  1. Been eyeing their Pro and Pro Elite pants for a while. Anyone have any feedback on weight, mobility, etc.? Seems like folks who own these feel build quality and durability is great. Also is the internal belt removable?

For those that have had the buckle break, contact the warranty department at Bauer and they'll get you a new one. I've got one on the way now. Looks like it just screws in, so it should be a really easy replacement. They want the old buckle returned to them.

That's great. For a first-gen product, that's about all you can ask for. Hope not to have to cross that bridge, but nice to know its there.

  3. Wondering if anyone has any good ideas about how to best use ProLaces with the Konekts. @TheGoalNet previously posted a solution using an extra loop through the lower buckle, but I was hoping to avoid adding that extra step.

Using the ProLaces normally, it seems there is a risk that they will slip down and over the toe. Only idea I had was to stretch them to go through the rear hole of the holder and up so that the velcro tabs are between the two buckles, but then I'm a little concerned that they could accidentally flip the buckle forward during play. Any suggestions would be great.

How'd you find it with the foam? I'm on the ice tomorrow for the first time after my shop replaced the skates for me due to the clip issue.

I'm coming from Bauer 2S Pro skates and with how skinny my ankles are, I got into the habit of lightly taping them with sock tape to my ankles and didn't notice it hindering mobility. Debating doing the same with these, as the ankle simply doesn't ratchet tight enough for my liking. It's not a leg strength issue, I just have twig legs.

The foam worked perfectly. I am now comfortably locked in around the ankle and the hinge is engaging as intended.

The foam stayed in place with no movement for a 1.5 hour session, so it is probably not necessary but I’m going to look for a way to more permanently attach it. I still think the sleeve idea is probably the best bet.

Just had the same issue with my skate. Used maybe 4 times? 5?signal-2022-08-13-20-33-58-742.thumb.jpg.967111a67b2233b9fa3c242f907a53df.jpg

Very unfortunate. Darn, I was really optimistic about the build quality of all the components, but this is looking like a weak point. I looked at this spot on my skates - looks like the loop end points are attached with some sort of press fit (looking on the edge of that part closest to the buckle, you can see press marks).

You should definitely go to Bauer and/or your retailer for warranty or replacement parts. In the meantime, as long as it wouldn’t void any warranty, you could use JB Weld or another epoxy to repair it.

I’m in the same boat with my skinny ankles. I’m honestly not sure it’s really necessary (for me at least) to get them tighter than the Small setting, so I’m loathe to try a permanent solution like removing the rivets at the rear connection and punching new holes, but that does seem to be the best option.

I was thinking of trying to stuff a thick foam pad between the upper strap and the liner tongue first to tighten things down, at least to see if shortening the strap might be worth the effort.

I tested this out at home using 1/2” thick neoprene foam. Just crudely cut pieces the same width as the strap and the area where the strap contacts the tongue.

Early results are very promising. I have an ice session tonight and will try skating with the foam in. Seems securely held by the strap, but if things go well, I’ll make a wider piece and sew on some nylon webbing to create a “sleeve” to go over the strap. Will report back.

Picked mine up today - could feel some sore spots pre-baking, and after the bake no problems at all with no shims required either. Comfort wise while wearing these at home and walking around is pretty darned amazing for non broken in skates. I did move my superfeet over from my prior skates for the extra arch support.

Main concern is that as someone who has skinny ankles, the top strap doesn't cinch tight enough for the comfort I'm used to. Would've been nice to be have a few more holes punched to bring it 1-2 stops tighter - if anyone has any tips / thoughts on that I'm all ears.

  8. Thought I would share some thoughts after a few skates:

    • Easy on/easy off is such a dream come true. Obviously, each of us will value this differently, but I am a very happy camper indeed.
    • I echo previous posts about movement and feel on the ice. These are significantly different than anything on the market. There will be folks who like the forward flex and those who don’t. I have always used a Scrivens-style lacing pattern and skipped the top two eyelets, so I am a fan of forward flex.
    • As much as I love the buckles, I have two discreet complaints (both of which I think/hope could be addressed in a future release): 1. The micro adjustment on the “loop” side is achieved by twisting the loop. There should be a way to lock this setting in place (maybe a set screw?) once it is set. The problem is with taking them on an off that piece can get jostled around and twist out of its setting. And 2. Related to #1, the loops actually have “correct” orientation, which is indicated by the little green arrow that is supposed to face out. If the loop is twisted upside down, it won’t attach properly. Not huge issues, but minor frustrations considering the convenience the buckles provide.
    • The shells are bulletproof. Took two hard shots off the toe (both on the same foot) last night and felt absolutely nothing.
    • If you wear no socks like me, the liner is a treat. Super comfortable. Time will tell if the texture of the material changes.
  9. Do any of you retail employees and insiders have any info from Bauer on the minimum baking/molding temperature on these?

