That_1_Goalie45
Does anyone know what the difference between the Soft Foam and Recessed Foam knee cradle options is. They have been a part of the CCM customizer for a bit and now the Lefreve/True customizer as well. However, neither one of the companies has posted anything as to what is the difference between each option is, even in the catalogs. (although Lefreve/True hasn't put a catalog out yet). Does anyone know the difference between the two? Also, the picture is one of the CCM customizer, but the True customizer uses the same names (dont know if they are the same or differentiate in actual construction though)
ZeroGravitas
The catalog picture you attached shows it. It is the foam in the knee that the front of your knee cap would contact. Below is soft foam - see the gray material next to the knee stack, on the reverse side of the pad face? Below is recessed. Notice there is no longer any material there - just the nylon backside of the pad. There is a True custom options catalog out, though I'm not sure if it is meant for public release so I won't post the whole thing. Here's a relevant snippet:
ArdeFIN
It's interesting why would someone want soft foam version as you should never have anything to do with it? Standing up your knee is against but doesn't need it to be super soft. Down on BF your knee is on knee stack and whatever knee pads your are using your would appreciate all the room there is and would be available in the knee cradle... It's a legacy design from Reebok P3/P4(?) times, just like how some guys like leather straps and knee rolls.

I just removed that "soft foam without outer wrap" from my XLT project pads
