    CCM
    Vaughn
    Bauer/True
    Warrior
    Brians.

That's usually the popularity ladder I see at Beer league games. This also differs depending on the divisions I'll play.

Higher divs will see an influx of Bauer and True pads.

Lower divs will see more Vaughn and Warrior.

Oddly enough in the Chicago suburbs it almost seems backwards. I’ve noticed this:

    Brians

    CCM

    Vaughn

    Bauer

Small companies like Factory Mad, etc

    Warrior

    True

I'm curious how many youth goalies even watch the NHL or have an idea who wears what. Current gear is so bland and guys change their gear almost monthly.

Also probably doesn’t help that with social media and such, its now out there that almost no nhl goalies actually wear whatever pad that matches their graphic. Even younger kids are now aware they can’t actually have what their favorite goalie has. Now that said, plenty of people don’t care and just want the same graphic as their idol and so on. For me though, I was never able to have exactly the same gear as any of my idols, whether it was a 580 with Hiller, or Quick’s super soft leg pads. And even now, no Bauer goalies use the newest stuff. We talk all the time about how they all still use ultra sonic gloves and 2s pad flex. Hell, Askarov’s gloves are eflex 4 clones. With it being so difficult to get what nhlers actually have now, I seems super pointless for companies to worry about pushing pros as an advertisement.

I've got a pair of 'M' series sticks I've been holding on to until my current V2 breaks. It's been years and is barely holding on, but I still can't shelve it prematurely.

Glad to hear the durability has gotten better. I remember the v1 pros I had totally shredded at the heel until I started putting electrical tape under the regular tape. Might jump on some Francouz pro returns on Sideline

V series is the stiff stick, M series is the soft one.

He's saying he prefers the soft feel of his eflex sticks over the V series.

Got it. Not a soft flex fan myself.

2 out of 3 of my custom V1's are still useable.  I've just moved to my Eflex 4's as my stick of choice.   Love that softer feel!

The V series is softer flex? Or were you saying that in reference to your eflexs?

  6. Also what do we think about these from LT last year? Kinda follows the all white trend but also doesn’t? As far as guys having difficulty losing rebounds in their gear this seems like a logical solution if you want the solid color look on the front

So THIS 👇 is the real reason I did not make it to the NHL! I know I look on ice bigger in white gear, but I just don´t think I play level of hockey, where it realy matters...or where it matters more than "look good - feel good" 😉. But it makes sense, that in the show you try every advantage...

Coming back to this pic again...see how the split T is anchored dead centre at the break? Is it because it's a 60? If my split T on my GT2 was positioned the same, would it still work with it's 75 break or mess up the closure or balance?

Its really strange because it looks like a stock vapor glove aside from the palm shape and pocket. The cuff and tee looks like Bauer’s 590 (60 degree) but its definitely something they build for Askarov specifically

  9. I think all of this largely stems from the fact that stiff pads aren’t as popular as people think. The ideal goalie for stiff pads are athletic ones ie: Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, etc. you need the hip flexibility and mobility for them. The average consumer especially at the lower price points is rarely in this category. Most of us on here are aware that just about all the nhl supreme user don’t even use the top bauer flex profile because it’s too stiff. Most still use the 2s profile. While pads like Quick’s are still likely a thing of the past, the supreme/axis style pads are not realistic for a cast majority of users. They aren’t optimal for younger goalies learning the position because they need something that works with them and not against them. And again most older guys tend to struggle with them because they can’t seal their 5 hole and so on.

Honestly, whatever model that glove is, it has the perfect shape IMO, at least for me, a nice round shape to vacuum anything coming at you. It looks like a 60 or 75 break.

    I want one😩😩😫

I wonder what Nashville is gonna do with their goalie situation.  Do they move Saros before the trade deadline?  His contract isn't bad at all for his level of play, but if they do is Askarov ready to step in?

They’re going to wait as long as they can. They also don’t have a cup run ready core yet so no point in rushing Askarov to the nhl. My guess is he moves up once Lankinen’s contract ends at the end of the season or maybe its after next

Pretty sure it's just the normal Vapor glove.

Pocket and tee angles look different. Like others said, probably a lefevre clone

  13. Guess Bauer wants Askarov as the future of the Vapor line? He’s almost exclusively used Supreme graphics since his VHL days. Also that glove looks different from the normal vapor glove, but definitely not a 90. Curious what it may be or perhaps I’m just crazy.

By this point we should have at the very least seen it debut back in September. That's roughly when Vasilevsky first had the Hyperlite 2 graphic.

I guess maybe a change in mentality like @RedX said. Sorokin had them for a hot minute at the beginning of the year and they disappeared for his yearlong used practice pad look. They also kept them branded as Machs.

I'm still confused why we have seen nothing on the Bauer Shadow line.

    It's very strange

I feel like by now there's usually pros using the graphic since it will be coming out end of spring/early summer. Maybe Oettinger will use the graphics when he gets off ir
