I also think the HZRDUS graphic has a ton that can be done with it. Tired of seeing people same the same talking points about it repeatedly, it's rather modular.

Don't try to stifle my shit talk.

The Catalyst 7X3 INT has the 615 blocker sidewall.

    20231231_160830.thumb.jpg.f4cb8ef426f8ec4565c611ce4b5adf9f.jpg

But the sidewall looks a little different from the custom catalog. The 7X3 615-INT doesn't have a gap between the front board and sidewall. But according to the catalog, it seems to have the same dip as 595 and 595 with binding. Plus the shape of the sidewall is different at the top of the blocker.

    So who knows?!?

    Yas.

Is the sidewall shape in the side by side there possibly determined by the finger protection style? I thought that was the case for True gear.

  3. Always appreciate Lefebrve catalogues. They generally do a great job at showing off their options and how they differ. Except what's different with the 615 Hazardous blocker. As far as I can tell, it's just a slight revision of the side board.

Looks like the Hazardous is a 20.2 with a Catalyst thigh rise. That's pretty much what we all expected right?

Too bad the graphic is fucking awful.

I never noticed stabilislide getting in the way either until I was going back and forth between it and Warrior's knee block. Stabilislide felt a little clunky to me after using a softer knee block for awhile

I'd have to try another pad and see how it would compare.

You know what felt clunky to me? The integrated calf portion of the Mach. If I was to get a new set, it would include the removal of the calf bracket.

Which sucks, because you have to pay extra to have less.

You're not wrong.  Plus, if you're really a whore you can pay for Digi-Print and the world is your oyster.

Pretty sure it's by design. Provide a basic enough graphic that looks fine to push the likelyhood people want something more elaborate or personalized.

I'd forgotten that pic, thanks.   So, not quite as much to work with as I'd hoped, but still strong possibilities.

It's not like the Supreme line has had a strong variety in colour options. Shadow is up there for more available.

Dude's like what the hell is this thing on my hand that actually closes?

Ever try to find a picture of him actually closing his glove?

There's more pictures of him looking sad.

Between the rebounds and the look, I almost went with the Machs except the strapping just felt weird to me..

Shadow looks good but dammit, I like the Mach name better.

I think the name and graphic on the Mach are better too.

FYI, the new Supreme and Vapour lines use identical attachment points for the leg strapping and are made to be interchangeable.

So the Tune Fit+ and Tune Fit 2.0 can work with either line. The blend between both lines mostly comes down to small details at this point/

Good eye. 6 main zones, plus others (logos, welting, knee/calf, etc).

For a while I wasn't sure if the boot outer roll was going to be linked to the vertical line, but Lundy's set confirms they're different.

Thej graphic looks like it could be the best Bauer stock graphic in a minute too.   Depending on if you can make any changes to that big white zone in the lower middle.

Here's a better view of all the colour zones.

Looks like there's 5 different colour zones plus the thin vertical line.

Completely agree. It looked awful in the catalog and doesn't seem to bad here. I've never been hit on the fingers with a Bauer blocker either so I don't understand the change. It is very similar to how warriors sidewall is though so guess I can't complain

    Pretty close, you're right.

I want to get my filthy mitts on these to see them in person.

Both came from Lundqvist's instagram. If you look closely you can see the tune fit plus strap overlapped by the knee strap at the calf

That's what I thought it was. It's probably a standard stock set due to the gloves being not modified to shit.

aka: an actual side wall on the blocker and not a two piece cuff on the glove.

Speaking of the blocker, looks fine and nowhere near as bad as the catalogue made it seem. Saying that, still looks like it would be a bit cumbersome.

I like the more flexible nature of the older Supreme styled finger protection. Feels like a nice middle ground between coverage and usage.

I haven't had any issues with the finger protection either, I'm still surprised it's been changed.

Lundqvist debuting the shadow line. Don't hate the blocker as much as I thought I would and the strapping looks relatively unchanged from HL2. Graphic is pretty solid too. Oettinger will be switching to shadow soon too according to Lundqvist, likely for the all star games.

Where are these pictures from? Any actual better pictures of his strapping set up?

