I think it's a matter of time till True and CCM try their hand at these lace-less skates, then I wonder what these guys will do. Those buckles are so much money, jeez.

I'd agree with that. Just yesterday I picked up a pair of Konekt HF2s and while I really liked the tendy buckles in the time I used them the Konekts are better, as they should be being purposefully designed this way.

  2. Just an update after a little over a year and a half of use. I've recently had the top buckle on each skate snap at the same spot, right around the screw hole. Otherwise, the performance of these has been really good.

Just got done playing five nights in a row. Haven’t done that in a while. I slept pretty soundly last night.

I'm in the midst of 7 in 9, but I'm on vacation from work. I'm only on day 3 and skate 3 so far, but I had a 2 hour nap this afternoon already!

No it isn't. They will all look like the picture of the one Richman posted. The CCM pro stock units now all look the exact same as the picture he put up.

I would assume this is just an older one, based on the neck not having ccm branding as well as having a fight strap.

  5. This is probably the first Warrior set I'm not itching to try. I really liked G3 through G5, but the G6 set I had for a bit just never clicked and I'm not sure about the G7 due to that.

Yes, I am aware that many of you have seen this image before but, not in this context.

Small goalie bag in very smaller trunk (boot) with pads buckled together and slung over left shoulder, leaving left hand to carry sticks.

When I had a Miata, I just undid the 4 bolts holding the passenger seat in and tossed the bag there.

I've been buying used the past few years mostly for the ability to try different types of gear to see what sticks. I will typically buy new for stuff I'm sure I like.

I'm in Bauer leg pads now, but it took me a couple of tries at it before I found the set I like. Tried the 2S (hate it), tried the 3S (loved it), tried the Mach (they were fine) and ended up going with the Ultrasonics.

Without the used market, I'd probably still be in Warrior's.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one. If I look back at what I've sold in the last 2 or so years, I've used (in no particular order) Optiks, JRZ Fusions, Gnetik 4, Eflex 3, Optik 2, G4, G5, G6, currently in Axis 2 pads and Vaughn gloves. The only way I can do this is the used market. A few times I've been able to sell a set for more than the one I've replaced it with, and not that I am keeping a tally of how much up or down I am on it but I'm certain I've not spent more than it would be to custom order a single set.

With glove prices going up the way they have been, I think you'll start to see a lot more people follow suit to sticking with what they have.

Hell, if you asked me a month ago, I would've told you I was probably going to get a new set come spring/summer. With how prices keep increasing due to "inflation" (though somehow it's way higher than the inflation rate) and how happy I am with my set, I highly doubt I'll be dropping any cash for new gear.

My stuff is all in great condition anyways.

This is the biggest reason why I buy stuff used. There are plenty of people with more money than I have to drop on new gear and the resale value is so much less that great deals are readily available.

I cannot they fix it and my hand cannot go inside the glove

Ah, I see. With mine, I took a shot right off the thumb while messing around knocking pucks down with my paddle and wasn't sure if I had broken it or not until I went to the doctor a couple days later. He didn't think it was broken either, but I had it x-rayed anyway and lo and behold it was broken. There wasn't really anything they could do for it with how it broke they said, so now I just have one permanently fatter thumb that kind of clicks.

I will have my set next week

I can’t play for 2 weeks because à of a broken thumb but I’ll try to do a review of this set with my limited English writing skill

Beautiful set. From personal experience, you can play with a broken thumb! It does suck to do so though.

Just booked myself a vacation trip to Montreal in October and got myself a ticket to MTL v NJD.  Pretty excited to eat some good food, see the sights, and do some serious puck hunting for my collection.  I hope to get up to the local QMJHL arena to get one there, for sure, as well as a Canadiens one, of course.

I'm hoping a certain Ottawaian/Ottawan/Ottawaster/Ottawaarian ???? on this forum makes the drive over to have some poutine and beers for lunch with me and take me to some gear shops........we shall see.

Gotta get some Montreal smoked meat.

    congrats! any pics?

I guess. $650 USD for the set, the ol' intermediate sized discount. They're 32+2 though and taller than the "senior" Eflex 3 set beside. I measured my hands and I'm exactly at the bottom of the range for senior and the top of the range for intermediate, so I figured I'd give it a go.

  13. I thought I wouldn't be playing much this year, but I just worked a bunch of overtime at work and had a little too much downtime and bought a new to me Warrior G6 set...oops.
