BlatAttack
Is the new Carbon steel in the 2s an upgrade for the 1s skates? Any noticeable differences??

Yes, it's taller than the 1S steel. This will give you a better attack angle and bite. The steel is also coated. This will make it hold an edge a lot longer. It's a similar concept to some of the aftermarket steel from Tyden or Step.

Mroy31
I haven't had any issues with the Tydan DLC blades. I mostly picked them because it was easier to order and ship to me than to find a Step retailer with stock, but they were great to deal with so I wouldn't hesitate to go back. But if new skates came with taller, coated steel to begin with, I also probably wouldn't swap it out. (Until the hardness test results come back from the Aftermarket Steel thread :))
