Will they allow you to remove unused color zones, so there is no stitching/extra jenpro layers for large sections of a single color?

Zero modification on their pads, graphics or color zones.  Streamlines production

Has Warrior ever swapped graphics from one model to another?

No... I asked this when I was debating GT2 vs Optik 2.  Rance at TGC confirmed Warrior will not skin newer models with older graphics, nor will they allow to deleted or modify color zones (I asked about a split color outer roll on the classic graphic).  I wanted GT1 graphics on a GT2 set.

Also, graphic looks to not have a lot of variance to it. I have a feeling we'll see a lot of samey looking sets.

    Kind of like the GT2.

From what I've seen the whole cutting the pad face in half on the GT2 will be alive and well on the G5

I don't know, however if you get in touch with Dave Wilcox at Kenesky, he should be able to help you. I believe he designed most of the TPS line.

Modified 60.  Baseball style closure.  Similar to the Bionic, Summit et al

    Hello all,

I am getting my first ever custom set of pads, and I'm looking to order within these next upcoming weeks. I'm seeking help with what specs I should get based on my play style and preferences. I'm on the shorter side (5'6") but still growing. I play a very athletic style. Right now this is what I'm thinking about going with.

I currently wear a size medium intermediate bauer pad, which is listed as 31+1, I'm thinking I should go with a 33+1.5.

Stock knee strap, mid knee (I wear the strap behind my knee.)

Stock boot strap through skate (I wear the bootstrap going through the back hole)

Standard toe bar with skate lace (planning on putting in Pro Laces)

Single break (undecided on what stiffness I should choose for the boot/thigh. Not sure what is the best for my style.)

I'm also thinking of going with a tapered toe (but what are the benefits?)

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: If there are different specs that you guys think would be good, let me know please.

Asking us what we think would be good is useless.  You need to spec your pads for your body, style and flexibility.  I would talk with a retailer at length about what you're looking for, Vaughn might not even be the best choice.  I'd recommend Craig Milner at Dukes or Chris Dudo at GM.  Both are well versed in Vaughn

    That's a great point.

Switching to Vaughn is probably not a thing.

There is 1 other VE8 user...all vintage brown, pretty sweet set...in my league of 100 teams . I mostly see lots of V5 and 6. Lots, I mean LOTS, of leather straps on all Vaughn I see around.

Nailed it.  Tons of guys with older Vaughn stuff, one local guy here has phenomenal V3 icebergs.

He nearly fell over when saw my GTs.  How light they were plus 2 velcro straps = mind blown.

I have zero issues with Vaughn pants,  chestie, or mitts.

It's the leg pads for me that are the biggest disappointment and leave the most to be desired.

I'm a lifelong Bauer skate goalie and and strongly devoted to Warrior sticks and Sportmasks...as long as they are still around.

I'd love to try a 2S set because it's probably the most radically different than Vaughn.  I saw an asss amazing Optik 1 set for sale in my colors even that was tempting....but the Boa thingies really irk me.

Hence my switch to Brians.  As you know I thought about PVEs but too many companies are failing to innovate.  Vaughn being number 1.

And I love Boa... I dare say that my IV glove is new favorite all time

Someone on their Instagram said :

"it looks exactly like VE8 without magnets."

    Vaughn responded: "Incorrect."

No follow up on his they're different.

Their Twitter person should have been thrown out with the magnets.

That's insanity...Vaughn is quickly becoming irrelevant

And yet another absurd, tone deaf marketing pitch from Vaughn. Why do they just fail at social media and marketing year after year?

    The inevitable question:

"So....you didn't test your new pads?"

Is it because its another recycled, lacking innovation, tested and true Velo pad from Crazy Uncle Mike???

Cwarmar in what respect are the two other products better than speedskin ?

My son’s premiers are 100 % speedskin - there are no wear issues, not sure about slide-ability but no pre mature wearing and his on the ice on average 5 days a week for nearly 9 months a year.

Sliding... Which is why Vaughn and Brians don't offer Primo/Quickslide as stock material for color zones (Upcharge only upon request).  Primo/Quickslide is the most consistent sliding material in any ice conditions.

Too many people have been complaining about speedskin "sticking" to the ice when sliding.  Which is why you're not seeing very many, if any, CCM pro goalies using it over jenpro or weave.

  11. 1 hour ago, Telfo said:

they can just leave the eflex line as is if they would just use primo/quickslide on the sliding surface.

That material is proprietary to Brians... Because Mike Vaughn has a stake in Brians he is able to offer it thru Vaughn.

Jenpro or Weave is far superior to speedskin

With Lefevre apparently going solo, will the extremely popular Eflex series get the same revamp the Axis gives to the Premier?

I think if the Axis and Eflex are made by the same people, we will see the Eflex turn into a Vapor style pad, where its very stiff. Could this lead to pro goalies in Eflex going to another soft faced line like Velocities or G-Netik? Or with the trend of going stiffer and stiffer with pads, could we see all hybrid style pads fazed out? Just a thought I had. If I was running CCM I wouldve had Lefevre continue to design the Eflex lineage as the soft, traditional line and keep having whoever is currently making the Axis to let them keep the Axis as a stiff, innovative, technology advanced line. With how popular the Eflex line is I think it would be a TERRIBLE move on CCMs behalf to change up the Eflex though.

Nothing will change without the stamp of Price.  That's his line... With it being the best selling pad at retail I wouldn't anticipate any sweeping changes

  13. I haven't read the whole thread but I would think this lends itself to the overuse of RVH.  If this was the older days you would be on your feet and go post to post covering that upper part of the net.  But because so many guys are down so quick, this keeps happening.

And until someone consistently stops it guys will keep trying it.  I do wanna see the day a guy tries and gets blown up by a d-man
