2021 Playoffs
in NHL
I just don’t want a tampa bay repeat. Most underrated dirty team in the league.

Ha, no. I didn't say pictures. But I did in my mind scream: "PICS or it never happened!!!!!"
I just called to inquire about shipping outlook. They refuse to give tracking numbers so I like to know when to expect stuff so I don't have giant boxes sitting on my front porch for too long.
But seriously, it was VERY difficult to not ask for pics. It'd be really neat to see my blocker colors and pieces all disconnected and layed out and see my pad fragments being sewn. I feel like I'm a bit pushy of a customers with them as is and I didn't want to push my luck.
Oh.......ask for Scott, he's the best. Super friendly, always willing to chat and answer questions, and he discloses a lot of insider info if you ask and get him talking. We had a whole conversation about how the Kraken need to get a Vaughn goalie
Ahh gotcha. That’s understandable... oddly enough now that I realize it I remember vaughn posting a snapshot of my old blocker being made on their story, was pretty cool. And I’ll be sure to ask for Scott if I have any of those questions

I spoke to the Sales rep at Vaughn today. Glove is done. Blocker parts are sewn and it is at the assembly table. Pad are at the sewing table now. So. Close.
They send you pictures of that stuff? I wish which sales rep are you talking to?

The refs in my league all still wear neck gators and use push button whistles. They leave the gators down during play and put them up for faceoffs, getting pucks from the goalies, and breaking up scrums, etc.
That's a somewhat sensible way to use it imo. I think wearing it 100% of the time is ridiculous.

Must suck to have to wear a mask to play. Even in this liberal shithole of NY we don't have to wear a mask to play. Just to enter the building and get to the locker room.
it was like that in california for a bit, i always wore one just to put it under my chin, so they know i have one but i’m not using it LOL, what’s the point anyways?

I watched the whole game today. He played really well. 2 really good glove saves in the 1st and a really sassy one early in the 2nd. He played really well all game. I watch a lot of Pacific games in general and I am always so impressed with how calm and efficient he is. There's a serene steadiness to his game.
He will be missed.
@southpawtendy48 This was too relevant to not post. I was scanning the NHL standings for the whole league. Miller has played for 4 NHL teams: Anaheim, Buffalo, St. Louis, Vancouver.
Check out the bottom of the league standings.....this tells a story about why he does not have a Stanley Cup on his HOF resume, for sure
And here are his final NHL career numbers
one of my buddies claims he could've gotten close in 07 but apparently played atrocious and even carter hart could help them win... probably a joke but lol
also upset as a ducks fan myself that he had to end his career on such an awful team, and got unnecessary hate for his bad play on a few streches.. and yet those same people are acting like they never said those things. his prime they werent able to watch isnt relevant to them. gotta love ducks fans.
also the fact hes the winningest american goaltender and was on those teams... thats something special.

Idk if I’ve ever cried about a player retiring like this, especially after that video. Couldn’t have picked a better role model hockey wise.
Absolute honor to have watched his last NHL game

Just an awesome guy all around and obviously when I met him. Instantly made me a fan of him when he first joined the Ducks.. definitely deserved better after carrying his teams back then, and it sucks he's gonna retire on such a bad team. Just an amazing career.

You son of a bitch! That was the graphic I almost did many years ago when I did my current V6 set. I was going to do red knee rolls though.
Ha! Figured I couldn’t do anything else with the colors that liberty have

Nice, looking good. What all did you order in terms of specs on the pads and mitts? Such good news on the turn around time right now, I was quite pleased to hear this when I placed my order.
Did you see my new set on the way?
Thanks! On the glove, the usual LT98, double tee, velcro strap over tops of fingers, beefed up pro palm, stiffened T top finger side. Still experimenting with specs at the moment
On the blocker, this time I ordered an SLR2. Extra padding on the backhand, no forefinger protector, and full carbon insert sheet.
On the pads, stock stiffness on the top, soft boot, standard toe bridge so i can install the kenesky’s, stock boot strap, velcro strap below the middle calf strap like on the SLR2s.
As for your pads, I don’t believe I saw them, pm them to me if and when you can!

