  1. I have a web client that just bought some used. He says he feels the strap at the calf too loose for his leg. I'm assuming he's got skinny calves. The strap says Large. Not being familiar with the more recent velcro CCM models, do the elastics come in different sizes/lengths? Think any are still available online and what should I look for?

    Thanks in advance. Pics below...

I personally love that I can wash the damn thing, and I can re-palm my blocker myself back to factory new.

Blocker, yes, that's cool and the setup isn't all that hard. The glove on the other hand, if the palm isn't set exactly as you had it before taking it out...well that would just drive me nuts 😵‍💫

Only the stiffness and the calf wrap can be modified.

You'll still have a square toe and flatter leg channel

GT line is dead, it's time to move on. 😜

You know as much as I do that if they brought it back, you'd be all over it 😉

  4. Sometimes when you watch a televised game, you can probably catch some on ice "communication" between the players, some cues, some directions, occasionally some salty or foul rebuttal.

Last night, during the last minute of a period I was told the best compliment,  "VA CHIER!!" (which is French for kind of F$#% YOU) after stoning a shot in an open net with my right pad off a big rebound.

Ahhhh, people are so nice in hockey, you know 😁

Just get a custom G7 with a soft knee and medium thighrise. Should be relatively close.

    Taper at the inside toe?

  6. I wish the 7.0 glove would have a permanent palm.

I wish they would of kept the GT2 line but have the new leg strapping. That'd be killer 😎

  7. Well...

Just got news that the team has been sold to the Utah Jazz owner and that he intends to move the team there, providing he builds an appropriate arena within the next 5 years.

So the league falls short at 31 for the next little while? Will there be a mad scramble to fill in the gap? Will Québec finally have their chance? Or will Bettman screw us over again with another American team franchise?

Either way, this will affect the schedule for next season no doubt.

Cody Porter and Carter Hart also have custom embroidery on their gear

I did see that on Cody's glove. Been chatting with him. Never noticed on Heart. Kassimir has his own logo as well.

  9. Watching last night highlights, I noticed Vasy has logo style initials on his catcher. Noticed one or two other pro goaliesdo this.

Does he have his own Russian YouTube channel as well?

Yes - for me I want the Wings to get the last spot. Would help validate the Yzerplan for the impatient, and as @coopaloop1234 said, would provide a bit of a different look for the east.

Here’s hoping the Habs can gracefully stay the fuck out of the way, and give the Wings the much needed 2 points tonight.

    You happy now?

    Frigging RVH FAIL crap 💩

  11. My boys are obviously out. Who's left aside Toronto and Edmonton in Canada?

I know, I should be on top of this as a Canadian but I only get to see highlights on YouTube and occasionally catch HNIC if lucky.

Ha - yes, you got it. Apologies for using such an ambiguous initialism.

@RichMan - will let you know if there are any notes on the arms, but given what I’m coming out of, I can’t see it being anything but a net improvement (get it? NET improvement! 😁😋)

Between that and THS, TGC, GH, GM, PSH, PHL, PIAS...sounds like a government board meeting 😅

Buddy of mine told me about a 30% off goalie gear sale at a LHS. Finally got a new chestie - and in a proper size. When I started, 5-6 years ago, the Warrior chestie I got at PIAS was the one used piece I never replaced. However, it was a small, when I should be in a medium (at least) I did like the Warrior, but I was starting to feel shots.

Also picket up a new Warrior mask. My old Bauer C2 would have been “illegal” in the states, based in the sticker.

I’ve used the chestie, and really liked it. Maybe a bit hot, but nothing too crazy. Haven’t used the mask yet though. In a bit of a lull after my winter season ended.

    LHS?

Let us know how the arms are on that Elite. Curious.

Fit for fit to the 18ab is the same. Though the new unit has a additional 4" of soft foam sewn to the bottom of the abdomen , like the removable part of the ef6 chesty (not removable on pro spec).

So great for the untuck gang, extra puff at the belly. As much as I anticipated this unit, what I'm reading is turning me off a bit. I'm not playing pro of course, and I won't necessarily shy away from a bit more protection but having tried the AB18 on ice, that to me was the max tolerable in c/a protection. Closest to that I've used is a Brown unit.

Kaskisuo was testing one some weeks ago. He said he liked it but was still playing with his Mach. Wonder if he'll give some feedback in any upcoming video?

I wonder if you can order them without the extra lining inside?

With the design of the arms dating back to the Premier Pro of 3-4 years ago, the arms all have the tendency to wear at the same places in the same fashion. Have they improved on that with the new model?

  15. I kinda was expecting the retail version to be a tad less, meaning not as thick in the arms and belly making it more flexible, lighter, but no less protective for the non-pro keepers...and no more expensive since it's off the rack, not custom. This is where Sezzle and other programs will come in handy.

@Madmedic6 is the overall fit the same? Does it sit the same on the shoulders? is the wrap the same? Anything else you can mention?

  16. Not sure I contributed yet but...

BAD: Tack 452 skates. Horrible pain!! Did some nerve damage to my big toe, took a full year to be able to feel it again.

Good: This is a hard one. I loved my Brown 503 c/a. It got wrecked in a flood and I had to throw it out. My Fleury pro-return H5 c/a. Sold it to upgrade. My Eagle Pro-return TT10 glove with mostly corduroy, light as heck. My Jofa glove from the late 80s, the one with the outside finger stalls. Sold it out of frustration :( . A tie between my Eagle PMW1 Kotyk Pro-return pads and my Heaton Helite-Z asymmetric design. Both were terrible for the modern butterfly slides but kicked ass in the old school/hybrid department. The list could go on lolll
