Where’d you find Cams email? I want to ask him a question

Do you mean FTK? If you’re an 18.5 ATK a 32 or small/X small in Bauer is going to be way too small for you
  3. I know not exactly what you asked but check out PAW… custom made for you, and if you get them with the gel they’re very cushy. Best knee pads I’ve worn, I won’t use anything else.
  4. Have to agree with you. Bauers are by far the tightest bungees, I replaced the ones on my HL2s after one skate cause they were way too short. That being said, there’s still plenty of give that there’s no way it should have caused MCL or ACL injuries.
  5. Having used an Iconik blocker I can say that it is incredibly light. Didn’t weigh it but it was awesome to use.
  6. Just buy the prolaces hybrid. They come with a 2” section of skate lace between the toe attachment and bungie.
  7. True is working on an updated customizer actually. It was supposed to launch with the hzrdus launch, but guess it’s not done yet
  8. That’s quite a difference in curve. Did you actually get your hands on both versions or just pictures? The iconiks I was using were the flex profile, but I’d be interested to know where the big differences in flex are, as I know the stiff profile still has a soft boot. Wonder what the difference is between the Iconik stiff and an optik3 in terms of stiffness.

    Pre-Curved Pads

So you can get the Iconik in a stiff profile which offers a similar Z curve to the optik, but it’s still a softer pad and will have more torsional flex. Also, be aware that most store stock will be in the flex profile, as that’s the stock option and is much softer (still has a decently stiff thigh though) and won’t have as aggressive of a Z curve. You can see comparison pics of the two profiles in the Iconik thread on here. If you go custom, you can get whatever graphic you want on the optiks too.

    Pre-Curved Pads

Sounds like you want a Brians Optik3. Stiff pad with a very aggressive Z curve shape off the shelf.

What’s the +1.5 equivalent to though? Like Brian’s 1.5 is similar to other brands +2. Is warrior the same or is it more of a normal 1.5. And so you’re saying going with a 34 G7 might be too small for me?

How accurate is warriors size chart? Never tried warrior gear before but thinking of giving some G7s a go. Their chart puts me in a 35 based on FTK, feels big considering I wear a 33 in Vaughn and am between a 33 and 34 in true (use 34s just cause I like the way they sit with how I strap them). I do wear a large in Bauer tho. also, how does the warrior thigh rise compare to trues/Vaughn/Brian’s?
  13. Good choice, think you’ll really enjoy these. Trues production times aren’t terrible right now either.
  14. Just overall quality and durability. You’ll be much happier with the domestic product. Hzrdus should be hitting stores relatively soon, so 20.2 will likely drop in price pretty dramatically if that’s the direction you want to go.
  15. Think the boots are pretty similar. The px3 might be a bit flatter but not sure on that
  16. Shorter boot compared to what? It’s got a very flat boot but trues boot length has been pretty consistent across models.
  17. I’ve used both, the PX3s are a much better pad imo. Just feels better on the leg and feels more responsive.
  18. Imo just get a px3. Has one of the stiffest thighs on the market but will still feel familiar to you.
  19. I don’t really know. I think the idea is that the push zone allows for some spring off the post, the lace allows you to lock it in, and the rest of the bungee allows for some ankle flex. But I don’t really think it probably adds that much, especially for an extra 20 bucks lol
  20. The hybrid and push are different. The hybrid is 2” of lace and then bungee (comes stock on true pads). The push is a new system that is a small length of bungee, a large bit of lace, and another small bit of bungee on the Velcro (see pic).
  21. No that’s not how it works with konekts. There’s both an inner liner and an outer shell, both of which are heat moldable. I have EE forefeet but normal mid feet and heels, and the konekts fit my feet perfectly. Almost feels like wearing a sock or slipper. You just have to be fitted correctly when buying them. They can accommodate up to EEE but as narrow as needed because the whole skate molds to your foot during the fitting process.
  22. You could look into konekts… they accommodate up to EEE but mold to your feet during the fitting process. I have super wide forefeet and they’re the first skates I’ve had in years that haven’t hurt my feet.
  23. I have a EE foot and the konekts fit like a dream. Easily the most comfortable skate I’ve ever worn, and that’s including a pair of custom Trues.
  24. I’d say it’s pretty good. I have a 17.75 ATK and fit well into a 33+1.5 Gnetik V, but those were known to fit large due to the boot bump. They eliminated it in the Iconik. The 33+1.5 Iconik felt a hair small, which fits with their size chart.
  25. Another update after putting a few more skates on the Iconiks for anyone thinking of ordering a set. the leg pads definitely fit smaller than Gnetiks, by about a half inch to a full inch. I was in a 33+1.5 Gnetik V and I’m wearing the same size Iconik and it play’s noticeably smaller.
