  1. I've seemingly reached a point where I no longer feel like dropping coin on replacing my perfectly good pads, however, I'm wishing for a stiffer knee wing on my Eflex 3s. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about this? I understand that I won't be getting results akin to a newer Bauer with the knee block being integrated into the core, but I'd like to not have so much floppiness. Thanks in advance!

  2. If you're referring to the new-ish Graf Peakspeed Pro G, it's definitely pitched forward from the start.

That being said, I have no issues with pushes that you're concerned about.

It's probably the comfiest skate I've ever had.

I've always been in a 36"+ pad for as long as I can remember- going back to my Smith orders from early/mid 2000's I was in 36"+2.5.  My G5's were 36"+1".  Now I'm in 34"+2" Gnetik V's and wish I went only 1" on thigh rise, or even less.

The way it's trending, my next set is going to be intermediate gear lol. I'm in a 32+1 Brian's Gnetik IV and wouldn't be able to go any bigger.

Has anyone had a glove reworked in any way by factory mad? I’m curious about costs because my new glove is on the way and I want to make it a single tee from the current double tee.

Late reply to this, but I just picked up a used glove that was redone by Factory MAD. The seller told me it has a custom tee and a new plastic mold for wider coverage. Closure is fingers over palm like a 580, not like other Gnetik 4 trappers it seems.

Unfortunately I can't answer your question about cost, but I can say that the glove feels fantastic.

I ordered a pair. I have been messing with PPF and will be curious to compare these. Anyone get these to fit on a Bauer? Worried it will not work with the knee block style

Could you take measurements of the plate? I sold mine when I sold my Warriors, didn't think to keep them to try on subsequent pads. Curious if they'll fit on Gnetik IVs.

Usually really loose, I ended up taking it out completely to see if that would help but no luck. I just threw in an extra set of bootstraps I had that have more holes in them to get it even tighter than before and it seemed to help a lot. Loosened the toe ties as well

Just like @seagoal said, a tighter bootstrap will keep the pads lower on the leg when in the butterfly. I second his suggestion to try kneepads.

Wow! Interesting how different they look just between the 8-9.

As someone with more experience in the newer stuff, do you have any suggestions as to how to actually get the pads to sit lower on my leg? They seem to fit, but whenever I butterfly I feel them slide sort of up my leg, causing them to feel too big. Thanks again for all your help, I really appreciate it.

How do you wear your boot strap?

I agree. I wonder what current JRZ users will look for when it comes time to replace their gear. There are also the big boys, but I'm not sure how the modern Kenesky or McKenney pads compare to JRZ.

The closest pad in my opinion to the Fusions I'm currently using would be a Brian's Optik.

For cars - the companies hire guerilla marketing people to whip up pseudo hype for their new item. Using a consultant distances the maker from the supposed people that are excited for the product.

Ford most recently did this with the Bronco. They hired a company to create the official Bronco forum and fill it with all kinds of things about the new Bronco. Supposed spy shots, insider information that they got from "a source". They also make up tons of users.

Jeep did it with the newest Wrangler too when it was coming out in 2018. I literally searched the owner of the site through google and saw that it was a marketing company. When you went to the marketing company site, they had Jeep and Ford as customers.

I got banned from both sites for pointing that out in a "discussion" about the vehicles on the sites.

    Ooo, a little sneaky sneak

I mean from the looks of it you could use some new eyelets in those skates…….

You're not wrong. I replaced a few that had fallen out before, but since I'm not using most of them I haven't since putting these on.

  11. So, functionally I still am loving these, however, on the buckle at the top that sees the most stress, I'm noticing that the eyelet is pulling away from where it should be.

I'm not sure if this will continue to progress and get worse, but perhaps there's something someone can think of to reinforce the area?
