Yeah it does, it has a tighter fit on the backhand then my UltraSonic but its the same soft neoprene style palm. the biggest thing is the glove just ending and not continuing into a any sort of cuff. I am not sure if this was cut off or made like that.

It’s all white no graphic. The only Hyperlite feature is the logo. I haven’t seen the Mach blocker in hand yet, it could be a proto for that line. I’m 90% sure it’s a prototype, I just don’t know for what. The blocker came from a kid who has been getting early release Bauer/Prototype/Demo gear for a couple of years. Maybe this was a way of combining the 2 piece (1X) open cuff and an Ultrasonic. Before deciding to resurrect that blocker for custom?

I’m going to hijack this thread, I have what a believe is some sort of prototype blocker branded as Hyperlite. It’s an Ultra Sonic board and sidewall but it has a different cuff then both the Ultrasonic and the Hyperlite. There is wide open cuff. A similar style to the 2-Piece (1x) style but wide open after the palm. I’m not sure if it was cut out or made without it, but certainly an oddity.

I think that comes from the idea that the D’s job is not to defend, it’s to regain possession and transition to offence. There have been a lot of small, mobile, puck moving D that have gone in the NHL draft the last number of years. And the skating of these kids is unbelievable. That said a colleague of mine who coaches in the BCHL believes that the the big Dman will make its return and teams will model after Tampa Bay’s big and heavy D.

I admitted you’re right. What else do you need? I get to ignore your data because your argument is committing a fallacy. You’re beating up a strawman, and arguing against yourself. I never said small goalies aren’t effective. I didn’t say they were bad. I never even said “don’t draft them.” I did say, teams are not drafting smaller goalies and are not forecasting to change that any time soon. This is based off recent conversations I have had with goalie coaches and goalie specific scouts at the NHL level. I provided last years draft to provide support and context. So, if you think I’m lying about having these conversations with people, or am lying about what they told me in those conversations we can have that discussion.

Damn, I’ve been exposed. Yes it’s a conspiracy I made up in collaboration with “Big Goalie” to stifle smaller goalies. My information is completely made up and not at all based on real answers provided by NHL coaches and scouts . It’s a coincidence that 2021 was the tallest goalie draft class in history with an average of draft pick of 6’3 1/2.

I love Saros, and hopefully there will always be outliers. While being a fan of smaller goalies and being someone that hates that the size argument is making its way into minor hockey. Unfortunately, I don’t see smaller guys being sought after again. I’ve heard that rumour of the small goalie comeback but not from people, “I love small goalies but we’re not going to draft them.” “If we draft a 6’5 goalie and he doesn’t work out it’s alright, if I drafted a 6’0 goalie and he doesn’t work out I’ll lose my job.” I just completed a interview series with a number of goalie coaches and goalie scouts at the NHL/AHL and Hockey Canada level. The adage of we don’t look at guys under 6’3 is very strong (they actually use to say 6’2 so it might be going up). You mention the ability to play on a goalies knees, the skating ability and especially “down-skating” of guys like Shesterkin is/will be so influential on a the next generation of goalies. Teams are looking for goalies who can control and catch their edges combined with a someone whose shoulders stay level with the cross bar while down.

The Knee strap from the cradle may soon be the next to go. With Professor strap, rotation control, FRS, whatever you are calling it it can make the knee cradle strap redundant. Carey Price dropped the knee elastic with the True 12.2 opting to go with a leather strap and the FRS. The new 20.2 come “stock” without any knee elastic, opting for a nylon and Velcro hybrid. That said I don’t think goalies are wearing pads super loose, I actually think they are the opposite. More goalies are wanting a tighter connection to the pad typically around the top of the calf which also allows the overall pad to sit much higher on the foot.

It’s the return of the Lefevre flipped graphic blocker. For those of you that don’t know every now and then a flipped graphic will show up, it’s like seeing a double rainbow. In an actual discussion, I’ve seen Gibson’s glove have a 20.2 backhand instead of 12.2, Blackwood’s Ccm backhand. Now this, do we think that supply-chain issues are causing Lefebvre to throw on whatever will fit to make it though right now?

And it could be Hyperlite palm and 2XPro backhand, or again my guess is the Hyperlite palm was likely a running update to NHL guys in the 2X gloves, and he just kept his specs as he when he updated the graphic.

Pro gloves can always differ then retail. But my best guess is that it’s a 2XPro with the Hyperlite graphic.

Again this what I see in your screenshot. Blue strap is the knee strap, Tune Fit to the middle.

Vasi, no you can see the blue placement of the Velcro on the calf. As strapping changes to sit more on top of the calf you’ll see more guys go without a knee strap like Price did for much of last year. The True 20.2 also don’t have a knee elastic on the traditional way, its skinnier and more of a replacement for the old leather knee straps.

I ended up using the CRS bootstrap and and it’s worked well enough. Considering a switch to the Hyperlite if I can find it.

I’ve used it on my one piece. I did use the cowling risers on them. I had no issues with sharpening. Just make sure then wheel is aligned to your blade height.

I know some people were having issues with the falling off the block. The stock Rotation strap isn’t great. Here’s a cheap hack. I attached the CRS boot strap. It was pretty tight the first use. But I hung the pads from the strap to stretch out and break the strap in. You may also note I added some extra Velcro real-estate to the calf wrap. My strapping is basically all concentrated around my upper calf.

Sometime in the 2020-2021 season Brossiot switched from the stock Vapor style outer calf wrap and strapping to this modded version seen here. So my question is is it an after market mod? It’s much different then anything Bauer has done including Vasi when he had his open leg channel. And for discussion sakes is there any (other) goalies using obviously /heavily modded equipment still? (I don’t mean variants of options from a drop-down menu). Bob’s skates?

Perhaps I’m grasping at straws. But the UltraSonic still has the Supreme branding on it. The Hyperlite could still carry the Vapor branding as well.

Yeah they’re all 2X graphic. However, there are a lot of tweaks that aren’t on the standard 2X Pro (which I own). The blocker has the ultrasonic palm and cuff, but with the 2X sidewall. I’m fairly certain this is not a custom option. I know regardless of what graphic you needed to order the Ultrasonic blocker (sidewall and board included) to get the new palm and cuff. This seems to be a hybrid. They’re small details but something Is different. The molding on the lower calf wrap just below the straps is different then the Ultrasonic and 2X pro. Maybe I’m looking too hard but the molding is similar to molded graphic on the front. The Tune Fit straps seem to loop back and Velcro to themselves. And the professor strap uses similar loop back Velcro instead of the clip that comes on the UltraSonic set.

I may be looking into things to closely, but there is enough tweaks I think these are Demo hypercomps. Slight differences in the outer calf wraps molded graphic and professor strap. I believe these are demos of the Vapor replacement (Hypercomp). Slight changes in the Velcro straps? Looks like you can play around with them a little more.
