Xdave90x
I still use laces to tie my skates and really considering to buy elastic but my question is I currently have 2 inches of knots should I leave the knots there or start my elastic at the beginning of my toe bridge? coopaloop1234
Up to you to decide. I know the TGN styled Pro laces with the adjustable slack have been somewhat popular around here as that gives that loose feeling that lace toe ties used to, as well as it offers the benefit of the snap back of elastic ties. I think most guys are more than fine with just the stock elastic ties that start at the bridge. I'd start with the latter and go from there. You'll probably be more than fine. TDS-MN
Agreed, I think that you would want the elastic to be somewhat stretched to get the benefit from it. If it were laying slack between the length of lace and the skate, You would only get slight snap-back after it is stretched, before it would render itself useless being slack again. No first-hand experience using it connected as you mentioned, but it seems inefficient, IMO.
