  1. Where are you located @BauerHockey47 ???
  2. Cages can be found here. Cat eye only though. https://goalieparts.com/t/armadilla Finding a similar foam will be the fun part. And refurbing with rubatex or eva kills the value for anyone looking for a proper Armadilla. Fun project for sure.
  3. How are you finding there? I've been really curious about this set-up for a few years now but haven't come across any boots yet.
  4. Do yourself a favor and contact Michel at Protechsport. He offers custom foamed masks made with high quality resin and fibers starting around the same price as the big boys charge for the lexan/poly models. The trade off is wait time and having to send in a head mold. Well worth it in my opinion.
  5. Don Straus used to do this with the Armadilla masks. Never seen it done in a colour before. Looks really cool with the blue cage.
  6. Yes. Not as much lately. I make a one or two a year since we had our second kid.
  7. I have one buried in my workshop. Heaton 5 though
  8. Heres a 961 clone I made for my brother for his birthday last year. He painted it this summer in a Letterkenny theme.
  9. Ok cool, I was just clarifying that it is not a coincidence that he mounts his cages this way.
  10. The cheek area screw on lefebvre/protechsport masks serves two purposes. One is a cage mounting point. The other is to keep the chin sling from rotating. Having a sling mount at four points instead of two (just the harness snaps screws) prevents this from happening.
  11. The black foam he uses is EVA foam. The beige foam is Rubatex (Vinyl nitrile). The EVA Michel uses is softer than Rubatex. I believe this is still his default foam.
  12. The mask that Michel made the mold from would not determine where and how he mounts the cage. The molds are smooth and so it the shell that comes out of it. Hole cutouts would be defined by a trimming jig or be laid out by hand. I believe he has just chosen to mount the cage in the way he usually does with the Lefebrve shells (temple, cheek, chin). Note how there is no mount points in the forehead. Also, the mount point in the cheek area has never been used in Wright/Itech/Bauer masks (to my knowledge anyways). Wright made masks and 960/961s always had cages mounted forehead/temple/chin. Old 950s and NVY/NME masks are not mounted at the chin but have a second mount point at the bottom-side. I'm sure Michel would mount a cage in a different configuration if asked nicely(if it doesn't affect the integrity of the shell)
  13. It is likely molded directly off of a retail 961 or one of the many clones. In that case the outer dimensions would be identical but the inner dimensions would depend on the lay-up. Also how its foamed. Michel would know the answer to this and would probably be more than happy to help you.
  14. I'm 99% sure none of the holes (venting or hardware) will line up. I have done foam on both types of masks (Bauer and my own 961 clones... not ProtechSport), and a lot of the holes are close, but not the same. That said, Michel could always map the holes to match your foam. Not sure he'd be up for doing that though. And honestly, the EVA foam he uses is really, really comfortable. So it might be a better bet to get him to pad it as he usually does and in the end if you don't love it try some alternate options.
  15. Centering the cage can be done by filling the gaps between the "U" and the cage clips with vinyl tubing. Like this.... Should be able to find this at your local hardware/auto parts supplier. I believe the diameter of the bars on your cage are 3/16". Find something that diameter or similar. cut two pieces to fill the voids, cut slits in them and wrap them around the cage to act as spacers. (This need some TGN-style green highlighting circles... but its late and I'm lazy) I did these ones outside of the clips... but you get the idea. This is commonly used these days but painters to protect the paint.... but works really well to keep the cage centered as well.
  16. Original eagle mask was defiantly Harrison. The one after was as well (with the talons) This one looks like a Warwick though. Maybe 96?
  17. Those are all Warwicks minus Potvin. Sad news for sure.
  18. He was good with me coming by on a Sunday on my way home from a Montreal trip. But that was just to pick up a cage. Just send him an email.
  19. Ha. I wish. I have all black gear. Sherwood T95s and Vaughan Ventus gloves. BTW the site is great on mobile too.
  20. I guess its time to make the jump over to here as well. I posted this already on GSBB but I might as well migrate over here. I am not a Facebook user so it is nice to see this forum gaining steam. Mask is a 961 clone. Paint was started earlier in the season when my team got new jerseys... but got put on hold when a tree fell on our house in the new year... then my wife had a baby the next week Things are settling down so I wrapped it up in time for playoffs. I'm guessing this thread is handling "Show off you mask" as well as general mask discussion duties? SBR?
