  1. Did you have any chance try the eclipse in a game ? I am looking to order a new 580 style glove since my true px3 is a little big for my small hands. I have a vapor 90 that I love but would like to know your opinion on the new eclipse glove before ordering either a vapor 90, an eclipse or a px3 with int palm (which was not available last year).

Yes, you can ask your retailer to specify black laces on your order instead. I had the same issue when I ordered my 12.2 l87 set

@Chenner29 How would you compare the stiffness of the thigh of the px3 to your 20.2? According to the catalog it is supposed to be stiffer on the px3... I am currently in a 12.2 set and i am not sure if i should go 20.2 or px3 for my next set. Thanks
  4. I put to boot strap under the foot. there was no specific channel. That would not work with prolaces.
  5. I played with unihocs also and those were great too. They were really light and flexible but mine did not have any places for toe ties. Durability was not an issue as i've played about 2 40 games seasons before replacing them.
  6. I think your best bet is going with reasony or knapper ball hockey shoes but you need to put the boot strap a la lundy loop with the knapper shoes (i had the ak7 model and mine held up for about 100 games. I don't use any toe attachment on my pads so i can't comment on these. The hagan shoes are cheap for a reason, here is what mine looked after a 39 minutes game on sportcourt tiles. The only issue i had with my reasony shoes after about 60 games was loosing one of the screws attaching the toe cap in place. It seems that these are screwed directly in the sole so there is not much holding these in place. I have tried gluing them to no avail, so i just gave up and lost one.
  7. The sliders are still in perfect shape and have not loosened up. I don't know if passau have corrected the problem as of now, but i keep hearing durability isn't perfect for other users too. To be honest, i have not seen or held a newer reasony pads in my hands. I have heard that the screws holding the modulars parts tend to loosen and fall from the vibrations of falling in butterfly and sliding. So i have heard you either have to check the screws before each game or use locktite (which remove the modular features of the pads..)
  8. I have the passau ball hockey set but i have never held a ice hockey set in my hands so i can't compare. I would say there is more nylon on the pads and blocker. I believe the internal foams are softer too. The pads were kinda stiff when new but have gotten pretty soft fast. I also think the strapping is different. The pads are great, slide well and rebounds are fast. You have to use their sizing chart because they fit taller than normal ccm/bauer etc. However, durability is a bit lacking, the jenpro on the boot part of the leg channel got ripped open after +/- 20 games. My previous reasony efficency (when they built normal pads) where much better in that department. They're in better condition and i have played almost twice as many games with the reasony set. A blocker is a blocker. I had quality issues with mine at first, as the jenpro was loose on the front and the palm was not sewn properly. The pinky was rotated so it was the mesh part that got in contact with my stick. However, it was replaced under warranty. As for the catcher, i have not used mine much. I prefer the feel of my older reasony glove. I feel the passau one is bulkier and i can't catch quite as nice with it. I would say the base kit (all white or black) is worth it for the price (1650$ CAD). I would not pay 1000$ cad more for a custom set as i feel the quality is not worth it.
  9. I use the stock ccm speedblade xsg1 black from my supertacks as3 that i stopped using as i started having bauer bumps issues. I do plan on buying step black in the future though.
  10. As seen on TGN instagram account, i joined the group too ! Tried them on for some ODR time this afternoon, very pleased so far !
