I like the colour scheme -bigly! But I’m curious (and apologies if you posted elsewhere and I missed it), but what jersey will you typically be wearing with this set?

I play in an over 30 Roller Draft League and an Roller Platinum Draft league as well so the jersey colors change every 10-12 weeks

Thanks for posting the shot of your bungee ties Cal.  That's pretty close to how I'd pictured using them, although I may add a small block of foam to alleviate wear down there.  Nice set by the way.  I went retro brown on my last set and liked how they looked.

I will get more glove pics up shortly after I get home and some side by side shots with the GT2 set.  If there is anything else you guys want just let me know!

Thats a good idea with the foam, when you have it set up send me a picture!

Won't say 100% that this is his set, but I'm about 99.9% sure.

Below is my set, this was the original of the 'iceberg' graphic which has been replicated many times @Peter36

It's definitely not a common color for Warrior custom gear. And I think most guys stick with retro tan. I do think if you do the right accent colors you could have a pretty good-looking set. An example of that would beScreenshot_20190519-123105.thumb.png.3f066e0e093a4b5d32543a8c1d12acf1.png

Bottom one was my old G3 set! I currently use the G4s and have the Tan/White 'iceberg' graphic.

I agree with the more Chocolate VS Brown. Thats what I was hoping for with the G3 set. However the Brown as a nylon is a nice option if you don't want to do the black or white nylon

Monsters products are innovative and game changing, and there are people that swear by them and I personally do like their products. As someone who has had family members serve in the military I root for Jeff and his company.

The second time I ordered from them I ordered 2 Hal straps, shoulder harness and pro bridge kit, order placed on 4/15/17 with a confirmation email.

On 4/22 I had reached out to a rep asking for an update and was told he doesn’t have access to any shipping info (understandable) but I should give it a few days and email. He explained that I they had just hired a new person who was learning their system(understandable). I gave it a few more days and then emailed on 5/1 asking for any update and explaining that this was now the second time in dealing with monster that I had a negative experience with either no communication or communication of me having to follow up. I wasn’t belligerent in my email.

Based on my first experience of having to follow up after I paid for the products the first time I figured it was par for the course. However based on the interaction below I felt differently at the end.

I finally received a response on 5/1 (Monday) and was told the shoulder harness was a custom item and it would take 2 weeks for completion but (miraculously!) they would be shipped out that day.

I had to email again on 5/5 (Friday) asking for a tracking number for the order that I was told would go out on Monday. I received this response.

“Your items are shipping today. Just waiting on the black Hal which are arriving today before I take this to the post office at 430. I do apologize that this didn’t ship Monday. Jeff was unable to sew due to a foot injury.” There was a picture attached with the bags all ready to be shipped out. To me that’s a legit reason however it left me wondering with the questions I have below.

There were a few emails sent back and forth about confirming my shipping address if it was an apartment or suite and finally a tracking number on 5/5

Did the items not ship on Monday 5/1 because they couldn’t be sewn or did they not ship on 5/1 because they were waiting for the black Hal’s? If they were going to infact ship on Monday wouldn’t the address confirmation about the apartment or suite be brought up then?

I don’t expect any specific answers to those questions however in my judgement I feel deceived by the answers as to why they products weren’t shipped. I also wonder as to why after getting the money for the items the only communication seems to be when customers reach out to them. It’s tough for customers to feel valued when the only communication is one way.

Let me also add this, I was thinking of ordering the knee blocks, however after hearing they had issues with foam suppliers, or address issues I was still willing to give them a shot with what I thought were non custom items. Then place the order for the knee blocks. I passed.

  6. I can second this as well. I have two experiences with monster

    First time

5/7/16 order placed for monster Hal kit along with discussion about Ryno kit

5/14/16 payment received and was told production would start the following week

6/28/16 followed up asking what was going on with them, stated I wasn’t in a rush and asked about purchasing the Ryno kit. I was told I would have an answer soon.

7/24/16 asked for another update and was told it was still in production and I would have the tracking as soon as it shipped.

8/29/16 asked for a cancellation of the order and received it.

8/30/16 was contacted and told that the rep didn’t complete the order on the monster side BUT the rep was authorized to offer 15% off if I gave them a second chance

Hey,so I’m in a medium ccm premier pants right now, they fit great,my waist is a 32,so with there chart on goalie monkey it says I should be in a fit 1,how do your fit 2 fit?

