I'm going to go to the set of steel with a regular 5/8" ROH on it for the next game and see if I notice a big difference.   I'm afraid I may be in the market for a new sharpener again...

The effortless shuffles while maintaining a lot confidence in the edge and bite for b-fly pushes is what sealed it for me. It just felt like the right combination of all those variables for me.

Good choice, think you’ll really enjoy these. Trues production times aren’t terrible right now either.

Yup, I think it's showing 9-11 weeks at the moment and hopefully it will be even less than that.

Good to hear. I'm pretty excited to give them a whirl and see if they're a good fit.

So, I ended up finding some lightly used Ti Pulse in my size on Nevermadeitprostock.com and shipped it and one pair of LS5G off to Noicing for a profile on the Ti and a refresh on the LS.   Nothing too interesting there.   But I did decide to try something new.  The LS5G got a Z-Channel 5/8ths equivalent.   First skate on them will be tomorrow night, so it'll be interesting to see what if any differences I notice.

I switched to a Z-channel 1/2 radius last year and I love it. Just the right amount of bite but a bit more glide than a regular sharpening. I use JRZ Pro Black DLC, 3mm.
