You mean a downgrade from your H5? ;) But seriously, I got a few years left in my H5 and still think it's the best CA ever made. Light, protective, mobile. Ticks all the boxes. Just needs a heartguard maybe. But since I'm heartless, it doesn't matter ;) I've got a Bauer Reactor 9000 CA lined up next, and the Warrior R/GT felt pretty mobile in the shop. But Somebody should really make clones of the H5, it's like the T5500 of CA's.

Lol What I did like about the H5 Erik is its light mobile minimalist design. What I didn't like was the lack of rib protection and belly thickness. I'm sure there are a few unused pro returns stashed away in a forgotten teams overstock closet. Wish I could get in touch with all the NHL/AHL trainers and ask then to check for me :D

  2. I saw the 905 and 906 locally at the shop. Weight wasn't that bad, nice Kevlar finish inside. Can't remember which it was but one had my nose up at the cage where the other one had sufficient space and a snugger fit at the cheeks. I did find the foam kinda thin though on both. Can anyone comment on the impact feel from shots?

That is definitely the prototype!  I saw it at the shop when I was visiting Vaughn.  So if people are unaware Vaughn bought Graf Canada (I believe)  They moved the machines in the back of the Vaughn plant and that's where they are currently being produced.

As for the skate they are doing something similar as True did they are taking the player holder and modding it so it can handle goalie steel.

Those blades will be getting trimmed down a bit i believe less toe and a 5mm decrease in height as they are really tall.

They will offer both 3mm and 4mm as we discussed this when we were in the plant.  Both my Vaughn rep and myself like 4mm steel.  So I said why not have the option for both!?

Its not a bad skate for it's design and they will do custom as well!  Not with a scanner yet but they may do that in the future.

So I guess the cowling lines have been scratched off altogether.

  4. Just some interesting numbers on these.

My Warrior Abbys foam core stick weighs 975g
    My Sher-wood 530 wood stick weighs 970g
My new Sher-wood GS350 foam core stick weighs in at 852g. That's a BIG difference! Can't wait to try it out.

I've got 3 games tonight back to back to back, 2 as a player and 1 in net. so that's 2 bags 4 sticks puck bag and cooler.Oh and my pregame coffee, I'm out of shoulders. The only things I'll ever wheel into the rink are the cooler and my broken ass in a wheelchair.??

Honestly I'm disappointed you didn't add "trainer, coach, asst. coach and GM" ;) loll :D

I just got the 32" bag for my player gear, will be loading it in the car tonight for it's first go. Seems well built, I'm impressed with the quality of the mesh, wish there were more accessory pockets but whatever, I'll know more after tonight.

My CCM goaler bag blew out all 4 corners so I transferred the gear to a 40 inch vented Warrior bag. Not sure how long it will hold up as everything has to be loaded just so to get it to fit(yes my 33 G2 Pros are in the bag). The Warrior bag had been my player bag(although very oversized for that use) so I just shuffled stuff around. For me it seems anything smaller than 44"x22"x22" is a fight to load.

Be a man! Show off those pads with pride when walking to the rink  :D:P

    My purchase today:

2 Sher-wood GS350 (PP41) foam core sticks, 26", regular in white/blue/red (last ones they had in HABS colourway). They were 125$ea but got them at 88$ea. My only gripe is that they are made in China. Will this have an effect on durability? We shall see. I'm saddened to see such an iconic stick brand source itself overseas for production. Stupid part is that I bet they are using Canadian maple they bought from us to then sell back to us :o

My current Warrior stick is getting beat up and my Sher-wood 530 is near death so I just had to. Won't use them until I've bought my new pads and blocker. Y'a y'a, crazy I know. I just want to feel "clean" :D

Will do. I've got 2 skates in with the stock LS1G Steel so I can only imagine how much of an improvement the 5G will be.

I'm very impressed with the skates overall I wish I would have switched to cowlingless earlier.  The 3mm takes some getting used to tho

The LS5 is a major jump, you'll see. I too am still working on the 3mm. A lifetime of cowlings and 4mm takes time to deprogram :P
