Pads arrived today and my set is nowcomplete, 17 weeks for pads but only 10 for mitts.

I am super excited about them.  Only 1 error on the set, no Pro Logos on the pads, but I have them on the gloves.  So now I have the controversial VE8 logo on the pads, but I don't mind because I actually like it, plus it matches my gear anyway.

Here's some pics with our new jerseys, navy/baby blue Penguins, and socks and my new royal Ventus pants with a navy CCM shell.

I also installed Nash bungee toe ties.

These pads are awesome.  Super light and stiff as a board.

Beautiful set. VE8s are more than likely going to be my next pad.

The problem I have with this situation that seems to come up with EVERY independent goalie gear/niche goalie parts manufacturer that finds itself struggling with shipments. In almost every case where one of these niche companies can't meet deadlines or delivery dates, some truly awful tragedy strikes them that gives them an excuse for not completing orders.

Since the days of the very first post that ever hit the GSBB these events were always the primary excuse for not delivering. Countless companies have come and gone, some still operating and oddly every one of them is cursed with an unimaginable tragedy that gets in the way of business.

I truly hope this is exactly that, an excuse to draw sympathy towards the situation allowing the company to continue to miss deadlines or catch-up because I don't wish that hell his family may be going through on anyone.

For a company that has obliterated trust with customers and suppliers alike, I have an incredibly hard time allowing myself to trust them to tell the truth about anything.

I do wish the family all the best in a very trying time.

I know this post will come across as crass and to some completely cold and dispassionate but as I'm sure other members that have been around on other old/new gear forums can attest to just how prevalent these types of situations are in this industry.

You’re not coming across as cold at all, I completely agree. They’ve always had issues even before that incident.

Very good to know. I'm getting the VE 8 blocker and catcher tomorrow. The pads I'm still on the fence about..

Thinking I might just buy em both and wear em in my basement to try and feel em out as best as I can and just return whatever one I don't go with.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Only criticism I have about the PVE is the lack of strapping and customization to the user, but has worked perfect for my skinnier legs. the upside is is that it takes half the time to get em on compared to other pads

I WISH I could go custom. However the carbon version of the PVE or the VE8 is just out of my budget.. :(

I used to have the PVE non carbon pads and it’s pretty good. No visible wear on it at all except for at the knee where I used to use the Velcro strap directly behind my knee and taking the Velcro off. Didn’t affect the performance of the pad, although having it for a few months it held up really well.

Just order Pro Logos as a mod.

NHL spec branding simplicity.  Only 3 branding items allowed on a blocker.

Oh wow. Can you list off some of the mods? I’m planning on getting a new set of gloves since I’m on the ice a lot as to not wear out my current ones so I get exactly what I want

I can't stress enough how comfortable add and firm this blocker is.  The backhand pad is awesome and makes it feel tight yet pillowy.

I also really like the air cushion beside the thumb. Not sure if the V7 had that but the V6 does not.

The foam pad beside the index finger worried me at first. It was a bit stiff and I couldn't grab my water bottle because of it. But after one game it was fine once it and the palm loosened up a bit.

This was probably the blocker I feel required the most break-in of all my various Vaughn blockers but now that it is broken-in I have no functional issues and it still feels super firm and cushy.

I honestly don’t see much of a need for the finger protector as I try to be more adequate with my pokechecking. I asked not to have it in my LT98 and a puck has never found its way to there and hurt me at all. I guess it’s more of a shock absorber because I’ve taken some very hard shots to the paddle and have gotten some ringers and felt it in my hand

Also, how were you able to get no dick logo on the finger? ?

And the dick comes in handy as it looks like you are giving people the finger.

It also comes in handy in case a shooter pisses you off so you’re concussing them and flipping them off at the same time!

I have and they are fucking glorious!  Love them!

How’s the blocker? I’m considering having it side by side with my LT98 (not to compare at all)

i saw the blocking angle on it and it’s much like my LT98. the palm and finger protection looks nice, although I’d be removing the extra finger protection covering the pointer finger

Someone always seems to get pics of somebody wearing them on ice, in practice or whatever. Spy pics pointing out new straps, different pad face etc. Well ahead of any marketing starting up

It’s likely they want to keep it a secret or they don’t have any demo sets yet or someone’s out there but we don’t know who. I’m indifferent in this subject and respect whatever reason they’re doing it but it would be nice to see if they’ve come up with new sliding technology

So how come we see pros using blank EF4's, GnetikIV's, reskinned 2S/2X, well before any marketing. But Vaughn drops the SLR 2 on instagram and we haven't seen a single person in a demo set yet?

How would you even know who’s demoing it or not?

They own the goal stick market in the NHL, for one. If not ourright own, they are close to it.

They do appear on pros in other pro leagues. And the Warrior goalie gear seems to sell very well to schlubs like us. I have not seen a fire sale of Warrior gear since the Messiah stuff. They will eventually pony up the $$$ for gear in the NHL in the next few years. If they are in trouble, I have not heard of it, unlike Bauer.

I might think of getting a warrior CR1 if they f*ckin had it in full right!! Yes it’s coming out in 2019, I better be impressed as I currently have a BPM150
