The starter is gorging on Thanksgiving right now.

Can't vote for or against him. I am only 16. But I smell the dressing and pies now Grandpa is taking me to my ice tiles right now to divert attention from that spectacle He's going to give me a few reps to work of Thanksgiving dinner

This is 'Murican Thanksgiving!

There's a dude at my home rink that rocks a set of Cooper Reactor pads and plays 90s butterfly in them and he moves quite well. He trips up my teammates with his stand up play.

Much to the despair of my Mom, Grandma and an Uncle, we are having a healthy Thanksgiving. Turkey is on the table, as are many vegetables. Stuffing is off the menu, as are mashed potatoes, mac'n'cheese, pumpkin pie and other bad for you things. Grandpa is for it, as he is giddy for me to get two more wins. Uncle is okay with it; Mom isn't, one Uncle and my Auntie are groaning. For all I know, there could be clandestine consumption of carbs, pies and other things bad for you not in my presence. That's okay. I really want to take the starting job. Black Friday is a day with two Stick and Puck and a Drop In, so even if I were to over eat, I would be fine. My weight lifting program since this summer has resulted in an overall gain of ten pounds of muscle and a loss of two pounds of fat. I wasn't overweight, but I needed some muscle for the season. Who else is having a healthy Thanksgiving dinner?

Just got back from a Stick and Puck using the X5 and I freaking love them! They are stiffer than the GSX, but I can get them in a variety of colors and don't have to padskin them, either! I can live with the extra stiffness, especially if the pads last longer. The GSX I tried were very soft, but were used an entire season like what I will be doing. I liked the blocker, as well! I used my dad's cheater glove and I caught everything! Shame I can't use that LOL Nobody recommended the X5 glove, however but I can get a Hyperlite glove fashioned like the old Reactor. I guess my dream gear changed a bit and True is out of the mix unless I just buy the glove. My Uncle will not allow me to get a Senior glove because of how screwed up his hand became as a result of the lack of padding. Somewhat related question: how close to my leather Battram glove is a Hyperlite closure?

My Dad, Grandpa and Uncle were all stand up goalies. My grandpa is 72, but is fit enough to strap them up. His old Coopers are in his man cave. All of his cool, old gear is there, and it goes with the mahogany paneling in there. My Dad and Uncle used to talk all the time about smoking his Cuban cigars when they were kids!

One of the goalies I am friends with on another team has X5, and I can try them out tomorrow! Thanks @johncho for the recommendation!

My Grandpa and Uncle have told me they will match what I have saved up for new pads if I get two more wins as they really thought I was going to ride the pine. My Grandpa was more impressed than anything because he says I'm a natural in goal. Grandpa likes the hybrid way I play. Between my Mom, Grandparents and Uncle, I will have a new set!

Dudo mentioned X5. I did some research and it's the lower end Vapor that is custom. Anyone play in those? Price is great and they allow custom colors.

I tried a buddy's pair of Bauer GSX and they were impressive. They were short on me, but I liked them a lot. Flexible, yet had some crazy rebounds compared to my TronX pads. Now here comes the hard part for me, they only come in a very few colors. What upper end Bauer pad is close to the GSX? I hear Bauer are stiff pads, so should I get the GSX and use a padskinz material?

Cleaning the glove has been interesting. The water was dark the second the glove entered the soapy water. My uncle prepped another bucket of cleaning solution while we let my glove soak for ten minutes. There was a lot of grey attaching itself to the white bits that floated to the surface of the water. So, the second water and cleaning solution was much clearer than the first tub. I rinsed the glove for ten minutes until the water ran clear. I hate to think of how much dead skin went into the drain. I took a sniff of my glove and it smelled great after this process. It is now stuffed with old newspapers and under a large fan. I have changed newspapers several times before just using a fan by itself. I bought Lexol leather treatment for the glove as it is 100% leather. I hope to leave this as supple as it was before cleaning the stink. It sure smells better than it did.

I lost a heartbreaker 5-4. Missing the star Dman really made a difference because he let me see every shot. I had to deal with a lot more bodies in front of me. Got a goal against on a late whistle from guys hacking at my glove. I kept my cool the entire game and Coach liked that. Coach kept his faith in me and put blame where it squarely belongs- on the team in front of me. I do get to start the next game on 11/26. I am going to put in extra reps all next week.

I wasn't even born yet.

Thankfully, my team is on break until next Friday after Saturday's game, so I have the time to unstink my glove. I have illegal gloves to use in my stick and pucks next week. Thanks for the tips!

Tonight, I am sitting. The starter is looking a bit shaky. I hope he's okay. Our star center is starting varsity tomorrow night because the varsity star center is on academic probation. I'm concerned about our star center playing too much because he's team captain and carries us. Beaner, our star D is out because of a broken hand. We are going to miss him on the blue line because his shot is scary. He's out until Christmas break. My wrapped helmet was received well by the team and the starter wants me to wrap his helmet.

My dad (RIP) played hockey and did before he passed. His gear smells okay, but I am way too big for everything he had and what I can use is not legal. Much of my gear is hand me down to see if I was going to stick with the position, so some of it has an odor. I repalmed my blocker and dry it on a boot dryer with my skates. I wash my helmet after a few ice times. But my catch glove stinks bad. What do I do?

My mom would buy one if she knew it worked.

I like the closure of my Battram leather glove. So that's what I take with me.

I want True like Marc Andre Fleury has, and coach okayed me getting that copper color. Now I have to see what works with my hand. There are so many closures. I guess go to Pure and see what works, huh?

Okay. My mom and grandparents are going to be getting me new gloves and blocker for Christmas.

Have you used him? I always hear about Factory Mad, but not this guy. Putting a glove under a pile of weights is the way I always hear and I dread the day I have to break a glove in.
