Really liking what Mrazek did with these colors. Lots of VE8s on the ice last night and tonight. There's two games on now with full Vaughn vs Vaughn with mitts and pads, and quite a few other full Vaughn goalies in action now, as well. I'm looking forward to seeing gear representation percentages this season. From what I can see, lots of magnet straps on VE8 pads, which for some reason, surprises me. Mrazek is not using those, though. He has very B? looking velcro straps. Can't find a pic just yet.
  2. Right on. Your jersey is awesome. My question was for the fella who posted the flashy Brians set, but glad you elaborated on yours.
  3. You Sir, look amazing. Good on you for playing and rocking that gear. Much, much respect. You should get SAGE on the chin of your mask.

The 2200 is the pro north America version and the 1100 is the senior off-shore version. I own two 2200s, one is brand new as of last week. It replaced the 5500 as my favorite glove ever.

I hope those Warrior pads you have came with a cigar and some scotch. Those things are sick.

@Doobiesnax What are you using now? Are they trashed?

Ha, yeah. I think I'm more excited about your gloves than I've ever been for anyone other then myself.

Wow, beautiful set and great use of color zones on these. From Vaughn Twitter

Ah, yes. Sticks. Fair point. And good catch. I currently own two CR1s, ha. Almost all all-Vaughn goalies in the NHL use Warrior sticks, it seems.

Still, based on visible pieces of gear, Vaughn is far, far ahead. If their lead was huge to begin with, losing a few here and there is nothing. ............. I grant you Warrior is more innovative and sexier looking and game chsnging, but based on visible pieces of gear in visible leagues, that just doesn't add up. Based on what are they doing just fine?

I'd love to see a graph of inbound custom orders over the year, split into categories for pro, juniors, college, and grunts like us. Then, knowing volume of orders for each company, we could more accurately judge their efficiency. Of course, we would have to have data on staff numbers and output capabilities. Short of having that, on a cursory level, business is booming at Vaughn and I imagine CCM and Bauer, too. Over the summer , my retailer told me Bauer completely stopped taking custom orders for a while. Inversely, everyone says how great it is to be able to get Warrior or Brian's so quick. But, a quick peak at the NHL or CHL...... The story tells itself.

I think pro means rush, automatically. Same for juniors and college. Those guys are how companies advertise.

Fair enough. Your point about number of steps is well taken. I wonder if number of steps plays into an order's place in line? How awesome would it be to get a well made documentary of a behind the scenes look into the custom order/manufacturing process? I'd just hope Vaughn wouldn't ruin their part with interviews of Mike. Eesh.

Just curious? Why do you think his order was "basic" and why should that make things move quicker? If they're backed up due to volume, business is booming and your place in line is set. I'm not sure a piece of gear' s degree of basic-ness changes things. Really, there can't be that much not-basic stuff. Most custom stuff is simply color changes and maybe some straps or the upcharge for colored VAUGHN logos. I doubt they ever bump stuff based on how basic it is. In the grand scheme of things, there's not much difference structurally to the gear in line for custom manufacturing.

...and you have every right to overrule your retailer and go straight to Vaughn. It is highly likely the glitch you are experiencing is with the retailer, not Vaughn.

I don't think colors determine wait times But, I ordered mine after you and received mine before you, it seems. So something is up with yours. You have every reason to be irritated and get an explanation.

He was told 4 months originally when he ordered them. He continued. His consent was given. There's nothing ridiculous about that. Vaughn is either first or second in how many goalies they outfit from juniors on up (CCM). It is perfectly reasonable to have to wait several months. There is a reason you can get Brian's or Warriors so fast and that's the inverse of above. You're point is well made: you hate Vaughn and the people who work there. We got it
