Just a quick 9 month update on my 1X set. Got these early July and have used them on average 2 or 3 times a week since then. I would guess around 100 games. I know Bauer gets ragged on lots on their build quality but no issues yet with durability. They are my first new set of pads in over a decade so I can't say if they perform better or worse than any other brands but I am loving them. Performance is amazing. Sliding and the massive lively rebounds are as good as day 1. No complaints at all so far. I'll probably keep them until they fall apart. Hopefully can get a couple more years out of them.

A couple pics of my two ProTechSports. The Belfour tribute is now a decade old and going great. Just got the 961 clone this year. Love them both. Paint coming eventually on the 961 once I get bored of the white.

In terms of pricing (retail, $Cdn) what's your guess on list price of 2S and 2S Pro? 1S is $329 Cdn...

@home0006 My Garon shell is now 10 years old and badly in need of new foam and straps so I just sent it to Michel for a refurb. Once I get it back I'll be able to give you a side by side comparison on fit between the 2. I did ask Michel about 961 fit before I ordered it and he said the 961 would work for me based on my mold I sent him. I guess it's a case by case basis on if the 961 will be a good fit or not. I did already play 1 game in the 961 though and the fit and feel was great. Super happy with it.

Just got my new ProTechSport today. Went with the classic matte white with polished cage. 961 mold, full Kevlar. Love it. It's my 2nd one from Michel. My other one is the Garon mold so I wanted to change it up with the 961 this time. Super happy with how it looks. No paint job for now but maybe in the future.

I'm still trying to find my ideal. I bought Michel Hutchinson's used VHs with 4mm step steel on them and there is a sticker on the skate that he gets 1/2".

I was at the Jets/ Yotes game tonight and saw that play. It was just a snap shot coming down the wing, not a Laine slapshot or anything too hard. I thought a strap came lose or something as he skated to the bench soon after for what looked like a mask repair. I had no idea it injured him like that.

Same reason you mentioned in original post. Feel like I have better control in butterfly and in plays around the net when I'm down.

6'2" and use a 25" 1S stick.

I have a feeling 2S probably won't be great for durability if they made the paddle even thinner and dropped the weight by 10%...
