  1. You could look into konekts… they accommodate up to EEE but mold to your feet during the fitting process. I have super wide forefeet and they’re the first skates I’ve had in years that haven’t hurt my feet.
  2. I have a EE foot and the konekts fit like a dream. Easily the most comfortable skate I’ve ever worn, and that’s including a pair of custom Trues.
  3. I’d say it’s pretty good. I have a 17.75 ATK and fit well into a 33+1.5 Gnetik V, but those were known to fit large due to the boot bump. They eliminated it in the Iconik. The 33+1.5 Iconik felt a hair small, which fits with their size chart.
  4. Another update after putting a few more skates on the Iconiks for anyone thinking of ordering a set. the leg pads definitely fit smaller than Gnetiks, by about a half inch to a full inch. I was in a 33+1.5 Gnetik V and I’m wearing the same size Iconik and it play’s noticeably smaller.
  5. The sliding is honestly better than any pad I’ve used. It was insane. Actually made it difficult to play with. Maybe it’ll calm down as the pads get used. I really like the knee block. Definitely an improvement on the Gnetik, as is the weight of the pad.
  6. This is a 3rd line of gloves that isn’t replacing anything. The glove is Brian’s 580.
  7. Have had a chance to get a set of Iconiks on the ice a few times, thought I’d give some feedback. pads: similar to Gnetik Vs but noticeably lighter. The sliding on them is insane, probably the best sliding pad I’ve used (compared to V10, V9, SLR3, Optik 3, Gnetik V, PX3). The flex is nice, and the strapping is great and super simple. I removed the professor and boot straps, so all it is is toe ties, one calf wrap strap, and the knee strap. Overall solid improvements on the Gnetik V. glove: very comfortable and light, great closure, but I just can’t get used to the break angle on Brian’s gloves. blocker: also very light and comfortable. Rebounds though we’re not as hot as I’d hoped but not terrible. all in all they made some solid improvements, not really anything bad to say except the sliding was almost too much at times and was hard to control occasionally.
  8. Aww no fun. was there any info about a new catalyst line?
  9. Where did you find the new catalog?!
  10. Nice. in the past 3 years I’ve had custom Gnetik Vs, Hyperlites, PX3s, and now this. Stoked how the set turned out, it’s my first retro brown set.
  11. It’s still being shipped, but I’ve got a close relationship with my dealer who checked out the set for me and said everything was as ordered. Guess I’ll find out in a week or so
  12. Negative, see my other reply but basically asked Vaughn to make an xp70 with as retro look as possible, as I really just wanted the break angle as I’m a 580 user. And this is a V9 glove, Vaughn wasn’t doing custom graphics on the V10 when I ordered it 6 months ago lol.
  13. Thanks! I’ve been a lurker here for a while, finally decided to make an account. Sadly not my first custom set, I’m a bit of a gear whore. First Vaughn custom set since V5s in 2011 though. With the glove, I really only wanted the break angle of the XP70 as I’m a 580 user, but felt like the XP look didn’t mesh as well with the retro look, so asked Vaughn to make an XP70 look as retro as possible and this is what they came up with.
