5'9" with a 16.5" ATK... I'm a 33 in most pads.  I think the 1S sit high and play very straight.  Similar to how a Premier pad and an EFlex pad will sit different on the leg.

The seller had a 17.5" and landed dead center

Thanks. I guess the only way to be sure is to try with my skates on.

No. I couldn't make the sizing work.  If they were going to be a long term set I would have snapped them up.

@TGC-Rance mentioned about moving the knee block if it was a keeper set

How tall are you and what's your ATK. I was under the impression that a medium would fit me. I'm 5'9" with a 17 ATK. I''ve looked at the small's in store and they just seem like they'd be far too small. Currently wearing a 33" +2" Simmons 997 that seemed almost identical to the Medium 1S/X but now i'm not sure.

Yes, I have saved up the necessary funds to get a new set. I am thinking about getting a custom set because I do not like the stock graphics, and want to come away from all white.

By all means! My comment probably comes across as negative and I don't mean it that way. What do you have in mind for the graphic?

    Hi,

I am 14 years old, and stand around 5'1". Right now, I wear CCM Extreme Flex 3.5 gear (28+1) (JR Pads, Glove, and Blocker) which are a little small on me, and I am looking to get new ones. I was looking at Brian's, and am very interested. Here is a little background on my past gear.

    Vaughn Ventus & Vaughn Velocity

    - Could not close the glove

    - Pads did not seal to the ice

CCM Extreme Flex 2 & CCM Extreme Flex 3.5

    - Love both sets

    - Glove is extremely easy to close

    - Pads seal to the ice

Let me know what Brian's line would suit me. I am looking to get a custom set. Thank you.

If you're extremely wealthy or your parents are then I guess go custom, otherwise, I would stick to stock gear. You're 14 and more than likely still growing, custom is a waste of money at your age, hell you could growth spurt halfway through a season and not even be able to use your custom gear.

I don't know Brian's very well so I can't help you with that. If money is no object then, by all means, do whatever you want but be sure to share pics with us!

I'm the Alex Jones of hockeyspiracies, haha! (slightly kidding)

The real truth to my statement is I'd almost rather it be a grand conspiracy. It's easier to digest compared to the ineptitude of some officials judgement calls.

I can certainly understand that. I almost feel like this is all stemming from that horrendous non-call on Kessler last year except it's only getting worse.

Or that politics in refereeing means guys won't face consequence for poor calls (Francois St. Laurent, Tim Peel, or that #19 ref that appears in almost every controversial goal call compilation). That or there's some Lenny Dykstra-esque stuff going on where refs or off-ice authorities have monetary stakes tied up in games, which I wouldn't doubt. Corruption is the only paranoid reason I can think of for these calls being so random (and oddly favoring certain teams whether it's coincidence or not).

Come on. Don't tinfoil hat it up. The real problem is they left it up to individuals to make the judgement call at the rink and not being centralized in the war room. If it was the same department doing all the controversial interference calls things would at least be consistent.

    How does that even happen.

How do you ship something like this? The person must have been persistent and they just threw something together so they would shut up. I don't want anyone to fail, I especially don't want someone with health issues to fail or be subject to any abuse but when you're business relies on such a niche position this entire ordeal is not a good look.

I'm also generally very wary of a company that has issues maintaining and shipping stock for such a simple item like HAL's constantly creating new products every month. At some point, you need to focus on your bread and butter and create positive customer experiences so they'll be willing to try your stuff when you're comfortably able to produce those items.

So, myself and Bunny had a bad issue with them? That’s 2.

Can you please chime in if you ordered something and if it was good or bad.

I’d like to see the difference between good experiences and bad?

Ordered and paid for HAL's Feb 2017 waited months, got some excuse that "my mailbox is unoccupied" at my building. Not true. Spoke on the phone with Jeff with an alternate mailing address just to be sure annnnnnnnnnnd I use Pro Laces now.

They have my money I don't care anymore. Keep it.

The "Latest" page refreshes every ten minutes or so.

Posts aren't initially moderated and can be found in each thread a few seconds after posting.

I kind of figured as much. At least now I can stop spamming my refresh button! :)

Pshh, thanks for making and maintaining this site. It's filled a huge void since GSBB went to shit.

    Agreed.

On an unrelated note. Is every post moderated before it's posted to the board? I know it's not it's just I always see a significant lag between a post being made and the "Latest"  page reflecting the change. Not a huge issue at all and probably just more to do with my need for new posts all the time.

  11. For the life of me, I can't figure out why Bauer went with binding on the 1X blocker. It always turns out looking awful and doesn't match the sleek aesthetic of the 1X line at all. It's gross.

  12. Edit: What I mean by stairs is that the rink in my city is one of the oldest still standing, to get to the change rooms you have to go down a flight of 20 very steep stairs and it’s super narrow 3 feet tops so I can’t shoulder the bag up or down and have to drag it down and then back up on its wheels.

The handles have held up admirably even when supporting the full weight of my bag with pads in it and soaking wet.

I would never ever buy another bag I couldn’t fit my pads in with everything else.

    Think it would survive flights?

I don't see why not. It has lock straps for the zippers. Mine at least seems very well made and has to on occasion get dragged up and down some very narrow stairs where I can't shoulder the bag.

These are all over the place. Looks like a pretty cool circuit themed design and then random claw marks. That being said, I wouldn't say no if they were free.
