Vaughn SLR 4
in Gear
Nice looking gear. I had a similar issue with Kelly Green jenpro and nylon on my Warrior pads ages ago. Another user posted about this buddy with the exact same Kelly Green issue on his buddy's Vaughns.
Hope to hear your on-ice impressions soon.

Vaughn SLR 4
in Gear
I've got a widget on my phone that counts down the days until an approximate delivery date for my SLR4s. I was also quoted 6-8 weeks for the set, so I set the countdown to 7 weeks. If it is leaning closer to 8 weeks, I'll have to add another 7 days to it. Going from 21 days remaining to 28, ugh!

Some Bobrovsky specs from a True video posted to their Instagram.
Looks like it reads:
"Bobrovsky Pad - Catalyst (33-??) Tight(?) ..."
"Angle Options Single Break Core No Break Outer ..." Can't tell if it says Soft or Stiff
"Knee Zone Soft Foam (No Outer Knee Wrap)"
"Boot Flex (Core) Flex"
"Leg Strap Elastic Strap 2" Below Knee Fixed Single"
"Boot Strap No Strap"- 2

Weird, I'm in the customizer now for PX4 and PX3 and it is still showing the COMPLETE YOUR ORDER button. Clicking it still takes me to a page to enter my credit card information.

They market the "agility" runner as the SAM profile but to your point maybe they just do that for the Pro skates and dont sell it that way as replacements.
I believe that is exactly what is going on. Probably did it as a way to get people to try out the SAM profile. Bauer began rolling out the ProSharp machines and profiling templates around the same time/soon after.

Does this also change the palm material, have you tried the new blocker yet? Is the pillow as comfy as the old one?
Have not seen it in person yet. I do not believe it changes the palm material - just the sidewall, but I can ask.

Do you know what the traditional VS shadow backhand pillow is for the blocker, only spec I’m iffy on at the moment.
So, from what I've been told, changing the backhand changes the sideboard. Essentially, if you select the Mach backhand, you'll get something very close to, if not the same, as the Mach blocker. Leaving it stock gets you a Shadow blocker.

Is Jake using forest green or does he get a custom green that we can’t get? Because Murray’s look brighter
I can't answer the above questions for certain, but the Bauer customizer does have a new green this year, called Victory Green. The PDF makes it ever-so-slightly better than Kelly Green, I don't see it on the customizer. All the other new colors seem to be present (Coyote Red, Desert Sand, Ducks Purple, Retro Tan).
However, the first lines here - https://www.texasstars.com/news/detail/texas-stars-unveil-new-logos-and-colors says that the Stars do use Victory Green. So it sounds like that's what you're looking for?

1 is definitely the best. Toss up between 2 and 3. I think 3 edges out 2.

Still a tad disappointed on the Mach's vs HL's as they felt like a step back on that front. Otherwise don't see any real changes made to justify the upgrade unless I'm missing something.

I do think my HL2 slide better than my Mach. But both are the Slider skin so I'm not sure as to why one slides better than the one, but I have a theory related to a possible quality issue.

Ah, for some reason I thought you had the XF on order as well.
C'mon, do eeet
AFAIK, employee orders open up when the customizer launches, so it isn't open yet. Should be up in a month, I think.

I don't, but I had some questions - yours is one of them - pending with someone from Bauer, hopefully they get back to me soon!

Shadow customizer is up - https://www.bauer.com/pages/mybauer-goalie-gear
Customizer booklet is up -https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0606/2758/3214/files/FINAL_MyBauer_Custom_Goal_Gear_2024_ENG_LOW_RES.pdf?v=1710352502
Placed my order a little over two weeks ago - hopefully should get it in early May.
EDIT: Interesting to note that the sidewall on the blocker in the customizer is different from what we see of the sidewall in the catalog pictures above.- 1

I'd go with the PPF film, personally, I've been using small bits of it on high wear spots on my HL2 pads (thighrise corners and boot binding area) and it works like a charm - zero wear.
The shot blockers look a little chunky. I think they're made of Kydex so they should be pretty lightweight...

Vaughn SLR 4

7 minutes ago, UCLALabrat said:My bad, i thought they still offered the V10 XP but would make sense if they rolled it into the SLR4 since both gloves had the same stock break (well SLR3 and V10).
Wasnt the V9/V10 a two piece and the SLR one piece or did i get that wrong?
IIRC, V9 was two-piece and V9 XP was one-piece. V10 and V10 XP is one-piece.

3 minutes ago, UCLALabrat said:How you mean? The SLR4 offers a 60 and 70 deg break option? Or are there other aspects?
Stock is 60, but they offer a 70 degree which is similar to the 580 break.
There was a brief period where Vaughn offered a V10 XP catcher and blocker which seems to have become SLR4. Not sure if that's the original plan or if customer/pro feedback on it was so good they decided to use it as SLR4.

Turbotax should be just fine if you've filing Single, have only one job, are taking the standard deduction. Super basic stuff.
An accountant can help if there's more moving parts. Investment income, side business, rental property, itemized deductions, thinking of contributing to a traditional IRA, etc. But they can be pricey. Turbotax should serve 90% of the populace pretty decently - I say this as a CPA with his own tax practice.
