I’ve had it in my hands and on my head and while I’m excited about it from an engineering standpoint, man is it an ugly helmet and I’m worried if it’ll even fit anyone properly.

So the straps are on the back? The only part that is ugly to me is the vent holes, other than that its ok.

  2. I just looked at the custom catalogue. I love the variety of strapping options they have. What does everyone know about the new mask they have Demo and Markstrom wearing? It looks like they might be "copying" airexess (the mask Hiller and Berra wore) by putting all of the clips on the backplate.

Does anyone know if the Hyperlite 2 pads will have the “Balance Plate” or calf pillow that Hyperlite 1 has?

There seem to be some slight differences in terms of specs compared to Hyperlite 1 like the change of toe bridge alignment going from offset to centered being the stock option. Any other notable changes?

I would just read through the thread from the beginning and you’ll find your answers.

Man, I've had more stingers in the crease of my Mach glove than I've had in years of Warrior gloves.

Mostly at the index finger portion. Definitely thinking about going back to my Warriors.

Funny I’ve noticed the same thing with mine. Even in the cuff I’ll get hit and feel it. What a piece of shit. Still better than any non-stick piece of goalie gear warrior has ever made!

  5. The Optik 2 to me has been a great mix of strength and mobility. Very few soft spots if any at all. I’m super skinny too and haven’t had any issues, granted I’m 6’1 160. Might I also suggest mixing in some extra calories as well to add your own beef up option for free! Has certainly helped me!

  6. I switched as a squirt since I’m naturally left handed and was playing baseball lefty. It was easy for me since I only played a single year as a regular.

Best of luck if you switch, you may never buy retail gloves again

Forgot to include some photos of the Reimer blocker. Nothing special here but I love the loose-fit glove and Nash palm. I folded the cuff underneath itself to double the thickness and prevent my stick knob from catching when I poke check--not something Reimer does.

Thing is according to bauer the new 90 is not the same as the Reimer one you have. They could be lying but I don’t see why they would bother

Did you call Bauer directly? Or a store?

My store's inventory system has the cost of a Digiprint complete set at $3,419, a Pro Custom set at $3,089 and a regular Custom set at $2,964. All prices USD.

AFAIK, price on Digiprint does not differ by design; it's flat fee. But I'm never done a Digiprint set for a customer so I could be wrong.

I talked to my store’s manager. He said $500. He thinks the rep was talking some other sort of upcharge for special colors or something that really isn’t available to the public.

I was quoted an increase of $500 CAD off of the base price for the Digiprint/pro custom option.

I'd double check with your retailer and get a quote to make sure.

I will 100%. I actually talked to 2 different guys and my phone cut out so I had to call again. Guy 1 said it depends on the design. Guy 2 said $100. I'm wondering if $100 is a base price and maybe $500 is a max? If it does vary I assume a design they have already done would be cheaper since they already have the file.

  10. So a guy from Bauer just told me over the phone that digs-print is only a $100 add-on?? I hope that's true because tbh, when I'm already dropping 3k on a custom set what's $100 more.

I also asked about the 90 degree glove. I asked if it was the clone Reimer has been wearing and the guy freaked out as if he couldn't believe people knew the thing existed. He said he couldn't comment on any clone of a competitor's product or any details of what pros wear. I did get him to admit that this new glove is NOT the same as Reimer's and that this glove is intended as a direct rival to the CCM/True 580.

Anyway, given this development of rather in-expensive custom designing, I would like some professional opinions on what I should use. I'm using black, white, grey, silver, etc to keep it neutral since I don't know where I'm playing yet this season. I was thinking of maybe re-using one of the following designs just in those colors. You would think as a graphic designer I would make my own but why would I do all that labor when somebody was already paid to make these!!!image.thumb.jpeg.c70f02baef254c25a875d2e4a51c0076.jpeg

I think this is where our tastes would be considerably different….Innovation.

I’m not saying I’m blaming you or being and old man yelling at a cloud…I enjoy the content you generally produce…..but watching your videos and seeing how much you enjoy aftermarket tech everywhere it D3O, Airknit, CORTECH. Sigmatech,Nanolite. It’s kind of adding gas to the fire.

I mean have you seen a Bauer or CCM player stick lately? They basically have the entire Bauer literature info printed on it somewhere.

I find things to be out of hand, the stick is an Ad covered in ads with fine print ads.

To me innovating the gear is great, we took gigantic leaps based on radical ideas, but don’t let it get in the way of a good solid product. I feel some companies are now chasing that dragon. Are innovating to make stopping pucks easier, or are we cutting off the cuffs of our blockers because we need a new idea for next quarter.
At the end of the day a baseball glove is still a baseball glove is all I’m saying.

I agree with your thoughts on player sticks as well as the baseball glove analogy. If the gear does its intended purpose, well if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

However their is a balance to found with innovating as well. Does attaching the knee stack to the core of the pad make more saves? Probably not. But does it make some incremental improvements for playing the overall position? For sure.

I think the gloves may be at a place similar to a baseball glove. At the end of the day it needs to catch/block pucks, which they do.

The pads are more like the player sticks where theres a lot of ads for tech on them.
