  1. ive heard it holds the pad width at the maximum 11 inches width, and if you check brians out they have that lacing on the optik 2 knee block, so its likely same reason brians does it- to hold the calf and knee stack in place better. CCM tends to care more about performance properties for the gear given to the pros from what i can tell
  2. ah that sucks. I agree superior could totally use a facelift, but at the same time i kinda like the place, it has more of an old school feeling compared to say the rinx/dix hills, but i think dix hills has the nicest facility, and the rinx is pretty nice too. both feel a lot more modern than superior. also dont totally love the underground locker rooms, i personally hate going up and down those stairs in full gear.
  3. me too, i regularly used a warrior sr2 for over a year and it never broke till i snapped it in half one day. i got a swagger pro 2 for christmas and have used it twice so far and so far so good, but the paints starting to chip. i find the stick itself holds up extremely well but the paint does not.
  4. With Lefevre apparently going solo, will the extremely popular Eflex series get the same revamp the Axis gives to the Premier? I think if the Axis and Eflex are made by the same people, we will see the Eflex turn into a Vapor style pad, where its very stiff. Could this lead to pro goalies in Eflex going to another soft faced line like Velocities or G-Netik? Or with the trend of going stiffer and stiffer with pads, could we see all hybrid style pads fazed out? Just a thought I had. If I was running CCM I wouldve had Lefevre continue to design the Eflex lineage as the soft, traditional line and keep having whoever is currently making the Axis to let them keep the Axis as a stiff, innovative, technology advanced line. With how popular the Eflex line is I think it would be a TERRIBLE move on CCMs behalf to change up the Eflex though.
  5. Yes and No. i told my dad all i really wanted was new pads and that i wanted either gt2s or G4’s. He said he watches my game more than anyone and thought the g4 would be better and that im more of a butterfly goalie than hybrid and that I’ll do better with a flat faced pad.
  6. Game Ready. TGNs big on Game Ready breaks

  8. Lmao These pads look innovative, so im SURE Lefevre didnt design them
  9. thats because Lefevre didnt design these.
  10. is it called the 3s pro or something else?
  11. This is the year with the 2s Lite stick if I’m not wrong. Which is even lighter than the 2s pro, but even more durable as well
  12. like the 1,2,3,4 flex ratings
  13. What are the max cores flex ratings?
  14. I ended up going to one of the better teams in the league in the high school draft, which is nice. I got my first game in on Friday in the 3rd period and allowed no goals, but then got my first start yesterday and allowed 6. I held them to 2 goals the first period, but i let up 2 bad bounces, a softy, and 3 PP goals. Pre season tournament was good to get to know my new team and I’m excited for this season!
  15. As far as who the lines are designed for, theyre similar. Theyre designed to be stiffer, looser fitting pads. However, from what i felt when i checked pads out in pure goalie, Stiff- 2s pro, s29 Flexible- Ef4, Optik (both chassis), P2, GT, Gnetik IV not stiff, but not soft (medium)- G4, SLR1/2, V8 Honestly, i added the s29 bc it was extremely stiff for a mid level pad. i know they have an nxg core but theyre still VERY stiff for a mid price point pad. MUCH stiffer than its competitors like the P2.9, G4 Senior, Slr pro (not pro carbon), etc Maybe i use a lot of force when flexing my pads, but i didnt find too many pads in the store to be that crazy stiff, i could flex a lot of them pretty easily.
  16. Round roll, boot angle, sliding materials 2s is much stiffer than premier, especially in the boot optik is much thinner than both, and has the really thinned out outer roll while bauer angles it and ccm has standard size still
  17. For pads i have eflex 2 760s. They’ve been the only pads I’ve ever worn. It’s gonna be a VERY big transition in to whatever pad i get next. As for gloves, i had a pair of Greiss pro returns for the past year but i was getting absolutely terrible stingers in the glove and the blocker Palm was simply too big, so i got RGT2s for my birthday with my dad! I haven’t worn one before, but it felt very nice. Very different from my NME 8 but In a very good way. The strapping is definetley different but it makes the mask sit better on my head i think. The way the Bauer sat on my head the backplate was really uneven and uncomfortable, this one sits more flush on my head. Tough shopping for helmets when you’re built like a bobblehead And, also somehow sold my NME 8 in like 10 minutes! Sold it on sideline swap for 135$. But yeah, i did some work for my parents and grandparents to get money, as well as sold some of my old gear to get funds. It also didn’t hurt that my grandma gave me 500$ for my 16th birthday as the equivalent of girls having sweet 16s. I unfortunately wasn’t able to find a place to work at outside of my house, the rink i wanted to work at only takes 18+ kids, and a shop i applied to work at didn’t ever call me back. I’m going to trades school this year to learn how to be a barber (something ive always had interest in is hair) so I’m going to try and get a job working around my local barbershop as an apprentice once i get my liscence, but beforehand try and get a job sweeping the shop or cleaning up after hours, etc. as well as applying to work as a cashier/etc. at a grocery store up the block, as they just announced they were looking for more employees.
  18. Finally don’t have a mask gap! sportmask x8 size XL Halfway done overhauling my gear, new skates, new c&a are next up, as new gloves and new mask have been addressed
