  1. Also, completely inspired by this project, @seagoal, I set up a few pucks of my own in the furnace room where my gear lives when I’m not wearing  it.

    From L to R:

    first shutout

    2nd shutout

A Habs puck my Dad got signed by someone when I was younger

    Seattle puck from Seattle @seagoal!

Now-defunct Gloucester Cougars, the club my son played for (and I coached) from about 2019-2023

Canada pucks I ended up with during half-ice practices

Some sort of Officla NHL puck I got as a kid, but don’t remember the story behind it.

    Aww man, that's great.

This was not something I was aware of as an American.  I love mine even more now.

@coopaloop1234beat me to it, but I was going to say: if all you wanted was a Crappy Tire puck, you could have had it MONTHS ago. My “Coach” bucket o’ pucks is full of them!

My ass is jealous of all the shit that comes out of my mouth.

Better see a doctor or a shrink or something; I think you have a shitting disorder. Or maybe an eating disorder. Or maybe both.

  4. Update on this thread!

Had to buy new skates for my son (he’s outgrown - and beat the shit out of - the ones pictured above. Was interested in seeing if there were some stock Trues he could try that made sense, and found a nearby LHS that had TF7s for 40% off - which is a fantastic deal! He tried them, and loved them, so we bought them. He’ll be at a Habs camp next week ( https://www.nhl.com/canadiens/community/hockey-school) where he’ll get to try them out.

I’ve started to play out a bit, and will be coaching my son again. It got me to thinking, maybe NOW is the time for me to finally replace the 2005 Pro Tacks. Went this morning, and came back with a pair of my own! The ones in my size didn’t have the runners in them, so they had to take black onyx ones from a pair of TF9s, which is a sweet bonus!

I was selected for my adult league all star game this year. Not too shabby considering I was retired since before covid until this past January. Add in that most guys are late 20s-mid 30s and my 46 year old ass is doing ok.

One set of gear which I have had for 8-10 years.

    One wife, 51 years.

I’m on my second set of gear. I’m also on my second wedding band - but still on my first marriage. 15 years married come October (22 years together).

when I grow up, I wanna be like @Wonder35

Don't develop too hard of a man crush. You'll push him away.

Why do you think @SaveByRichter35 isn't active anymore? He couldn't handle my admiration.

Naw - he just isn’t active HERE. It was his idea to cut you out of our love triangle. Just couldn’t handle the tension and emotions and all the rest.

Im fine to continue our little thing on the side here though, @coopaloop1234

I can neither confirm nor deny that at this time.

I can confirm that I have the Sens puck - but I deny having mailed it out yet. Mea culpa 😞

Funny thing is i haven’t gone to a post office in >15 years, and I’m going to have to look up where they’re hidden!

He'd be the only one dumb enough to live in Ottawa*

*note, I have not been to Ottawa, I'm sure it's nice, I just want to make fun of Lucky.

Well, you know what they say about Ottawa:

nothing, actually. Nobody talks about Ottawa.

Joking aside, I followed a girl here and that has worked out astonishingly well for me, so imma stay right here.

  9. Through a series of coincidences, I had the opportunity - and privilege - to meet one of our members in person last week! Strangely, we were both playing out as skaters though - lol!

My buddy told me about a pickup game he was going to join, having not played in full gear for a good 20 years. When he showed me the lineups in BenchApp, I saw what looked like @johncho’s name, so I messaged him to see if it was him. It was - and what’s more, he invited me to join them as a skater. I accepted, then went directly to PIAS to get gear, since I have NEVER suited up as a player. Was completely gassed, but had a blast - and a nice West Island connection between me, my buddy, and John! A great member on the forum, John is even nicer in person. Thrilled to have had the chance to connect!

Will do! Trust me I'm plenty honored to have even made this team after a mediocre 2 years in juniors and only 2 seasons of select hockey to my name

Just caught this - amazing! So happy and excited for you, brother! What an opportunity! I hope you have a blast!

Coop, your stick is a wonderful shade of blue. It's time you matched it with BLUE gear. You know, Leafs Blue.

Up 3-1 in the first round… what could possibly go wrong?

You look like you just got the "recently enlisted" haircut,

    Well, let’s see here:

    - I was in uniform

    - everyone had helmets

    - people in different uniforms were shooting at me

    - people on either side got tanked after

So yeah, I went to war - with an appropriate haircut. And a war correspondent to photograph the carnage - LOL!
