I just haven't really been drinking much.  When I do, my brother in law got me hooked on mixing red wine with Dr Pepper.  Sounds weird, I know, but try it.  Delicious and it hits quick lol.

What a fall from grace, eh?

It’s terrible… buddy at work and fellow Habs fan was saying that we (the Habs) wasted a generational goaltending talent. I’m inclined to agree. I mean, imagine if he had spent his career in Tampa or something. Ugh.

As a matter of fact I am at work.  I haven't had a beer in mooooooonths.  Wanna hear some real torture?  My best friend was up in Massachusetts over the weekend, took his family to Great Wolf Lodge or whichever one of those family fun resorts they went to.  Calahari?  Idk.  Anyway, while they were up there he went to one of the Treehouse Breweries.  I had him buy me a mixed 24 pack.  I gave them all to my buddy down the block that always hooks me up with Tree House.  He's gotten me so much, I had to pay him back while I could.

Fawk, dude! I remember a while back you saying about preferred mixed drinks or something (Moscow mules was it…?) So are the suds just not agreeing with you anymore? Health concerns? Just don’t enjoy it…?

Anyway, now that buddy down the street from you has been repaid, send all the rest up to me!

  4. Last game of the miserable 2021-2022 season tonight, and the surprise announcement is that Price will start.

I think this might be his last NHL game. Maybe just his last game in Montreal… either way, what’s the point? He NEVER scores enough goals for us anyway.

For the longest time my team was built with 1 actual dman.  Always had forwards "playing D."  I finally got some stout dmen to join the team and I ended up leaving for my other team.  🤷‍♂️

Weird; on my team, they have fights about who “has to play up” when we have too many D.

Average age is approximately 56, so that might have something to do with it.

Haha I hated the Gloucester Cougars growing up playing for West Island, they were my nemesis! And now my kid plays for the Dukes so the rivalry lives on.

Congrats man, hope to see you out there one day.

I just grew up in the West Island; never got to play organized hockey as a kid, so I hated all the kids who played! Lol! Now my kids both play… which I don’t hate them for. There’s other stuff that makes it easy to hate them! Lol!

How did your kid’s team do? My son’s team lost a 2-1 heartbreaker in the semis. Kids were crying in the room after… it was one of the hardest hockey moments I’ve ever experienced. They don’t warn you about that when in September, you say “sure, I’ll be head coach this year!”

I'd just huck the thing into the garbage if a cat peed on my gear.

That's a smell that's not only dreadful, but almost impossible to remove.

Yes, I’d throw the cat out too for that.

True fact: cat piss on gear pretty much needs a priest to do an exorcism. Our neighbourhood’s street hockey goalie gear got pissed on by my buddy’s cat, and the smell was so bad, my mom forbid me from playing with that gear.

  8. It took a long time. So long, I wondered if it would ever even happen. But finally, last night, I got my first career shut out. And it was in a playoff game too, and in front of my wife and kids who came to cheer me on - and even made signs. I ended up with the game puck, as the ref wanted the kids to have it (but they were told by Mommy that they should give it to daddy to keep!) My wife also got a great shot of me at the end, under the scoreboard after the final whistle.

I’ve had games where I know I’ve played better, and made more and better saves, but I’ll still take it!

Fuck, it feels good to finally pop that cherry!

Here are some shots of me in goal helping out my temmates who coach a local 8u team. They had a coaches vs. kids game and chose me for their goalie.  Amazingly fun time.  It was interesting trying to balance saves and goals.  I didn't let them score for a while because I figured I had to establish my credibility first before letting them destroy it, haha.  Good times.

That’s great stuff buddy! Looks like a ton of fun. Do you usually play a that deep - or was that to manage the saves/goals…? Lol!

I’ve been mulling over doing a players-parents/siblings game with my son’s U11 team (lots of $$ due to tournaments being canceled, so we’ll be renting ice instead). I’m really on the fence about whether I go in as goalie or not. Maybe it doesn’t matter, but as Head coach I’m concerned that I need to be the referee more than a player…?
Did you find that the kids enjoyed shooting against an adult goalie? If they seemed to love it, that would sway me I think. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated !

  10. I had been meaning to ask here anyway, so I’ll put it in this thread in the hopes that a) Someone has tried these, and; B) they could be an affordable alternative.

So - HAS anyone tried these…? The pricing is competitive, and there seems to be more options than the Canadian Tire/Sportcheck entry level. Note: this is not the Christian USA of yesteryear, makers of the Christian Curve; this is a Canadian company owned by the guy who now owns The Hockey News.

I haven't had a beer in months it feels like.  I've been into these mixed drinks in a can by this company called Cutwater.  I've been really into their Moscow Mule of late.  Fucking delicious.

Moscow mule? You fucking commie! Why do you hate freedom? Lol!
