Had a loss last night 6-1. Hate losing. Start the game all positive and then it turns into a mfkn shitshow right after the opening faceoff. 2 were unlucky bullfk bounces, 2 were my screwups and 2 were just good play.
The scoring stopped after the start of the 2nd so I can at least feel good about almost 2 full periods. Especially the 3rd where I stopped everything.
Im on the sub list. I don't want to commit to a team so I think of it as being a local ebug . But I try my best for everybody that has me play for them. The team last night is in last place and I really wanted to help get a win for them.
Anyway good tips in the thread. And that other thread.
It happens. Just try and put it behind you. This is the time of year when the tough losses round up (playoffs, etc).

The skate guards still being on is bugging me.
I always leave mine on with no issues.

I usually pack my gear once it's dry as to not forget anything on game day, grab and go.
I'd love to get my hands on the Rocket stall.
Do you air-dry it by leaving it out of the bag or do you have a storage setup you use to dry things quicker before re-packing your bag?

Saw a similar closet organizer on Amazon. I've always wanted one. they look so good. Well done!

Reviving this thread in case anyone else has their gear storage setup they'd like to share with everyone.
I'll be moving in a few months and need to decide on a storage setup. Currently in involved the floor and some fans, lol.

after some others recommendations I use a 60% 40% mix of iso and water as well as making sure i put it on my drying rack and have two 20 inch fans blasting on it so it get dry fast, my gear has yet to smell though i will say i dont sweat as much as most people
I've always wanted to try and mix my own solution to save some $$$.
And yes, drying is of course so key. When I move soon I will get my own gear 'closet', so I am already thinking of ways I can configire this space. I was thinking more fans.
We should revive the gear storage thread that I beleive we had in these forums.

I kinda did something similar but with the Trav set. I'll consider your idea. I'll post later.
Awesome. Yeah I think it's the best of both worlds for me. I should add some knots instead of a single lace setup to make it more durable, but it worlks for now.

I used the original Pro-Lace I first bought and although I didn't feel the tweak in my ankle, the elastic on these are very "stiff?" for lack of a better word.
I'm going to install my Trav edition ones next for the Monday game. They have a little more give which will give me a more relaxed feel at the boot area.
I will report again after this one...
To give yourself some distance between you and the stiff elastics, you can add some slack like I did with my Pro Laces.

I also recently gathered some Bauer Vapor elastic straps (which I modded with a needle and thread) to put on my CCM Premier 1 pads.
I have since removed them since the straps length turned out to be a little too short and thus too tight (maybe I just need to break the elastics in more and I wasn’t used to the tightness yet), but it’s something a may go back to. I have since switched back to my white CCM elastic straps that came with the pads since were in the playoffs now.
During the one shinny skate I used these in, this setup provided me with more pad lift due to the shorter, tighter elastic strapping in the calf area. (Plus I like the look of the blue straps)

Goodbye Hockey. ......... I am playing my final game on Friday, March 29.
For years my body has been complaining. This time I have listened.
It has been a grand run, 75-80 games per year with my 55+ team and more recently we've morphed into a 70+ squad.
Of course I'll miss it, over 65 years of being a goalie. But following hip, knee and shoulder surgeries the arthritis has won !@#$%^&*. So at age 74 I'm hanging them up. I won't be selling any gear as my Granddaughter is following the Family Curse and is now a 'tender.
It is my plan to drop in every once in a while on this site and take the temperature. But probably won't have much to offer, as if I ever have.
Cheers y'all

Enjoy everything you'll given to the game. The memories will last forever.

Decided to go back to my Pro-Laces for tomorrow night's game. Tired of the torque on my right ankle. Will report later.
How did it go?

If Lundqvist was still in the NHL, that looks like something he'd wear. NIce design.

Great job already! CCM's are always tough to break in.

Now that's a nice looking glove. Awesome! Let us know how the break-in process goes. Which methods do you try?

Ah, the good ol' days are trying to get that sweet S curve on your pads.
Here's TGN's IG post about Quick taping his thighrise down to help break in his new pads:
