So my set is called off, as the shop i was buying from quoted me the price for the set, and that ended up being the price of one glove.....

Also the only place where you could choose to have it made in Canada if you wanted to, as far as i have seen.

Made in Canada is a good thing of course. Did somebody seriously quote you like $400 for a full set? lol

Here's a problem I run into quite often.  As a renter, I'm moving around every few years, and often I find myself in a situation where I have to bring my gear up and down some stairs.  With the Sumo Tower, that's a no-go with the bag, so the bag lives in the garage, and I have to make 2-3 trips up and down stairs to the basement with my gear.

The garage is not an option, either because of critters in a house I don't trust, or because in Southern Canada we get both 40C and -20C days throughout the year.

Have been looking at the Drysnake bag, but even that wouldn't be able to live in the garage.

Anybody have any creative solutions to getting your gear up and down stairs efficiently?  I've considered switching bags entirely, but I still like the general convenience of the Sumo.

Yeah if I had to go up/down stairs I'd be switching too.

I think the best carry bag for players is the Mammoth bag, and I know they have a goalie bag now too. I'd take a look there. If you want something more comfortable I'd check out the Passau backpack. I wasn't a fan of it and it ended up ripping on first use, but others have had good experiences with it.

I've had major issues with every piece I've bought from them, including the shock cord crap, their "bacon" straps, the "K" or "Professor" strap, and their knee blocks.  Their durability is crap.  Shoddily made with cheap materials.

    Bummer. I'm glad I haven't.

That is my worry too. The durability of there products have been crap. The ideas are there but the quality of the materials used has been junk.  I really like the whole idea and would love to get one but 3 or 6 months down the road, even year the stuff fails your out $100+. I honestly would like to see some else who does quality work and uses quality materials take this same idea and build it. I don't know if Factory mad does jocks but Dennis could build something like this and it would last a longtime.

Well that's just it. If somebody could do better I'd be all ears. But this thing looks awesome, from a design perspective, especially for a fat guy whos current jock gets shoved down because of the gut :) Lots of adjustability options, and getting that second layer of protection without the ridiculous bulk of a second cup.

Just like the RYNO straps. One of the best purchases I ever made. Now that I've started to wear through the shock cord after 2+ years of use (no surprise, it's worn right at the spot where my cowling touches the ice in the butterfly) I looked at alternatives to the same thing and had @Beccaraptor make me a replacement out of leather.

the whole concept looks amazing, i would just be worried about durability from what ive heard about their other stuff

I've never had any issues with durability. I've seen plenty of stories of missed deadlines and some shoddy production at times but never heard issues about durability. We'll see, though!

THE BEST GEAR IN THE WORLD WON'T PROTECT YOU IF YOUR STRAPPING KEEPS MOVING ON YOU. MOST JOCKS HAVE ONE LAYER OF ELASTIC THAT EVENTUALLY WEARS OUT AND TURNS TO BACON. AFTER TIME YOU'RE LEFT WITH A JOCK HANGING OFF YOUR WAIST WITH SOMETHING THAT RESEMBLES A WET LASAGNA NOODLE. THE NEXT THING YOU KNOW, YOUR JOCK IS MOVING AROUND INSIDE YOUR PANTS AND YOU GET NAILED IN THE NUGGETS.

AT MONSTER, WE'RE KNOWN FOR TAKING STRAPS TO THE NEXT LEVEL. WE USE TWO OF OUR DOUBLE LAYER B2 STRAPS AND MOUNT THEM TO A PADDED AIR MESH BACK PLATE FOR THE ULTIMATE IN COMFORT AND FLEXIBILITY. RUGGED TRI-GLIDES ALLOW FOR A WIDE RANGE OF ADJUSTMENTS SO ONE SIZE FITS ALL. THE DOUBLE VELCRO ENDS FIT SECURELY INTO THE WAIST BAND OF THE JOCK, GIVING YOU A CONSISTENT AND COMFORTABLE FIT EACH TIME.

AROUND THE THIGHS, WE USE A ROBUST 1.5 INCH STRAP, RATHER THAN THE USUAL 1 INCH ELASTIC. MADE OF THE SAME QUALITY MATERIALS AS OUR 2 INCH BACON STRAPS, THE THIGH STRAPPING WILL KEEP YOUR JUNK TRUNK SECURE IN PLACE. USING AN ADJUSTABLE SYSTEM THAT VELCROS INTO YOUR WAIST BAND, THE THIGH STRAPS CAN BE POSITIONED TO GIVE YOU THE PERFECT FIT.

THE JUNK TRUNK OFFERS THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF PROTECTION, CUSTOMIZATION, AND ADJUSTMENT YOU CAN FIND IN A JOCK.

Yeah... you're probably right. Just not sure how many removable pieces a jock needs? I guess I fall into the camp of guys saying "Monster solved another  problem I don't have."

Maybe. They solved a problem I have though... I need a new jock. I love the way this is built. Maltese lined carbon fiber cup, with a maltese "double cup" sounds like a win to me. Way better than using two plastic cups like some brands do.

After that video I get the feeling this was made as part of a dare...

Some guy in a bar: "Betcha can't make something as simple as a jock the most complicated piece of equipment a guy is wearing... and to top it off you have to use no less than 6ft of velcro."

    Monster: "Challenge accepted."

Looks less complicated than the warrior pro, for example.

Me too. Went with (what I think is) a cool color combo and with the pre order you get the belly pad and double cup but I went for the Kevlar cup too.

I’m hoping to not need the double cup or belly pad to get the slimmest option possible while still being protective.

I was going to go with team colors but ended up just going all black, plus the kevlar cup.

I would think that a majority of users will ditch the belly pad and second cup if they use the kevlar cup.

Take it from a long-time user of the Kevlar cup (as the one you’d be buying is just like mine)- you will love it if you take a bomb in that spot.

I may dump the belly pad just because I'm fat so it'd all get pushed down by the gut, but the second cup (which isn't actually a cup from what I can tell, and is just a thick outer maltese wrap basically) I'd likely use.

I was going to buy that kevlar cup anyway and just open up my reactor jock and put it in, but never did it. This thing looks like a better option.

The Optik jock was the other one I was considering. I really liked the shape of it.

@IPv6Freely - is there anything I can look for to isolate which ad is doing this?

Ehhhh..... that may be difficult. I assume your ads are just google ads (or similar), right? I can't really think of a good way. Maybe somebody on the Invision boards may have suggestions.

Exact reason why I sold my brown.  The Vaughn XF I’m using now is a nice balance

I’m in a reactor right now.

Honestly the jock itself largely doesn’t matter assuming it’s comfortable. Having a Maltese lined Kevlar cup with an outer pad of Maltese over it sounds like a really good option to me.

I’ve never had cup issues.... I just hate how bulky jocks have become.  I still miss my old D&R

Agreed. I bought a Brown jock that’s still sitting in the closet because it’s way too big.

Ive been meaning to replace mine and this looks like a good candidate.

Great stuff! That makes me think OTNY is producing it gives it some credibility.

Maybe I’m lucky, knock on wood, but I haven’t had any cup issues. I fully understand buying a better mouse trap, if you can’t tell, but is it a consensus that people think their cups’ suck?

Shawn Schroeder makes them if I recall.

Is it weird that I have absolutely no faith in them to protect peoples junk? Honestly, it looks cheap and that's not what I want to see when buying a protector for the boys.

Thanks for grabbing the pics gents.

Dunno, pretty sure a kevlar cup lined with maltese plus a second layer of maltese is going to be better than what I have now.
