  1. So I set my Konekts to the tightest it could go on the ankle but it wasn’t enough. I adjusted the hardware which allows you to tighten the ankle strap more but now the issue is I can’t snap the buckle closed because the extra length on the strap gets in the way. I’ll add a pic to make this make more sense. I was wondering if anyone’s had this issue and if you can cut that length off?
  2. Are those just pro laces that have been taped to add slack?
  3. Its pretty amazing. WHen youre busy and cant get to the rink, You can still face like 1000+ shots in a week which is extremely helpful.
  4. mike smith had a .923 and .915 sv% his last 2 years with us and his goals saved above expected was 6th in the NHL. He was elite for the oilers. His puck playing made the D look better than they were.
  5. Im more of a hockey analyst/goalie supporter than the average fan who just yells stuff at their tv. gets drunk and calls into the radio shows. The decade of darkness was a good way to stop getting so emotionally invested in just a game. I'm still an oilers fan to some extent but i honestly don't really care if we were to blow the team up. Its kind of fun to just interact with the fans who act like this game affects their life.
  6. I’ve just kept adding juggling balls. Currently working on juggling 5. Once you get a pattern, it’s not really doing anything to just keep doing the pattern.
  7. I’m looking to up my game in any way. I’ve started eating better and working out again(took a few years off because I’m undisciplined), stretching before bed, juggling… Right now I’m doing a full body workout with only 2 sets per exercise that I’ll eventually split up into a few different workouts when I feel I’ve plateaued. So far these make me feel really good. Less knee pain and I feel stronger on the ice. im doing upper body: Dips, pull-ups, captains chair ab work, dumbbell press, bent over rows, shoulder press lower body: single leg lunge, side lunge, squat, glute bridges, wall sits, resistance band exercises from a physiotherapist Curious what you are doing for workouts?
  8. Yeah I know brown makes pants that you can add those side ridges to.
  9. I’ve heard of nhl goalies wearing 2 pairs of pants, sewing their pant legs together to create less of a hole between their legs, massive jersey to catch pucks in their armpits, untucked chestie, Garth snows 35+11 goalie pads… what do you do to gain an advantage?
  10. Been seeing that the pants are 11inches wide in each leg and I guess NHL spec is supposed to be 9inch. Is this a thing?
  11. Just curious what you all use? I currently have some warrior ritual X. it seems to be flat faced and about 10-11 inches wide per leg. I believe NHL regulation is now 9 inches wide and i think they have to do barrell shaped vs flat faced but i might be wrong about that. Curious what everyone else is using and which pants are the most illegal? I remember hearing some NHL goalies wearing 2 pair of pants back in the day. pair that fit them and another pair that was just massive. Anyone have any tips for creating max coverage with their pants?
  12. Options seem to be -LS3G vertexx -LS5G vertex carbon Are these options any good?
  13. Bought a pro stock Bauer stick with a trigger grip. Now I cut it into all my sticks. Just trace the pattern and use a little manual saw I got at a hardware store. Everyone needs a trigger grip. I tried a game recently without a trigger grip and I felt lost. It’s so awkward to hold.
  14. Normally I can shake off a bad game but I’m ready to snap right now. up 5-1 going into the third and then the other team scored 8 goals. 7 of them were in the blue paint or right in front of the net and the 8th was a breakaway for a 9-8 regulation loss. I know these fall on my team for being non existent in the defensive end in the third but holy fuck. Pulling the puck out of my net 8 times in one period while 2 guys on the other team celebrate in front of me has me losing it. I snapped one of my sticks on the boards, it’s like 3 hours later and I can’t calm down. So… any tips?
  15. For people who don’t know, I guess he would attach his pants and chest protector from the back. He had a little clip to keep them together. I’ve been wearing my chest protector pretty loose and got hit in the arm trying out the panda. Seems like if I want it to still be loose and actually protect my body, I need the Patrick Roy mod.
  16. Title says it all. Took a hard shot to the clavicle that somehow got under my dangle and want to add a neck guard now. Is there a consensus on the best one out there?
  17. Downside is the heat will increase your heart rate so you'll probably burn out quicker in a game.
  18. It would be nice if there was wrap around shoulder protection. Only stinger i get these days are being hit in the back/side of the should when doing the RVH.
  19. Does Vasi still have those knee flaps on but he doesn't strap the velcro to them?
  20. Also, if anyone has any simple designs they think would look good on black pads, let me know. Don’t want to cover the entire thing in padskinz. Just want to add little red highlights in places.
  21. The green/yellow color doesn’t match my team colors but I’m wondering if it might interfere with the padskin from sticking properly. Has anyone else here done something like this ?
  22. I got to hold Mike Smiths stick and the thing felt like a 70flex player stick. It was like rubber which clearly helps play the puck. no site seems to advertise stick flex though for goalies unless I’m missing it.
  23. Hey fellow goalies. So I’ve always loved the position. Played a lot of ball hockey growing up and only switched to ice about 2.5 years ago. I gave myself a crash course by playing probably 300 games and shinny over the past 2.5 years, learning to juggle, getting sense arena, binging in goal magazine as well as getting a goalie coach. I’ve had people tell me I look like I’ve played my whole life which is nice…but… my mental health is terrible right now. I don’t have confidence, I feel like I’m letting my team down and things seem to be spiraling. I often think about quitting. I’m already signed up for winter season which is like 35 games but my summer season has been bad enough that I don’t want to play winter. playoff are like 2 weeks away and I want to give it my all but idk what to do. I’d hate to make the wrong decision and have to find another team again but i feel burnt out and feel like im wasting my teams time. I’ve taken little breaks since this started about 6 months ago. Took a month off but the passion hasn’t come back. I’ve been having more fun at no pressure shinnys. buying new gear seemed like a good idea and I love the gear but it didn’t help bring the passion back. Maybe im just venting but has anyone else gone through this? Any advice on what I should do? im just a beer league goalie but I find the pressure to be too much right now. It’s not like im playing for a job. There’s no backup ready to take my place. Just feels like too much pressure sometimes being the guy who has to stop the puck since everyone drove to the arena to watch me let in a Couple muffins and lose us the game. thanks for reading if you got this far.
  24. The guy who helped me with the process had them at the same tightness including the top buckles twisted to the same tightness. He just had them really tight. I just think my feet are different.
