We are well versed on the gut trap", yes?
Yessir!
Gut trap isn’t bad on the 1X; just from the mid-torso up, it is a bit less than abysmal since I de-flubbered the shoulder floaters. The Flumpmeister 3000 (the project) should have nothing get away from me, and then I incorporate these improvements into the 1X.

Those older RBK P1's are sweet. The newer CCM version of this is nice, too.
I do have a RBK P2 that was NOS. Dennis Dombrowski fortified the body. It is a tank. I like it, but not as much as the 1X.

I used to play with and against a former female pro who carried the puck lacrosse-like on the blade, about 2-3” off the ice. She was an incredible puck handler, and she’d fling the puck into the goal for one of her trick shots. Of course she would piss off the 30-somethings who thought they were passed over for the National and they would try to hit her, which she would be even more slippery and make them look like idiots. I was in lurve

I will commission four air bags (two pair) from my local seamstress (with my materials) for both the flumpy chestie and my 1X. These will go behind the shoulder floaters to help with absorbing energy. My goal is to make certain that if that puck goes anywhere near my torso, it will not bounce off of me. I don’t care one bit about it flying off of my arms as those pucks will go to a corner. Pucks off the torso can lead to trouble. I can concede pucks being bounced from the shin or boot. Hot rebounds from the blocker are welcome. But off of the body? Hell no.

You need to chat with the modification dudes, guy now working for Simmons and Jake from UK and the likes. They all do tons of work on their gear to mod it for better or worse lolll.
I know that making air pillows for behind the shoulder floaters (along with the softer foam) will greatly displace impact. This is more of an exercise than anything, as the chesty that has the full time job is my 1X. I will likely experiment and incorporate mods onto the 1X. It is my fave hands down, especially after a few mods I have performed on it. This flumpmeister will be a back up chesty for the most part, and be used in games that I know that my D will be pylons.

Memory foam, albeit small pieces, will be heavier and retain more water (sweat) than needed (stink factor)
Then no memory foam for flump’s sake!

Is there a super flumpy option?

Betting on games seems like a fast way to get a lot less enjoyment out of following any sport. Instead of "hooray my team won!" or "disappointing, but we'll try again next game" it turns into "even though we won, my team didn't score enough to cover the spread" or "my lousy team cost me $10 today!" I have never understood the appeal of it.
Agreed 100%.
I have actually grown tired of a few minutes of NHL OTF for the betting lines. Just yucky. But it just seems that this has become a lot of the focus as of late.- 1

I will make two flumpy pillows to go behind the shoulder floaters or could put some memory foam in the floaters for pure, unadulterated flump.

Yeah I can't compete with that. Are you going to have rebounds at all, or are they just going to get absorbed in you?
I hope that the puck gets lost in the flump.

@bunnyman666 there's a large Heaton Firewall on Sidelineswaps. Maybe down your alley?
I had a Brown for many many years and because he uses plastic, it doesn't really become cush. The Mckenney on the other hand could, talking of the 870 Pro Spec here.
We’ll see how my ultra flumpified (save for the arms) Vaughn does. But I appreciate you looking out for me, of friend in flumpiness.

I’m English and I hate football (soccer). North American sports are far more entertaining and more fun to play. I’ve always seen ice hockey as more of a specialist sport, both in playing and in spectating.
What I take from @bunnyman666 is more of a basketball scoring system. As he mentioned, 2 points for it being shot from the point. But then again, I’m probably misunderstanding! I’m a traditionalist when it comes to sports and it’s scoring, rules, equipment etc.
Evolution in how the game is played, tweeks in existing rules regarding to play or equipment is inevitable. But major changes to the game itself seems illogical to me, personally.
You understood correctly.
Do I like it? No, but it would make for better gambling without doing anything else to the net or the goalie equipment, as the proposals that were coming out were making gloves dangerous. With current materials and the ever evolving player stick construction, they are essentially at the peak of size/protection that they can do, save for decreasing pad width to intermediate size (10.5”).

I don't know. Modern fans are more aware of concussions and less likely to appreciate fighting. In European professional hockey, fighting is not as much of a thing, because fighting is an ejectable offense under IIHF rules. Perhaps that will be the future of the NHL as well.
It might also be a generational thing as well for the players, because fewer of them fight compared to players of prior years, and the number of fights per game has decreased.
I certainly will concur that fighting will eventually go away. But for so many, it is a means to rev up the fans. It’s something that is slowly leaving the game.

Another thought expanding upon popularity in hockey: Bettman knows that completely eliminating fights would alienate both current fans and potential fans that like the fights, but also eliminates another side bet possibility. Also, making more penalties makes for more power play potential, increasing scoring.

It's got some flump for sure, but could always do with some more. What did you end up cooking up in the lab?
Lower end Vaughn L80, with an air chest pad backing, followed by stuffing the heart guard with more flumpy goodness

I want flumpiness. As flumpy as my favourite blanket or hoodie.

ah, so more variation in what the final scores are. I see.
Well, if the driver is to make it less boring for new fans, I suppose that could be one little trick. I'd hate it, but it could work, I suppose.
I knew a woman who hated American Football, but loved gambling on it because of the points spreads, etc. She made lots of money gambling on American Football.

I was actually making a joke
Though I will say this: a flumpy butterfly option would be good. The R/GT was the flumpiest option from Warrior.
