  1. @ilyazhito, all good bud. You've seen my use of the word "dinosaur" in my notes from time to time. My changing of gear usually happens when it is forced on me. Check out a sec or two of my videos here; bet my pads and the mask I use (unless the rink bans it) are older than you. :)

  2. Look, at least Tor is trying to get good ones. The Blackhawks signed Petr Mrozek; nothing personal, he's been around and guess he's ok but with this team, "ok" is not going to work. The 'Hawks are basically a mens league team. If he doesnt have a conflict with school or a junior or national team commitment, bring up Commesso and see what he's got. Going to be another long winter here and it will only get worse: Toews and Kane dont have enough time left for a rebuild. They'll probably waive their no trade clauses.

Maybe it's the difference between the shapes of older and newer gloves. Older gloves (such as the Reactor 3) tend to have more of an oval-shaped catching surface while newer gloves (Ultrasonic, Axis) tend to look more circular. Even the Reebok Premier X24 I had was the newer, rounder design. I had a hard time closing that glove, but if pucks or balls got in, they weren't coming out.

You might be correct. My glove is a Passau 60 degree. I ended up chosing that because, as we discussed before, anything - Vaughn, CCM, Bauer etal - at Total Hockey/Goalie weighed a ton and needed a vise to close. The Passau broke in after about 2 outings. I've seen elsewhere on the board here where some have loosened or modified the T where it inserts in the glove itself and got a good result.

You got your hands full transitioning from conventional to full right together with finding a glove you like. Good luck!

  4. Passau will make you one with such a palm if you're willing to spend the cash and time. Sounds like you're moving ahead with the switch; good luck!

Dinosaur alert: Get enough stingers and you'll adapt to catch the biscuit in the web.

Heresy alert: I think such palms add to the endless pop outs - whoever said playing our position is supposed be free of discomfort?

  5. Lanche earned it. Great run.

Fun to watch playoff season.  No one stunk the joint out and it was good to not have an outmatched team carried by a hot goalie who got overwhelmed by a really strong team the Finals.

  6. I thought it was a good game also. Just a bad luck or good luck, depending on your point of view, play leading to the OT goal. Vas is excellent in general but really excellent at pulling it together after a tough start. The 'Lanche are just effing strong esp in that altitude and the Bolts dont panic. I thought they had a decent game just coming off the last series. Failed to notice Kemper's bare legs; I like him but I have just never saw him as a stud #1 in the NHL. Dont really care who wins; just enjoying the hockey.

  7. I think NYR just ran out of gas. Hats off to them; I never had any inkling they would make it to the semis. The two best teams made it to the Finals. No clue who wins. The 'Lanche will be rested and have a really good team game. The Bolts wont be as rested but they too play a really good team game and they've the experience. Should be fun to watch. Might be heresy to say given our position but kinda of nice that for a change a team is not being carried by a hot goaler into the Finals.

  8. I'm not his biggest fan and am pretty much indifferent about him. He is fun to watch, however. He also has been in The Show for a long long time and I dont think anyone can legitimately put the Oil's elimination on him. So while not HOF he's been pretty good for a long stretch.

Was it Tampa being good or did the Rangers lost their game in the third yesterday? They looked like they got nervous of winning or whatever happened. No puck control, no organized playing and before that for the first two games and two periods they had a really solid game. Not saying Tampa didn't earn the victory but something happened on Rangers team.

I saw it the same way last night. Something went wrong in the 3rd. Perhaps they just got a little tired, Tampa got its act together, a combination of both, or something else.

From a technical point of view, Vaseleski (phonetic) impressed me. His feet werent set during the first period. He corrected that in the 2nd and the 3rd. Would have been easy to keep doing that for the rest of the game. Instead, he adjusted and played a good game.

  10. @SaveByRichter35: wow! Dismantled Tampa last night. They just stick with their game no matter what. This isnt over yet obviously but they look unshakeable and when they blow coverage, that monster is in goal. Very impressive.

A laughed so hard at this one! Goalies in the conferences finals.

Ok, anyone with a pulse knows the top two. The bottom two I cant remember the tag team's name but one of them was Outback Jack. Pretty sure Brutis the Barber called him "Outhouse Jack".

Last night was exciting and fun to watch but geez....14 goals? Any mistake by the D or the goaler and in it went.

Anyone know the extent of Raanta's injury? Looked like a hip, knee, or hamstring.

    Tonight should be fun too.

  12. @SaveByRichter35: Igor was excellent. Really found his game as the series wore on; very impressive for a rookie.

So now we got the Bolts v. NYR and  the Oil v 'Lanche. I have no clue about the outcomes but the games will be fun to watch.

  13. In a private message a few months ago when he was cutting weight to play again, I asked where "Bunny" originated. He told me his favorite goalie was Bunny Laroque. Like his favorite, a good man gone way too soon. We're all better off having known him and we're all worse off without him. In my haste and shock, I forgot to add that to my post about this kind soul. Forgive me, Bunny.

  14. I interpreted the Bennington crash like @netminder. The way I saw it, Kadri gave the D-man a body on body shove but I didnt see it as a penalty. It sucks but it was a hockey play. It happens in the regular season; it's going to happen in the playoffs. FWIW, I am not a fan of Kadri but I just didnt see a penalty.

Looking forward the Carolina v. NYR. The 'Canes really move their feet - no space and time when they push the pace. NYR look better against Carolina than they did against the Pens. The last game was a terrific game.

  15. I havent seen any of the Panthers' games. Has Bob been off his game? Those numbers are surprising for him. I think he's one of the top 5 to 10 in the game. Vas's numbers arent what we expect but I think he's played pretty well. Igor is off his game; at first I thought it was the Rangers' doing what they always have done to their excellent goalies but he's not looked sharp the last few games. Pretty awesome assist  though; great play. Has to be tons of pressure on him and it is a lot for a rookie. Hopefully, he returns to his game next series.

  16. Oettinger and Jarry were great last night. Saturday night, Quick was out of his mind - that game should have been over by the end of the first period.

Out of the teams to survive the first round, I think Carolina looks the strongest but that's why they play the games right?....Effing Rod the Bod looks like he can still play.
