That's why my kids are going to play soccer and not hockey.
…did you already know when you posted this about your “hypothetical kids”…?
Congrats Coop! That is awesome news, and really brightens the day!

Well let’s be honest here about what we have seen: a bunch of players sweating, breathing heavily, and spitting (like, all the time)… add to that all the coaches and staff half-assing the mask wearing, and fans likewise with concessions open for them to eat and drink (cus you can’t sit for 2 hours without cramming stuff into your cake hole). THEN imagine the behaviour and all the stuff we HAVEN’T seen. So yeah, here we are… this is not the COVID of 2020-21, so what worked for bubbles and such last go around just aren’t good enough now with Omicron, I guess.
It does indeed suck, as @Fullright says, for the players and families for whom this was maybe their “one chance”. It also sucks because it was really a bright spot at our house, watching Team Canada as a family. Maybe they canceled because the other teams were afraid of us…?

I still don't like the idea of not allowing players to do anything with the puck if they lift it off the ice. Require them to be stationary, sure. Automatically disallow any goals if they contact the goalie's head with their stick while attempting a Michigan, definitely. But disallowing stuff like the Zegras pass? No sir. That was electric, an amazing play, and if guys can pull that off they fuckin' deserve to.
To me, this begins and ends as a goaltender safety issue. If guys keep trying the Michigan then someone, probably a goalie, is going to get a stick in the eye. Not allowing guys to skate with the puck in the air on their stick, and disincentivizing trying to tuck it top corner past the goalie's head, would solve that.
Not to get into the whole debate here, but I don’t think the league will side with goalies on eye safety if they are using non-certified cat eye grills… but that’s only 2-3 of them, right…?

I had the opportunity to play at the Bell Center with the staff team 2 yrs ago and it was a wonderful experience. As I was saying in my first presentation post, I used to be a professional photographer for the Montreal Canadiens and Laval Rockets, and on that day, I asked my friend JP which who I was working with, to come and shoot some photos of me in action.
If you are around the Montreal area and would like professional photos of you in action, that's something I can easily do for you if you are interested. Just let me know and I'll show up at your game.
Here, below are some of my best shots : enjoy !
Huge thanks to my friend JP for the shots.Amazing that you got to play at the Bell centre! Now if only we could get the actual Canadiens to play there…

Hey guys ! New goalie here joining the tendy community. I was looking for some information about prolaces which brings me on this forum. While reading different threads, I saw that there was a bunch of crazy goalies like me chatting about everything, so I said, why now subscribing ? So here I am
I'm based on the south shore of Montréal, Québec. I'm a professional sport photographer shooting mainly on racetracks (superbikes, supermoto, VTT, cars) and also Ice Hockey. I've been shooting for the Montreal Canadiens and Laval Rockets in 2018-2019 and 2020 before covid strikes and also for LHJAAAQ for "Les Forts de Chambly" before the team gets dismantled.
I've been playing hockey since I am 4yrs old. Started as a forward until my second "Atome" year, then switched as a goalie and never looked back. I've been playing most of my minor hockey years in double letter caliber then went to college and started working.I never stopped playing in different leagues and I've always been looking to play an higher caliber every year. This year at 38yrs old, I've played the highest caliber of my career this summer with guys drafted in Sweden, other ones from France in Magnus League and another guy who played 17 games with the Washington Capitals. These guys were on my team, so you imagine the rest of the league... Been destroyed by 5 or 6 goals a game for the first 4 games then got used to the pace and won the rest of the games of the season. I was really proud of me and every game was a good challenge for me.
Looking to find more infos on masks (and cateyes) and chesties as I am looking to change mines after a few years of abuse in the nets. Just ordered my prolaces yesterday and looking forward to see if it's a life changer as many of you here have stated in that prolace thread. As you can see, there is a lot of subjects I'd like to talk here with you guys.
So looks like there is a trend of talking about our setup, here's mine :
Helmet : ITECH NV-7 Pro Fit 2
Chesty : Vaughn Ventus Pro
Pants : CCM Premier Pro
Pads : CCM Premier Custom Pro 33 + 2.5
Glove : CCM Premier Custom Pro, Game Ready, 590 angle.
Skates : Bauer 2X Pro with LS5 Carbon blades.I’m also from Montreal! Une tête carrée de l’ouest de l’ile… la rive sud, toi? What part?
Also… tough year to be a Habs fan, eh?

I see you're ready to instill the lesson of gear style.
Frankly, it's the most important part of being a goalie.
When you’re right, you’re right!
She’s pretty image conscious, so it’s an easy sell for the gear matching and style.

At the insistence of my wife, who did not want to deal with the chaos of club gear being passed around with little or no organization, we fully kitted out my daughter. I also picked up the. Netzero2 blue jenpro accents to go with her jerseys. Prettaaaaaay, prettaaaaaaay good.
Not intentional, but also got her the same chestie as I have! Lol!

I'm really getting the itch for new gear.
Fucking do it already, man! You deserve it.
so now that we’ve peer pressured you into this, are you sticking with Vaughn, coming over to the Brian’s cool kids, or are you gonna roll the dice on that shitty start up that Coop endorses…?- 1

First 3 or so minutes of this video. Look how simple and easy and boring this looks....but watch the goalies overall body/limbs vs watch his head/eyes.
Crazy - I just did this exact drill in my goalie lessons last night! I’m not as good as this goalie - lol!

TRUE's/Lefebvre's presence in the NHL alone will carry them immensely far with the average consumer. Seeing a large portion of the Pro's in their gear is such a massive boost to their desirability.
Just look at how often you see people being dismissive of Warrior pads solely due to them not being in the show.
Sorry to be the one to tell you Coop, but people being dismissive of Warrior is because YOU wear it!

I have 2 goalie daughters, one in U13, one in U18. It's been a lot of fun...and stress! We won't even talk about the financial side- they are too far apart in age and size to keep a lot of hand-me-down, and kid 2 has been blowing past the sizing of stuff I try to hold anyway.
Have fun, I hope she keeps it up!
Fantastic! They look to be Warrior fans… is that what you wear?
After my son tried goalie, and decided to stay a skater, I’d say “he’s smarter than his old man”. Now that my daughter seems keen to join the union, I’ll have to change my narrative (although she too is smarter than the old man - lol) -

So my daughter is on a “competitive” team… so competitive that the cost doubled. Nice uniforms, extra ice times, fancy coaches and drills… but with that, is goalering still an after thought? Yup.
Anyway, my daughter volunteered for an exhibition game tonight. I didn’t get a chance to teach her anything, and she never got to practice. Also, I had to get my daughter AND the other goalie all kitted out in the “club’s gear,” including and improvised toe tie repair - because with all the dads in the room who played such and such for so and so years, they know fuck all about goalies. Anyhoo, she enjoyed it, and said she wants to do it again. We’ll see. We’d have a lot to work on. And a trip to the LHS to get her gear game up to snuff. But I love the pictures!Well, this happened this morning:

I wish I had the same knack for typing out Scottish vernacular.
Ach, dinnae fash yerself o’er it!
I read a lot of Scottish comic books growing up. I’m sure if I used some of this in Glasgow, I’d get a side ways look, and a “get tae fook, ye doss coont” . Then probably beat up. Maybe robbed if I splurge for the full Glaswegian welcome package

Too fucking right, bro; I’m already trying to figure out a way to have the dog “accidentally get loose and run away” when I walk him. Two kids (no pets) was bliss… lol!