It kind of looks like the old CRS set up he's always used.

Not necessarily defending Warrior, but we are proudly wearing brightly colored, stupid expensive foam and arguing about which expensive foam looks best... so what does that say about all of us I wonder...

I still can't get past the "douche-font" that Warrior used to use to appeal to the MMA/UFC Crowd, making sure they got every goalie who had a barb-wire tattoo around their bicep.

    Yeah, I judge too.

You can just say you don't have any Swagger.

Yea, that was fucking awful. Without Pete Smith joining on, I guarantee Warrior would have exited the goalie market ages ago.

. Some goalie coaches insist that the outer roll be white no matter what. I believe that’s a Vancouver thing.

Ian Clarke the goalie coach is a bit notorious for his steadfast stance on mostly white pads.

Except DeSmith gets a pass for some reason. Guess he's lightened up and is only adamant about all white on starter's pads.

So THIS 👇 is the real reason I did not make it to the NHL! I know I look on ice bigger in white gear, but I just don´t think I play level of hockey, where it realy matters...or where it matters more than "look good - feel good" 😉. But it makes sense, that in the show you try every advantage...

See, you don't have an all white problem, you have a Hiller problem. :P

I mostly agree, though I do think the True knee block is sufficiently stiff. Personally I like the "Stabiliflex" style, even if I prefer a rather stiff pad, because when you lean I like it to move a little bit instead of fight and you never want to build a bridge too rigid.

I've never used a Stabiliflex, just Stabilislide. I always have been curious if it's better for me or not.

I do really like my Stabilislide as it is though and have never felt it getting in the way.

He tried out a full set of Bauer's before the season started. Guess they weren't what he wanted yet since he switched back.

I'm waiting for him to go full Tim Thomas and a mish-mash of brands. Course I guess these days they'd just reskin the gear.

He also was in all True to start the season too.

One by one he's falling to the Bauer Gods

I fully support all biases based on personal preference and the urge to judge others who think differently than me.

However, I ALSO support the right of anyone (me) to immediately reverse my opinions should I ever decide to switch brands so I can justify the stupid amount of money I've just spent on something I didn't even remotely need. This is the way.

    Amen brother.

Interestingly I've always had the opposite experience with whistles as far as dark equipment goes. More often than not I got a slower whistle because the official wasn't sure it was covered

One thing I did not like when using my all black Mach set was how easily I'd lose pucks in my pads or coming off of my pads. The occasional quick whistle (which wasn't much) did not compensate for my immediate loss of peripheral vision for tracking pucks in and out.

I'm not against using gear with a darker base like my blue RGT2 set was, but I'm starting to lean towards more white based gear solely for puck tracking purposes. (plus puck marks are fucking rad).

Won't go all white because that's boring. But I don't think I'll ever get a predominantly all black set.

My Lefevre experience is pretty limited - owned and loved a Koho 590 years ago, but other than that I only just got into CCM gear this year and recently bought a set of True gloves. My limited experience has only been positive, but I get why it's not everyone's thing. Especially non pro gear like the 2.9's you had...seems like there's a pretty big drop off in their senior/non custom gear, especially their gloves.

The gloves were mostly due to overall design and not quality control. Over the years I've been trying multiple different catchers to see if anything works and I keep falling back to Warrior catchers, time and time again. Shit, I bought an Ultrasonic catcher recently and even before I hit the ice with it I put it up for sale.

I am very much a Warrior catcher only guy. So I can absolutely see how Lefebvre guys are as devoted as they are.

Same mentality I have with Warrior products. I get they're a very divisive product and I don't fault anyone for not liking them.

    I judge them though. :P

Did you have a bad Lefevre experience that scarred you? 😆 (genuinely asking).

My first pads were RBK 6k's and I had a pair of CCM 2.9 gloves a couple years ago I tried for a while.

    Didn't like either one. lol.

Honestly? My 'hate' for them is mostly exaggerated because I find it fun to do so. I do genuinely think their designs aren't great and they are my least favourite, but, I get why people like them. Familiarity is a huge factor.

(plus NHL presence can never be understated)