Yes. I carved my EF4s up way worst that that and they're doing fine. Use a jigsaw with a fresh fine toothed blade. I recommend using 2 part epoxy to cover the foam you'll expose when cutting. There's probably no correlation, but the only stick I didn't do this on snapped quickly. All the rest, including another M1 out of the same 3 pack, are going strong. Whether the glue does or doesn't add strength (again, it probably doesn't) it definitely DOES feel nice and smooth when you tape over it.
Get a dremel too and some sort of vices to keep the stick still, and cover your extremities. ESPECIALLY your eyes nose and mouth. Most, if not all composite sticks today contain some sort of fiberglass and when they get into your skin it isn’t fun to get out, and inhaling it/getting it in your eyes is very dangerous. I know it seems excessive but it needs to be done.

Gibby’s major injury troubles are really a thing of the past at this point. He’s not getting hurt much more than most goalies now a days. Hell this season he was at most GP when he got hurt, which as we’re seeing, games played management is pretty crucial for goalies.
I had some numbers of GP compared to other starting goalies (it got deleted lol) and he’s pretty much at a normal level since 17/18 or at least within reason of other guys (excluding Helly who has played an absurd amount of games the last 3 seasons lol). I think he’s at 169.
Overall I feel like minor goalie injuries are on the rise and guys are also realizing it’s not worth trying to play through a minor injury because it’ll usually end up getting worse.
Yeah I wouldn't say he's worse than a lot of goalies in the league. it's just annoying lol.
Of course they're gonna try to play through minor stuff, but like you said it can get worse. I wonder how that can be prevented.

I don't know about you... but I never liked getting pulled. Some days it was me and I was hurting the team... other nights it was a complete lack of help. Either way I was always anxious to get that next shot and stop it. A coach sometimes leaves a guy in because he knows his compete level is there and what's going in isn't on him... or he has confidence in him to pull himself out. But in a shortened season like this... every game matters.
Also... on Gibson... and I can't say I've seen too many of his games... but it's a fine line to walk sometimes. You have to be mentally strong enough to shake off a goal (even a bad one)... stay even keeled. Process the play... think about what you could maybe have done differently... then move on. But when you do the same thing and your team just isn't winning... you get some people saying that it looks like you don't care. Maybe he's missing a bit of the spring in his step that he has when he's on fire... and you may be 100% right that he was just battling through some sort of strain that has now landed him on DTD status. Just not sure it's fair to say he looks like he doesn't care.
As for Miller.. it was clear he wasn’t having his best game against a great avalanche team with his team doing little to none to bail him out. He looked broken by the end of it. I wouldn’t like getting pulled either but at that point your confidence is shot, and often times you don’t play any better than before. Not something you wanna do do a veteran goalie... I’m sure he’s been pulled before, but why leave a goalie in at that point? I can’t speak for him but i’d already be feeling kinda down. after the 6th goal i’ve lost a lot of my confidence at that moment, even when my team isn’t playing well.
And as for Gibson, I don’t think he doesn’t care whatsoever. He definitely does, I just sometimes question his mindset. Yes, he plays on an awful team, I get it, but this isn’t the first time he’s gone through a stretch of bad games like this... and him getting hurt is a yearly thing at this point. He may as well have been battling an injury before being put on DTD. I’m not surprised by him getting hurt anymore.

Been a brutal season to watch. Last couple games Gibby played I thought he was going to absolutely lose it.
Pretty sure the Ducks have scored close to 10 goals on their own goalies this year lol
Didn't like the fact he kept Miller in for over 6 goals. It clearly wasn't his night. Dude is a bum of a coach and so is our gm.
As much as I don't blame Gibson for being frustrated, it almost like he looks like he couldn't give less of a shit, he's had a lot of stretches where he's been like that, and I'm not a fan.. or he's been dealing with an undisclosed injury, seeing as he just got put on DTD.

He looked extremely off last night. Couldn’t catch a to save his life. I thought he had a new glove on but nope it was his normal glove he used.
He’s look decent this year so far, I think he was either hurt/sick or just an off night.
Had to have been an off night, he still made some key saves. But this team hasn’t been helping their goalies whatsoever this season. They’re awful

So I’m stuck with my stock eflex4 sticks for a while, I was gonna custom order eflex5 sticks for college but they aren’t doing stick orders right now... said they will in the fall... makes no sense since right now would be the perfect time to? kinda frustrating but it’s whatever.