The reason I ask is that I use a heated boot dryer to dry my skates and gloves after every session. Given how crazy moldable these skates are I’m worried about putting my pair on the dryer. Anyone have solid information?

I was thinking one option might be to dry the liners only, but they are moldable too so I want to be cautious.

Pure Hockey website now says they must be purchased in store.  Also no 11's shown, I'm a 10.5 on one foot and 11 on the other according to my CCM scan and wear an 11 off the shelf.  Closest store that has any in stock is in New Jersey 🤮

Call Pure. Based on experience with other items, they should be able to easily have the 11s transferred to your local store.

Anyone with smaller feet get fitted yet?  I'm a 8.5-9 sneaker size so if sizes 7 is too big for me (Konekts start at size 7) then I'm going to be sad.

I got 7s. For reference, I’ve been a 7 or 7.5 in every brand and model of skate I’ve owned.

all of a sudden the Koenkt is "product not found" on the pure goalie site.

My pair from Pure came in yesterday. I ordered early AM on Friday. Sounds like they realized they weren’t supposed to be selling these online later in the day… Either way I’m planning to go to my local Pure for baking.

I have made no secret of the fact that I am a super fanboy of these skates ever since the first glimpses appeared online. That said, my initial first impressions out of the box were beyond even my own inflated expectations.

For anyone comparing these to cheap 90’s roller blades or whatever, forget it. You will drop that argument the instant you hold these skates in your hands. These boots are not cheap plastic. These buckles are not cheap or fragile. Live and in person, everything about these skates conveys a high quality, durable build.

Even though I know these absolutely must be baked, I couldn’t resist trying them on for a “dry fit”. Even unbaked, (for my feet at least) they already feel more comfortable with less negative space than custom VHs I’ve had previously. I have only one slight concern for my own fit - my ankles are very skinny and I’m worried, even on the smallest setting, about getting the top strap as locked down as possible. Even as-is I can get them as tight or tighter on the ankle as my current CCM FT2, so anything beyond that will be a bonus.

Looking forward to getting them baked this week.

How has the arm protection been to you thus far?

    Sorry for the late reply.

Arm protection is moderately good; I would compare it better than a Vaughn but worse than a CCM. I took a solid clapper in the middle part between my elbow to wrist and it left a quarter-sized bruise there. All my tuck-ins so far felt really good and had nothing hurt; I would time-to-time get stingers when tucked in on the Hyperlite but don't have too much to compare to.

Nothing too much to report but it's definitely beefier than the Ultrasonics when I had it here.

I have this C/A as well and have played 5 games with it so far. I'm coming from an older Warrior Ritual model and the arm protection on the Mach is a huge improvement. I've taken a few hard shots to the bicep and the inner elbow "plate" (for lack of a better term) and have felt nothing. Only negative on the arms is that they seem to produce big rebounds, as opposed to the chest piece which does help deaden the puck in my experience.

How did you find the film adhering to the stitching on the inside of your knee block?

Solid. It comes down to the installation - if you follow the instructions for the 3M tape and use a water-alcohol solution and then squeegee it out, it bonds very well to the jenpro material after everything dries.

100% pulling this out of my ass, but it wouldn't surprise me if Warrior is simply sitting on these slide plates until they can get G6 on the shelves. There's probably a ton of people who might not upgrade to G6 if they can throw a slide plate on their G4/G5/GT/GT2.

Could be. I'm certainly sticking with my G5s.

For anyone impatiently waiting, I strongly recommend picking up some of the 3M ViViD tape/film for your existing knee blocks. Very cheap, pretty easy to apply, long lasting, and very slide-y.

There's a goalie on reddit that's been tinkering with ski boot style buckles for skates and I have been testing them- pretty much mimicking the buckle system on the Konekts, just without the hinge system.

I was looking forward to the Konekts, but at $1k, they're in custom skate territory.

That's pretty cool, minus the hinge feature of course. Wonder how heavy those buckles are.
