Last Wednesday skate. The camera decided to hard reset while in the bag, giving us the beautiful timestamp and the 2015 date!
Effectives were very low so we ended up playing 3 on 3, which I don't specifically enjoy, especially when I have a defective D! Backcheck was practically inexistant or inefficient making it impossible to focus on the shot since I always had to account for a pass even when I had someone there. Also, I was off for some reason. Still managed a couple of decent saves in there but they mostly got bury under a hail of goals. If anybody has more experience with 3 on 3, feel free to give me some pointers, they be much appreciated.

Good work Math! It is always nice to come in a sub for a team and pick up the win. It seemed like your teammates really appreciated you effort and big saves.
Thanks. They did appreciated it. So much so, they asked for my number so who knows, might be getting a call to sub for them again. I would love it to be honnest because the caliber was just right for my abilities.

So last friday night I got a sub off of a goalie app with a gang I had never played with. Forgot how great it was to actually play on a team with a ref and back checking Ds! Overall I think I did pretty good, we ended up winning 7-4 out of 24 they directed at me. Number wise, probably one of my best performance ever and LOADS of fun.
Cheers.

I used it once. No problems with the overheating, the face opening is big
Indeed, didn't noticed how big the opening was. Do you have any other mask you could compare it to with a side by side picture?

I like a lot.
2 questions: Does the vinyl covers the whole mask? It looks like it does and meets up in the middle. Does the right side mirrors the left side with the viking head too? What model? looks an NME from what I can tell. Alright that might have been a little more than 2 questions!

Their media release:
"OTNYMASK and SPORTMASK Agree to Merger
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Oakville, Ontario – Officers from leading goalie mask makers, OTNYMask and SPORTMASK officially announce today a merger between the two companies enabling them to better serve the head protection needs of goalies around the world. The merger permits the companies to more effectively utilize their resources, technologies and vast experience to develop and produce the finest head protection available for goalies of all levels from Professionals on through to youth and recreation league goalies.OTNYMask’s Matt Calabro said “I have been friends with Tony for years and have always admired his work. I am excited to join forces with him to produce and design new models using new technologies and new materials.”
The merger also affords the unique position to control almost every component of goalie mask production in house with Canadian made raw materials and Canadian labor. This is applicable to all models under the respective brand names.
The first collaboration will be the use of Innegra. Innegra is the lightest fiber commercially available and is impact resistant, ductile, tough, and dampens vibration. The Sportmask 515i will be the first to utilize this technology, followed by the release of the Sportmask Pro 2i & Pro 3i and the OTNY X2i & X3i in the first quarter of 2019.
SPORTMASK’s Tony Priolo said, “I look forward to working with OTNY. This partnership brings the strengths of these two organizations together to make something special.”
OTNY Masks will continue to be exclusively distributed through GoalieParts.com
Sportmask will continue to be distributed through various retail stores worldwide."
Yeah I read this earlier this week, can't wait to see where it leads. I kind of see this with a good eye, as long as they can take decisions together and really leverage the ressources and knowledge it is likely to lead to even better products for the "two companies".

My purchase today:
2 Sher-wood GS350 (PP41) foam core sticks, 26", regular in white/blue/red (last ones they had in HABS colourway). They were 125$ea but got them at 88$ea. My only gripe is that they are made in China. Will this have an effect on durability? We shall see. I'm saddened to see such an iconic stick brand source itself overseas for production. Stupid part is that I bet they are using Canadian maple they bought from us to then sell back to us
My current Warrior stick is getting beat up and my Sher-wood 530 is near death so I just had to. Won't use them until I've bought my new pads and blocker. Y'a y'a, crazy I know. I just want to feel "clean"
For some reason I've always liked the look of Sher-wood sticks. They indeed look clean with just the right amount of classic in the rendering of the brand name on the paddle.
Very nice purchase sir, especially at that price point.

There was a time between One100 and TotalOne NXG (I think?) where there was no Supreme, it was just Pro, Elite and something else, for C/A, Pants, Skates. I had one of the Pro ultra's from The Goalie Crease, it was a tank but the adjustable arms were a bit annoying.
Basically "TotatlOne" era of Pads, Gloves, Sticks, was the "Pro" era of C/A, Pants, Skates
Something else = Performance

Just got me self a new schtick.
Decided to give a composite a second chance, wasn't too fond of the first one I tried a couple years back but this one felt solid in the hand with a great balance. I shaved off about 2" off the top and outfitted it with a Tack-mac grip (that's also gonna be a first). People who played that stick, what's your take on it?
Thanks.

And now TSN is reporting that the NHL is concerned with the rise in goalie concussions. Interesting topic that needs more attention.
Well, you keep giving them sticks that can chug pucks at mach speed and it's bound to happen. Combine that with the increased rise of awarness and proper concussion detection and follow-up protocole and the numbers are going to look more impressive until we reach the actual "we report one when there is one" plateau.

Out with the old and in with the new.
Thanks to the lovely fiancée chipping in as a bday/Xmas present, I've upgraded from my Bauer C2 lid to the new VTX.
Just need to grab a new cateye (thanks Canada) and I'll be all set. Definitely excited to jump up into the pro level of protection for the old noggin.
Where do you get your cateye up here? I used to get them from the US back when I had a contact there, I don't anymore.

I’ve also done Custom Cages and they are exceptional. I paid $80 for custom art work that they did for me “ Star Wars theme” and it was well worth the price. Over a year later, no peeling. It’s waterproof and does not chip from puck shots or sticks hitting my mask. What’s great is that if it does get damaged or you get bored you just peel off and order a new one.
Pictures?........pleeeease.
I'm looking into ordering one myself.

Thanks everyone. Yeah I don't take the GA too much at heart since I know 3 on 3 usually means way too many options to cover or just way too many space for them to use. I think it does offer proper reaction training as you ALWAYS gotta be ready for anything and especialy cross ice/cross crease plays, so at least you can focus on your post to post desperation saves repertoire!
@Fullright - yeah I noticed looking at the videos since I came back that I tend to stay way deep in the crease. That's something I've addressed since and you'll see me going out and challenging a lot more in the upcoming videos.
@Netnewbie - Thanks for the kind word. As long as you enjoy them I'll keep making them! Cheers.