I was wearing a large in 1s I probably could have gotten away with a fit3 but the fit2 feels way better

I agree... just playing devil's advocate. My only contention would be that bespoke works best (or is "better") when you know how you play and build equipment to compliment that instead of building it for how you'd like to play. Custom pieces are one thing... I have a custom CCM/Koho set but modded the leg pads for a better fit. I would expect a different level of service from a bespoke manufacturer, someone who works with the client to go over every aspect of features and options to build what should work for them. I've never been concerned with warranty, but I do understand that for some that is an enormous piece of the equation.

Having said all that, my Premier C/A is showing some wear and I'll be anxious to work with Passau on a bespoke piece for myself and how I play.

We really do think alike, I have/had a Passau and am currently wearing the new premier unit

@CalValce you're like my doppelganger. While I went with Retro Flexes on my legs, the entire reason I did the Koho glove was for the 580 break (only offered under either Koho or Reebok branding at the time.) Great work on the reskin. Hell I even have the Premier chesty too (Blue however.) Do you also enjoy tinkering on cars and math??? Even if you don't... you've got style...

    Great minds... :chug:

@BadAngle41 haha might be brother from another’s mother, I appreciate it bud and right back at ya!

  10. I take the attachment part of the monster harness and slip it through the fixed stitch of the open area and the elastic connecting the belly to the rib padding and attach the Velcro of the monster suspender through the harness poking through the C/A slit.

I barely adjust the belt. Since I made the move from tucking with my old 1s pants/Chestys to using this set up with the 1s and CCM chest and now the 13a pants and CCM chesty I find zero restriction/coverage/confidence issues

    Looks sharp!

Thanks @bunnyman666. Very pleased with both purchases. While there’s a lot of ‘noise’ about better/lighter/quicker in the industry the pants have made me more comfortable and I find the 580 a bit more at home than the 590 style which I used for years prior and the 600 which I couldn’t get comfortable with.

That's everything I'm hoping for @CalValce. I'll still need to get my leg pads shaved down some this spring (getting unwanted interference when in VH/RVH) but I know GSparks was an immediate advocate for the slimmed down pant for those same reasons.

I’m wearing a 32+2 in the EF3, I was thinking that for my next pair depending on the model (warrior g4 or prem2) fooling around with the thigh rise and adding a +.5 or an additional inch, but the fit/streamlineness (if it’s even a word) of the pants allows me to squeeze the legs/knees closer and gives me a wider flare (thanks to Maria Mountain) eliminating that little sliver of day light at the top of the thigh rise.

I had my 5th skate in them last night and one of my goalie buddies at a prior skate said I ‘look more fluid and smoother’

I always thought pants were pants but I’m a really big fan!

  13. I picked up a pair in Hershey fit 2 I have all Tan EF3 set up. They go very well together!

Coming from a pair of Michigan 1s (Nike branded) Large the fit 2 is spot on, I no longer tuck and find no hindered movement.

Butterfly is tighter and I feel like I have better 5 hole closure, moving into and out of post intergrations

@CalValce - what is the benefit to the Monster suspenders? I know they un attach in the front? What is the benefit of that over just throwing them over your shoulder?

I don't have to unbutton and re-button the front two button attachment points every time. I also am able to run the suspenders under the floaters as opposed to over the floaters and hope they don't either fall off the floater, or rest on the neck and irritate it during play. I didn't wear suspenders for those reasons for years, I figured I would try it. I tried it and liked it and have evolved from a dyed in the wool tuck guy to un-tuck.

I also just picked up a pair of new NHL spec CCM pants, and I had my concerns with being able to tuck or not, before I made the decision to get the pants I experimented with my original post and liked it.

I'm not trying to push anyone towards or away from Monster, just throwing my 2 cents in there.

To be honest, I think the monster ones are just over hyped, over complicated, and over priced?I mean they’re flippin suspenders....

I agree with the issues with some of the Monster gear and those have been discussed at length on several outlets, however I find their suspenders very useful. If your CA or if you MOD your CA to have the two slits between the bottom abdominal pad and the chest pad IE CCM Premier you can get the suspender attachments in the slit then attach the suspenders. Its similar to the fit-clip system reebok/ccm has offered. It gives the best of both worlds of keeping the pants up/CA down, but not having to undo/redo the suspenders onto the front area.

I use to be a tuck guy, however with the monster suspenders I was able to un-tuck, I feel looser and I feel more comfortable rotating/unlocking arms and chest in post save tracking
