Leafs clawed their way back into the series only to lose in OT in game seven. Brutal. Strange goal, too. Seemed to take everyone on Toronto by surprise.

Samsonov fell asleep at the wheel is what it is. He looked/behaved weird all game. He had plenty of time to play the puck or at least jump on it as it bounced back in front.

He lost the series for the leafs.

While not a Bauer Pro unit, this is a Bauer Pro department unit straight from Kay Whitmore's office. Came across it for sale back in March for a wicked price and picked up Had a amazing hour and half visit picking it up. The person I got it from has been best friends with Kay since child hood and Kay gives him gear all the time that comes into his office. He got two of these units from Kay and had a set of CCM Axis XF gloves he just got from him. Great visit and time getting this, and great guy to know now.

Used this unit a couple of times and crap I thought the CCM AB18 was beefed up big time, I ended up selling the one I had. This unit is maybe even more protective if not on the same level, never felt a single shot anywhere. Arms, bicep, chest arm are all soild. Interesting when comparing it to a stock unit and some other Pro units I seen on sideline. There are few different things done to this one.

Those shoulders look crazy! Does it make it sit higher? Definitely not your retail pro. Another Unicorn for the masses.

    Looks good!

    -3xl

-Gnetik ll(will probably be upgrading soon.

    -Untucked.

Not much difference so far. Feels like has a bit more protection in the front at least as it interfered with the CCM KP Pro knee pads I was trying out (switched back to my 1x knee pads) but other then the stiffness from being new felt the same.

Mine are Pro, not Pro Elite. But I chose the Pro as they are protective enough for less $. If I go with the chesty from them I would make the same decision.

Ok. I have the old 870 Pro Spec ones, basically like your new ones but before they added the front flaps. That is a definite bonus protection compared to mine. Never got hurt but I'm sure you feel the difference. I am interested in the Pro Elite only because they resemble the CCM 12A quite a bit for less and can be NHL team customised. The Pro is very barrel like, huge at the hips and thighs. 15+ years on mine and although still holding strong, I'm dreaming of my next ones.

Wore my new XGP2 pro pants and jock yesterday for the first skate. Need to be broken in more but played as well as my Prospec set I had previously.

If I may ask, what size pants did you choose? What c/a do you use with them and do you tuck or un-tuck? What difference do you notice compared to your Pro Spec ones from before and why choose the Pro Elite over the Pro?

Honestly this should be the "Tell me more" meme template. : r/DunderMifflin

I went and picked up the non pro+ ca today so I could fit better (or at all) in all my jerseys.  This is pretty much the same as the RX3 I think, at least it's not grey and wont get nasty looking in 3 months. Size aside it feels just as protective as my RX3Pro+ which they advertise to be the case.

I held the RF2 pro helmet which seemed the same to me.  The shell might have different materials but the foams inside didn't seem noticeably different.

What's the latest feedback? Holding up well?

  6. The SLR4 catcher is going back to the XP shape of things in break.

Maria Mountain just posted a full kit overlook with the boys at Vaughn on Youtube. Huge overhaul from the SLR3.

For some reason last year before I burnt the Warrior Chest protector into oblivion (jk i threw on scrap parts and donated it to a ball hockey goalie), there was actually a video done explaining every piece of it.

After all the paid modifications, the price = a new old stock pro model :D loll. Lots of work and patience. Cool work.

I originally was wearing the McKenney 870 but I couldn't figure out how to untuck comfortably without the whole chest riding up into my mask. Found an old Vaughn Epic 8800 that fit exactly how I wanted but I could feel almost every shot.

Why not mix them together and fill the gaps with an old pair of Graf G700 pants?

Here is the project half finished. The old Vaughn elbows were almost nothing and would not fit over the beefed up arms. You can see the some funky stitching on the right forearm as I could just barely fit the extra padding without needing extra fabric to close it up. Added extra shoulder flaps to cover the Vaughn gaps using the sacrificial Graf pants. Doubled up the shoulder floaters but might revisit this, I was worried about the little exposed part that the McKenney shoulder doesn't cover at the bottom

Finished product for now. Shoulders are a bit high but not an issue when crouched. I am thinking of addressing the stomach but this thing is already getting heavy.

I had the 870 and it's definitely a tuck type c/a. Their then 890 now XPG2 Pro Elite seems more untuck friendly by looking at it.

  8. This brings up an interesting topic if it hasn't been done here before.

Glove breaks and stick handling efficiency.

There is value in recognising if your puck handling is just a zero from the get go and you just gotta go through the learning curve. Then there's the stick of choice: is it the right size? Is the handle too long? Is it just too heavy for you? Do you play glove under or over (Turco)?

Finally comes the glove structure itself. I'm sure the break angle has to influence the grip on the stick. Try as I may, my 75 degree GT2 doesn't let me get a solid grip on the handle in the Turco grip. I use a 25" JRZ stick (for now), the handle isn't long, kinda like the Bauer GSX, and as much as I work on it and despite micro improvements, I can't get a good push off, I can't dribble or stick handle the puck, my back hand is even worse. It's frustrating cause I try to get involved in the play as much as possible but not having a proper handle makes for questionable plays at times and messes with ones confidence. I see guys like Bob do circles with the puck like it's magnetised. First loop i'd be chasing the puck 5-10 feet away already 😝

I'll second the Warrior gloves in terms of protection and catch-ability.

  9. Leafs are in survival mode. If they lose the next game...bye bye.

Hellybuck is struggling a bit. They need to bounce back hard as well.

    Edmonton is doing what's expected.

  10. I know that Kirk would be the better source for this, BUT, out of curiosity, those of you working for pro shops and have received the senior line already, what is the break/flex specs on the pads?

  11. So Amazon just bought the rights from Rogers.

Will this affect HNC? Will games only be on demand or through Prime?

It's bad enough that I don't get to watch the games in my native French tongue thanks to private sports channels. I hope HNC will still be a thing.

Did you look at the custom catalog or the retail catalog? Its never been in the retail catalog. It should still be available for 2024.

I guess I downloaded the wrong catalog then.

  13. Just to add to my post above...I got curious and looked up the 2024 catalogue and the Pro Series c/a has been omitted from available orders. The Shadow looks like a mishmash of the Pro Series body with Hyper shoulders and Mach arms.

Am I right to assume that the Pro Series is dead and done from Bauer?
