So don't you technically hold it a bit lower than where you would hold the standard 25 since the full width paddle starts lower?

Steep shoulders? Is that like the rounded option from Bauer?

Paddle shavers, does shaving the paddle technically make it shorter? I know the paddle physically gets shorter but do you technically still hold a 25 where you would hold a stock one?

I know he was in eflex before but I guess its possible he had a 590. He switched to vapor when he went bauer at least in wjc a few years back. I suppose he could be in something else now. You are right though. A lot of my gloves have been slightly different than my regular friends.

Time for guess that glove!!! Does anyone have any ideas as to what Askarov is using? I know it looks like hyperlite construction with the lacing by the thumb but the pocket and palm angle doesn’t. Lets hear it.

Amidst his very organized locker, Askarov has what appears to be a retail hyperlite 2 glove.

Not sure who made that twitter post or who was talking in the video but if they aren’t goalies take it with many grains of salt. The biggest thing is many of these moves get overused. Sorokin ended his team’s season by going into the rvh when the guy was above the goal line on the boards. Its incorrect to use it in that situation. The overlap is for guys just above the goal line, but again goalies will use it at the wrong time and get burned. Same with how Vasy looks over screens. I do it the same way as him but once the shot is taken I’m no longer looking over, now I’m battling to make a save. The only reason its getting so much attention is because of who it is. Every NHL goalie uses a soft stance and probably overuses it too. They all sit in the rvh too long or go into it when they could just stand up. There are things they could all do to prevent more goals but their habits and comforts get in the way. Nobody is talking about Sorokin’s series, where overall he played very well but he let in a bunch of soft goals that went overlooked. At the end of the day its still a team sport and Vasy’s struggles are also partly on his team. Wings need to block shots, D got to move screens. Its never just one guy’s fault.

Kane has been playing hurt almost the entire season. Was part of why the split from the Hawks was rough. They wanted to hold him out, resign him for next year then trade him but he wanted to leave and win this year. He isn’t 100%.

That honestly just looks like an older Bauer glove thats been modernized. It closes closer to a 600 than a 580 to me.

I was being sarcastic about starting Elliot, I was just saying its not like putting one of us in the net if they pull Vasy. I disagree with them never pulling him.

I got a mach a few months back for the purpose of trying it out. I really like how it catches, but you're right, the shape is weird. It messes me up especially when I'm projecting my hands in tight.

I get he doesn’t like to be pulled but at some point you gotta do it for the the team. Elliot has lots of playoff experience I get he isn’t 20 anymore but he is still an nhl goalie

I love the idea of this thread, but never could really think of anything I regretted with my gear. I just found some old pictures of me, and yes, when I say old I mean maybe 8 or so years ago only. Man, how great with this setup have looked if I just put sport gold padskins over the silver here! Ugh! I guess either way, the Hiller tribute was in full swing!
