@IPv6Freely believe it or not... There is stuff you are not privy too. I believe leaving this here is useful.
Interesting. So youre saying the content of his post is only valid if left as being posted by the admin account? Why does it not have value if posted by his regular user account?

Please just leave that that there. It is needed for this particular case.
It's not, but it's your site...

@Tim_TRUEHockey - Please note: The "TestAdmin" account is for site maintenance. The user using the account probably forgot to log out and log in with their traditional user name. Please note that comment is not an "official" TheGoalNet.com opinion. As with all comments, that's a unique users's opinion. That was not my post either.
Just hide the post and have him re-post as his normal account.

Yes we're very aware of goalies' varying preferences in terms of blade height, pitch, etc.
One thing you could consider is going with a boot-only option with us and then putting on whichever holder/cowling you prefer. Saves you about $150 upfront.
Does True still offer the ability to cut a specific size and shape of the holes in the 1-piece? They did back in the VH days but not sure if that's changed.

Both of my teams are craft breweries sponsered. Rocket Republic and Campus 805. Both make some really great beers. Since the menu is always changing, can't say there is a specific at each. I just get what they made that month.
In the parking lot though, it's usually whatever is cheapest and cold.
Funny I saw 805 and thought you meant Firestone Walker 805 from San Diego.

You couldn't get the air2gel? It's firm, but i wouldn't call it hard, certainly not as hard as VN foam I've had in the past. But the point of a lot of the research behind Shocktec is that a foam that will not compress completely is the most protective. I lot of the softer and comfort foams I've seen can be compressed completely between 2 fingers. That means that an impact can transfer to the head much easier or at least, that's the theory as I understand it.
That's where I like what's in the Bauer NME so much. Theres the normal foams in there, but then there's low density gel pads for comfort. If I could get a mask lined with maltese (for impact absorption) with some of the little gel pads (for comfort) I'd be in heaven. The pads are actually ULTRAGEL which is easy enough to find online, but not in smaller sizes.

Three of my recent pickups in one pic lol. True one piece skates, Next gen Monster Pro Toe bridge (RYNO), and the Sparx!
@Bgums13 @bunnyman666 IMO the one pieces are a dream come true. Perfect fit, of course, but for me the perfect balance of height, pitch, and attack angle. I’ve been taking some notes with the thought of writing a full review at some point. The zero energy loss thing is legit. They are like Ferraris for your feets.
My only complaint so far is that the holes in the holder area limit your options for toe ties alternatives. If you tie with traditional laces of course you are fine. Original HALs don’t fit through the toe hole, stock ProLaces are too short to reach the middle hole and still fasten correctly (and my skates are prob the equivalent of size 7s), Brian’s smart strap you have to mash through. Looks like HAL TLGs (the smaller ones) would fit.
Anyway, I solved that with the new version of the RYNO. Excellent product now that its made from Jenpro or weave with higher quality stitching and jenpro attachments for the laces. Super happy with these and of course it takes 2 seconds to attach to the leg pads.
The Sparx just rules. There are tons of reviews online and they are all consistent. Its laughably easy to set up and sharpen. With the Trues or any cowlingless goalie skate you don’t even need to goalie adapters (although they are included with the machine). I did one sharpening at 1” and it was flawless. 99 more to go and this thing pays for itself!
We're going to have nearly identical setups soon
The Sparx is one of the best investments I've ever made (though how you can skate on 1" is beyond me... I use 3/8"). I have VH now but getting True for christmas. I was debating 1 piece vs 2 piece and I think I'm going to go 1 piece.
And yeah the new RYNO (I think they call it PRO BRIDGE now?) is fantastic. Fun fact, I got this email from Laura:
QuoteJeff asked me to tell you thank you and he almost called it the Jones’ spec but didn’t want to pay you any royalties
I bugged him CONSTANTLY about putting jenpro over the tab from day one! Mostly because my pads are black, my skates are black, my laces are black, my shock cord is black... and then my toe bridge was white. Yech! lol.

Tried "liking" a post and got a message saying "Sorry, you cannot add any more reactions today". I had only liked one other post so far today. Didn't know we were limited on our reactions.
There is no limitation. Must have been a glitch in the matrix.

Boom! ya you can see in my avatar pic thingy the first yellow i used, which was off by a couple shades. The golder yellow was a perfect match to the buins yellow, and my cage!
Yep, way too yellow! Thanks man!

Nice not sure about the 3M vs Oracal, I was just told by a few folks that do wraps to try and find the Oracal.
Cool cool, clearly the color looks good on your mask so I'll try to find some.
EDIT: That was easy. https://www.amazon.com/Glossy-Adhesive-Backed-Cutters-Punches-VinylXSticker/dp/B00NQNBCLO

I'm using some vinyl on my mask for an event this summer. Any suggestions on what to buy? I was just going to get some generic 3M vinyl on ebay to use. It's just temporary.
I also need to figure out what 3M color is closest to Bruins sport gold...
EDIT: Well that was easy. Boston is PANTONE® 1235 C, which 3M specifically uses in their Sunflower 25 color. $5 for a 3x5 sheet on Amazon.

Is the craft brewery scene as obnoxious as it is here in the North West?
We have one of the biggest craft brewery scenes in the country here, though it doesn't get obnoxious at all from what I've seen and experienced. Everyone seems to just like to have a good time regardless of local brewery.

Would actually make a lot of sense on my VH since you don't want the bottom tight at all and the second and third eyelet from the top is the only part I'd say was "tight".

I don't drink beer very often. Usually just after a game and in that case I want something as close to water as possible, so I actually prefer something like Coors Light. Actually, my drink of choice post-game is Angry Orchard but that's not beer. I just find it refreshing.
When I'm actually having beer outside of a hockey setting it's usually going to be from one of the many San Diego based breweries.

Measure your FTK and use the size chart.

"Goalie specific"?
I could be completely wrong but these appear to be the exact same holders, save for the triangular punch out near the toe...
If they are the same (punchout aside) my point was simply why not make a "goalie specific" holder that would emulate the height of the 1 piece unit?
I'm not knocking True at all by the way. This is just my personal preference for something that isn't available yet...
Sure, but why make two holders if one does the job?
I actually kind of like it. I could have a set of player steel and a set of goalie steel and use either depending on situation.

seems odd that True couldn’t partner or develop a new mold for a goalie specific holder. They obviously appreciate the market’s desire for a lower profile skate with their 1 piece unit.
Id consider ditching my cowling on my Graf dm1080s but I don’t like the added height on the step player holder and vertexx.
I don't understand your first sentence. That's EXACTLY what they did. They worked directly with Step to develop the Step holder.
