  1. Gonna 1-up you here https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BNQ155KX?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Stretchy lace that you should be able to get in a color to match your pants.
  2. Vasi in an AB21 Blackwood's stall, look at those biceps on the Vaughn C/A
  3. This answer is different for regular and FR goalies...
  4. I really don't know what's up with the wrap guys. SkinFX took forever too, you'd think he was drawing it himself
  5. None of these. Your head, torso, shoulders should slightly shift toward your right on a blocker save as your head tracks down over it. You're not just moving your torso laterally but also twisting a little bit at the spine. This puts your torso on angle in case of a rebound on that side (so you just pick up your left leg and push), allows you to reach forward and laterally a little bit more to fill space, and gets your glove more toward that side if you do need to cover a muffin. Note you do not want to be "punching" into the puck (I think we discussed this before) as that takes away velocity from the flight path and will frequently just put pucks in the kill zone around you, nor do you want to flex or snap your wrist for the same reason. Just let the board do the work and direct it to the corner.
  6. Correct, you didn't have a firm-to-hard layer of foam behind the jenpro pushing it out. Squishy pads would just squish.
  7. Unfortunately this is a normal thing with the way pads are made these days. 3M catches on itself, I would not recommend that as an option. I have used a thin layer of Goo Gone or clear nail polish in the past. Generally, you’ll get a little wear in this area to start and it will not get worse.
  8. To answer your question, going from True 2pc to True 1pc was an easy transition for me. Had a slight challenge with fighting the right hollow. I would either get 3/8 or 7/16" with 2pc, have since taken it down to 9/16 or 5/8". You'll be going from a 3mm wide blade with 2pc to 4mm wide with 1pc, plus the lack of flex between outsole and holder. The skate "feels" sharper at a shallower cut. To contrast, it probably took me 5-8 skates to get comfortable from cowling to 2pc. Most annoying thing with the 1pc is the steel farts/howls when you hard stop Also highly recommend you skip lacing the top eyelet on these. I found my old post: Forefoot: 7/16" higher on 2pc Rear: 9/16" higher on 2pc
  9. https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-puck-player-tracking-honored-at-sloan-sports-analytics-conference-331649276 https://www.nbcsports.com/nhl/news/puck-and-player-tracking-taking-big-strides-forward-in-nhl I've seen some footage of home arenas projecting the game onto the ice surface when the team is away (ie. COL vs NSH in NSH, Ball Arena in CO can actually project player names on ice and puck movement onto their ice surface) If you go to live games, some will have player data up on supplementary digital boards, ie. Crosby's max speed this game was 28mph, average shift time was 37 sec)
  10. I think I did a comparison of 1pc vs 2pc (Bauer Holder) a few years ago. IIRC Bauer holder is .25 in the forefoot and .5" higher in the heel? I never got used to the height on the 2pc, always felt like my weight was up higher than I wanted. Probably partly a mental thing. Went from cowling > 2pc > 1pc and really love the feel of the 1pc.
  11. Thanks for the kind words. I'm pretty sure I have some leftover Norco in my medicine cabinet from when I got my wisdom teeth removed... Would that make me a drug dealer? lol
  12. Not a Ducks fan, but a local. That 2003 run was magical. I remember catching one of the OTs after prom.
  13. Mostly because FastGlide is dogshit Every pad I've had since them has gotten progressively better. I really enjoyed 20.2 and love my PX3. I don't know how much "cool stuff" I would want on my gear anymore.
  14. I feel you brother. I bent down to pick up a pen off the floor in late June, same week I got a monster promotion at work. I hear something click in my right hip and immediate discomfort. Then I find I can't get into certain ranges (hip abduction mainly). Next day, I can't even walk and the pain persists for about a week. I had an MRI done back in late July, got it back in early August indicating two torn hip labrums, some degeration and development of some kind of cyst in the joint (which is probably why my hip internal rotation sucks); luckily no FAI. Currently doing some PT stuff right now, who say it's "normal wear and tear" for a 39 year old hockey player. Serious misadventure with my insurance company. My primary care referred me to an orthopedic specialist group twice. First time, the doctor I was cut a referral to is retiring at end of year, and isn't accepting new patients. Second time, I find out this group doesn't treat torn hip labrums. Absolute shit show, call my insurance company to complain and they told me it's on my primary care to actually research who treats what before cutting a referral. At this point, it's late August. I finally have a specialist who can see me and can work on my injury, but he's booked out until October. I've been contemplating hanging them up too. I drive home and I see my gear parked on the shelf in front of me, it's weird feeling knowing I may not put the gear on ever again. Half the stuff is brand new, I just got a new chest and pants. Got some new sticks sitting in my office right now.
