Now that's a sweet looking unit. If I was looking at upgrading my C/A (currently in a gen 1 CCM AB PRO), I'd probably look for this.

Just a heads up to indicate that things do change...after a poor record of 9 loses (maybe more, I stopped counting) and 2 ties after the holidays, last night was our final game in the series. We were dead last in the 4 team league standings and although feared in the beginning, not much was expected but the boys pressed on the pedal and I gave everything I got and we came out with a 5-2 win to close the season/series. I was fully gassed out. I did make a 2 pad stack high corner toe save deemed for sports highlights, alas no post-game interviews

It's always fun how things can just turn around "just like that".

You just never know what the next game may bring.

A shorter stick would help for sure, along with keeping that blocker hand out to present a bigger blocking surface.

Preferably, anything you can test in-person and you like could be the way to go. With gear being so personal it's hard to make any recomendations. If you like what you tried on in stores maybe you should go with that.

I remember in the early 2000's the unicorn chest protector from RBK, the pro spec p1 which was based off the previous Koho 590 unit. They couldn't be ordered from a store, the only way was pro returns from the various pro/semi pro and Jr hockey leagues ( same now as the CCM pro unit) . Because of the new rules with smaller chest protectors coming out they changed the arms on them. I had an actual new Koho 590 pro spec, same as the p1  pro spec at the time that came from Jason Labarbara ( same colors as below but with the RBK  sized arms) . On the old GSBB I was getting PM's with crazy offers for it because no one had ever seen a pro spec Koho unit. Later on a few years after the craziness of the unit, Roddy at The Goalie Crease worked with Reebok and came out with a retail p1 pro spec unit ( last picture), and that ended the whole unicorn label with unit.

 

 

 

Loved those, especially the all black version. I always wanted one haha. I'd still take one when my CCM AB P1 ever went bust. If I could find one...

Really good pop when playing the puck and they were tanks. 

Have had pretty bad luck with Bauers otherwise (2S: broken spine, Hyperlite: holes in paddle).

I had the same issue recently with my pro stock Hyperlite and a crack off the top of the paddle recently. 

Foamcore are tough to beat for durabilty and decent weight.

I think it could but ultimately It's how the goalie decides to hold his/her glove that will reflect position.

I hold mine in more of a slighty raised shaking someone's hand glove positioning.

I wish this was released. Who's to say if it will or not, but I remember being so stoked when I first saw this picture a while ago. A Leferve branded C/A would be awesome. 

Less is more sometimes, I agree. I would drop the # of skates per week and see how you feel physically, mentally, etc.
